H O P E . H E L P. H E A L I N G . Fall 2019 Edition
It’s Applefest time once again! A celebration of the autumn harvest and North Dakota heritage, Applefest at Buckstop Junction is the kickoff to the fall season in North Dakota. The 13th annual event is where the charming, small town atmosphere of Buckstop Junction comes alive with entertainment, fresh-baked goods, games, live music, and great food. Tour the historic buildings, peruse arts and crafts while sampling local foods at multiple food booths. There will be live music by the Johnny Cash tribute band, Church of Cash, One ‘n’ Done, and Rock Creek just to name a few. All of these things and much more make Applefest, unquestionably, one of the best festivals in North Dakota. Applefest has a few new additions and changes this year that will make this year’s event better than ever according to Sara Kelsch, Marketing Director at the Bismarck Cancer Center, “We really strive to make Applefest fresh and different every year. We’ve added new inflatables, including an enormous blowup obstacle course for the kids, the first ever Junk ‘n Flip auction, a kids’ scavenger hunt, the first Applefest Blood Drive, plus much more. We also like to keep the event affordable,” says Kelsch, “And, this year, the cost of admission is only $5 for everyone and kids 3 and under get in for free, thanks to Basin Electric’s admission sponsorship.” All proceeds from Applefest benefit the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. With these funds, the Bismarck Cancer Center is able to offer an array of complimentary services including transportation and lodging assistance, spiritual counseling, support groups, nutritional care, survivorship care plans, massage, and physical therapy. “What began as a way to bring the community together to lend support to cancer survivors, has really grown into a family tradition to attend, year after year,” said Amy Gross, Executive Director at the Bismarck Cancer Center. Come join the fun with your family! Check out www.applefest.org for more information.
