BSC IS MORE THAN A CLASSROOM. WE'RE POLYTECHNIC AND POLYTECHNIC IS YOU.
POLYTECHNIC
Polytechnic is not just some fancy college jargon. It’s our mission. And our mission is you. By partnering with business and industry, we offer students realworld experiences through internships, job shadowing and classes grounded in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics). It means we’ll help you get the right skills and make the right connections so that you can get on the right path –whether that’s continuing your education or starting your career.

Proud to be ND's only Metallica Scholar's school two years in a row.
My favorite thing about attending BSC is the atmosphere. BSC’s campus is the perfect size. A small student-to-faculty ratio makes it easy to communicate with faculty and get extra help if needed. All of my hands-on learning experiences at BSC have been extremely helpful and informative. Everyone I have worked with wants to see students succeed and are willing to lend a helping hand to make it happen.

My experience being a student athlete at BSC has been great! All the professors I had were very supportive and understanding when I had to miss class due to a game. My coaches always emphasized school first, sport second, and were extremely encouraging! To future athletes, it’s a grind to play in college, but it’s worth it! Find your balance and don’t forget to have fun doing it because it’ll be over before you know it.

EXPERIENCE = CREDIT
Receive credit for the learning you may have already done!
Not all college-credit happens on a college campus. BSC encompasses all the non-traditional ways students may have earned college credit, including:
AP/CLEP
AP (Advanced Placement) courses are taken in high school and students can receive college credit if they earn a 3 or higher on the exam. With CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), a student can earn college credit for what they already know on any of 34 CLEP examinations.
PRIOR LEARNING
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) can help by giving adults college credit for knowledge and competencies they’ve gained outside the classroom.
MILITARY
BSC awards credit for Military Training Programs as outlined by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Taking Dual Credit classes while in high school is an investment into your future. The tuition costs are cheaper and it’s worth your time to take as many classes as you can to save time and money. If you take Dual Credit classes, your future self is going to thank you.
– Emily Schmitz, Secondary Education
DUAL CREDIT & EARLY ENTRY
Save time and money and get on the fast track to your future when you take Dual Credit and Early Entry classes thorugh Bismarck State College. Dual Credit and Early Entry provides significant advantages that can set students up for success.
DUAL CREDIT
High school students enroll in college courses and receive both college and high school credit simultaneously. These courses are usually taken at their high school or online.
EARLY ENTRY
High school students take college courses from a BSC instructor either online or on the BSC campus in addition to their high school schedule.
BENEFITS OF TAKING DUAL CREDIT CLASSES:
Students can begin taking Dual Credit courses as sophomores.
More options open up in junior and senior year, helping students complete college credits early.
Dual Credit ensures a seamless transition to college, reducing time and costs in higher education.
Out-of-state residents receive in-state tuition with reciprocity. This reciprocity agreement applies to the 10 states pictured and two Canadian provinces, including Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
You don’t have to figure this out alone! BSC Student Finance can help you with:
• Individualized cost estimates
• Billing, refunding and payment plans
• Military and veteran tuition assistance
