We believe in the community, and we believe that it can be an attractive place for young professionals. With the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network, the community will have a solid partner and asset for the future development of Bismarck-Mandan.
Connect
Proactively pursue YPN partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, and organizations with a focus on professional development, service, culture, and entertainment to help connect our members with existing opportunities throughout the community.
The mission of the Young Professionals Network is to enhance the culture for young professionals in the Bismarck-Mandan community through professional development, entrepreneurship, community service and social networking; to create new opportunities for members; and to connect members to organizations in the Bismarck-Mandan community.
Intentionally develop spaces and programs that foster meaningful connections among members and within the broader community.
The Young Professionals Network had a successful 2024-2025 as we celebrated 20 amazing years as an organization. Through the guidance of our 3-year strategic plan, the Network focused on enhancing our board experience, strengthening and adapting our partnerships, continuing to host quality events for members, and better demonstrating what the Network has to offer through our social media accounts and website. Through the support of our partner organizations and members, the YPN will continue to thrive over the next 20 years!
Gabrielle Abouassaly President
The year was filled with events both new and old. After a hiatus due to the pandemic, we were able to bring back the Top 10 Tours, providing members with the opportunity to see the organizations recognized as the Top 10 Businesses for Young Professionals. Our newest series, Apps and Ambitions, brought back focus to the entrepreneurial side of the organization, providing members with the opportunity to share their passion and some of the exciting work they do in our community. Members gave back through various service events, including volunteering at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, our annual roadside cleanup, and many more opportunities. As always, the year ended with the Annual Cinco Celebration, which was extra special as we celebrated 20 years of the YPN.
As we enter 2025-2026, we are excited for the Network to continue to grow. Our volunteer board met shortly after Cinco for a half day retreat to prepare for the upcoming year as we look to further enhance the member experience. We have many exciting things coming up to continue developing young professionals while helping to make Bismarck-Mandan a community where lifelong residents, those who have returned after some time away, and newcomers alike feel welcome and at home. We look forward to having you join us on the journey!

The Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network (YPN) is proud to have partnered with a range of local and global businesses to foster personal and professional growth opportunities for our members. These valuable events and initiatives were made possible through the generous support of our sponsors throughout the 2024–2025 fiscal year.
During this year, YPN was honored to receive sponsorship from 25 dedicated organizations, collectively contributing over $14,000 in direct financial support. In addition, many partners donated their time, resources, and materials—further enriching the experiences of our members and event attendees.
Thanks to these gracious contributions, YPN successfully hosted a diverse array of events designed to support professional development, leadership growth, and community engagement. One standout event was Epic Impact, featuring global traveler and speaker Tom Turcich. Tom shared inspiring stories of overcoming challenges around the world, drawing meaningful parallels to the personal and professional journeys of our members.
Our sponsors also helped us facilitate community-focused initiatives that strengthen connections between young professionals and the greater Bismarck-Mandan region. Through these events, YPN not only supports individual development but also reinforces the value of civic engagement and local collaboration. Sponsors benefit as well, with complimentary memberships for their employees—encouraging deeper involvement and stronger community ties.
YPN is a volunteer-driven organization, operating under the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC, a registered 501(c)(6). Every dollar received is reinvested directly into programming. Our Executive and Leadership Board members—all volunteers—play a critical role in planning, organizing, and executing the events and opportunities that define our Network.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, partners, and members for their continued support. It is through your generosity and belief in our mission that YPN can continue to empower the leaders of tomorrow and enhance the community we call home.
Together, we strive for a better, stronger tomorrow.
Wisdom Team 2024-2025

The Wisdom Team has made suggestions that have helped us with strategic planning, editing and enacting bylaws, and introducing new practices with business partners.
Thank you to our Wisdom team members for their time and effort in supporting the Network!

Welcome to the Young Professionals Network from the Board!
Whether you’re flipping through this Annual Report out of curiosity, community pride, or because you’re already a part of the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network, welcome...we’re glad you’re here. The YP Network is more than just a group; it’s a growing community of driven, diverse, and creative individuals who care about where they live, what they do, and how they grow, both personally and professionally. Our mission is simple: to create opportunities for connection, leadership, learning, and service that help young professionals not just build careers, but build lives.
We offer spaces to meet new people, gain confidence, volunteer in meaningful ways, and engage with causes that matter. Through panels, networking mixers, community projects, book discussions, professional development events, and just-for-fun get-togethers, we help our members forge strong relationships and discover new paths forward. If you’re looking to expand your circle, deepen your roots, and find a place where your voice can make a difference, this is it. And the best part? You help shape what the Network becomes. Each person who joins brings new energy, new ideas, and new possibilities. That’s what keeps us vibrant, relevant, and impactful.
No matter your field, your background, or how long you’ve been in the Bismarck-Mandan area, there’s a place for you here. We hope this report gives you a glimpse of the incredible people and experiences that make this group so special, and that it inspires you to be part of it, too.
One of the Young Professionals Network’s most impactful annual traditions continued in 2024 with the return of “Failing Successfully”, an evening designed to celebrate growth through professional setbacks. Held at SendIt Cornhole in Mandan, the event drew attendees from across the Bismarck-Mandan area to hear authentic stories of missteps, lessons learned, and the unexpected paths to success that can follow failure.
Since its original launch in 2019, Failing Successfully has created a platform for local professionals to share the oftenoverlooked side of their journeys: the
challenges, detours, and mistakes that shaped who they are today. The 2024 event featured four speakers, all based in Mandan, who shared personal and professional stories that reflected both vulnerability and perseverance.
The speakers answered a series of thoughtful questions, such as: “How do you rebuild trust after a mistake that affects your team?” “What role does reflection play in overcoming failure?” and “How can professionals regain credibility after a major error?” While specific answers varied by speaker, the overall conversation emphasized the importance of humility, resilience, and

continuous learning. The panel also offered practical advice on recognizing patterns, asking for help, and preventing isolated errors from cascading into larger issues.
Failing Successfully remains a powerful reminder that setbacks are not endpoints: they’re opportunities for reflection, redirection, and growth. The event continues to foster an authentic community of professionals who support one another through every part of the journey.
Over a 17-year career spanning various regions, Gordon has built a broad portfolio of projects that deliver meaningful social, environmental, health, and quality-of-life benefits. His experience across the public, private, and non-profit sectors equips him with a broad perspective in seeking design solutions. Gordon blends his expertise in landscape architecture, construction, technology, and fine art to work at various scales and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, communities, and government organizations. His work focuses on creating innovative, thoughtfully designed solutions to address complex design problems with creativity and impact.
Chelsy Ciavarella | Founder at The Poppy Creative
An engagement, an unexpected career pivot, and a craving to create led Chelsy to transform a challenge into an opportunity by founding The Poppy Creative. What began as a rental service for event furniture and decor quickly evolved into a dynamic business that now includes craft classes, parties, custom decor, and a full event venue. Drawing on her personal experience of navigating uncertainty, Chelsy helps others create memorable events by offering unique, creative solutions that address gaps she personally encountered. Her journey is a testament to resilience, adaptability, and finding opportunities in unexpected places.
Dylan Schafer | Co-Owner at Dialectic Brewing & Ciderhouse
Dylan began homebrewing in 2013. Shortly after, he landed his first professional brewing gig at Junkyard Brewing in Moorhead, MN. He attended graduate school striving to be a professor and researcher in criminology and sociology in Bowling Green, OH. There, he worked as the Head Brewer at Bowling Green Beer Works. He decided that he preferred brewing over working in academia and chose to move to Mandan to open a brewery in 2018. He loves camping and cooking & is currently planning on building a microcamper. When is he not doing those things, he is spending time with all of the animals that his wife adopts.
Hannah Schafer | Co-Owner at Dialectic Brewing & Ciderhouse
Hannah fell in love with the craft beer industry while she was attending The University of Oregon in Eugene, OR. She studied sociology & criminology at a few different schools during her academic career and finally decided to take the plunge and open a brewery in her hometown, Mandan, ND in 2018. She spends her free time playing tennis & adopting all of the animals.
TomwithTurcich
This year’s Epic Impact event was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to our keynote speaker, Tom Turcich, the tenth person to ever walk around the world, and the first to do it with his dog, Savannah, by his side.
Tom’s seven-year, 28,000-mile journey across 38 countries was not only a physical feat, but a powerful exploration of purpose, resilience, and personal growth. Motivated by the tragic loss of a close friend, Tom set out to live life more fully, and in doing so, uncovered timeless lessons that deeply resonated with our YPN community.
Throughout the evening, Tom shared hard-won insights from deserts, jungles, mountaintops, and city streets across the globe. He reminded us that adversity is a training ground for growth, and that clarity of purpose can guide you through even the most uncertain paths.
Tom challenged us to:
• Ground our goals in core values that guide decision-making
• View constraints as catalysts for creativity and innovation
• Develop resilience through routine action, not inherited traits
• Embrace the journey as a process of continual learning and discovery
From solo stretches through the wilderness to joyful moments shared with strangers, Tom’s stories illustrated that fulfillment isn’t found at the finish line, but in the steps we take every day.
His keynote left our audience with renewed motivation, a deeper sense of purpose, and the tools to forge ahead, even when the road gets tough. We’re grateful to Tom for sharing his experience and reminding us that with passion, perseverance, and a little curiosity, we’re all capable of accomplishing the extraordinary.
Each year, the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network selects a local non-profit to partner with, an organization whose mission aligns with our values and passion for community impact. The chosen non-profit is revealed at our signature Cinco celebration, marking the beginning of a year-long collaboration centered around service, support, and connection.
For the 2024–2025 term, we were proud to partner with Brave the Shave, the region’s largest fundraising initiative dedicated to fighting childhood cancer through direct family assistance and vital research. Brave the Shave believes every child deserves a healthy, carefree childhood, and they are relentless in their mission to support families at every stage of the cancer journey.
Over the past year, YPN members joined forces with Brave the Shave to host a series of engaging and impactful charity events, with all proceeds going directly to support the organization’s work. From long-standing favorites like Trivia for Charity and Chill’n’Bowl to competitive community events like our Cornhole and Sand Volleyball Tournaments, YPN brought energy, creativity, and purpose to every opportunity. In addition to fundraising, YPN members also volunteered their time, lending hands and hearts to support the families Brave the Shave serves.
Our partnership with Brave the Shave was more than just an initiative...it was a reminder of the power of community and the impact we can make when we stand together for a cause that truly matters.

The Young Professionals Network values the strong connections we build with our nonprofit partners, even after our formal partnership year has ended. One shining example of this continued support came in March 2024, when our members volunteered at the “Wing Fling” fundraiser hosted by Bismarck State College in support of one of our past nonprofit partners, the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC).
The event was an evening filled with community, compassion, and generosity. Volunteers from the Young Professionals Network showed up in full force, easily recognizable in their bright orange YP shirts. Our members played key roles throughout the evening: serving up trays of wings to attendees, selling raffle tickets to raise additional funds, helping direct guests, and even acting as spotters during the live auction. Their energy and professionalism helped ensure the evening ran smoothly and created a welcoming environment for all who attended.
The Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center has long been a vital part of the Bismarck-Mandan region, offering hope and healing to children and families affected by abuse. DCAC provides a coordinated, child-focused approach to investigations of child abuse, working in collaboration with law enforcement, child protection services, medical professionals, mental health providers, and prosecutors. Their services include forensic interviews, therapy and support for victims and families, medical evaluations, and education and prevention programs.
By participating in the “Wing Fling” fundraiser, YP members were not only giving their time, they were reinforcing a lasting bond with an organization that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in our region. Our continued involvement with DCAC is a testament to the values of the Young Professionals Network: service, support, and strengthening our community, one event at a time.
Each year, YP members put their brainpower to the test for a great cause at our Trivia for Charity event, and this year was no exception! Hosted at the Bismarck Amvets, ten teams competed through five exciting rounds of trivia to raise money for our non-profit partner, Brave the Shave. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and the competitive spirit of our participants, we raised $1,126 in support of this incredible organization.
Teams battled it out for prizes donated by local businesses, with awards going to the top team in each round and the top three teams overall.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our generous sponsors and local prize donors! Bismarck Amvets, Brad & Heidi Heinke with Goldstone Realty , Brave the Shave, Ci ty Brew, Crumbl Cookie, Das Mountain, Dialectic Brewing, First Communi ty Credit Union, Gate Ci ty Bank, HDR Engineering, HexaHive, KLJ Engineering, KnowMe Promo, Kroll’s Diner, Laughing Sun, NISC, Nothing Bundt Cake, Ola Balms, Open Water Marine, Patriot Nutrition, Red Carpet Car wash, Sanford Health, Tommy’s Car wash, Woodsmith ND
Holiday Mixer
To close out the year, the Young Professionals Network hosted a festive Holiday Membership Mixer at YouVitalize. The evening offered a warm and welcoming space for members to relax, connect, and celebrate the season together. Ruby Tuesday provided catering, and beverages were generously donated by McQuade Distributing
Attendees enjoyed a casual social hour, followed by a mix of games, raffles, and interactive icebreakers that kept energy high throughout the night. A variety of prizes, including gift cards and donated items, were raffled off to attendees who brought donations. YP shirts and swag were available, adding a touch of team spirit to the evening.
This event not only helped members recharge during the busy holiday season but also served as a great way to welcome new faces and build momentum heading into the new year.
Summer Picnic
In August, Young Professionals gathered at Optimist Park for a lively summer picnic that brought together fun, food, and friendly competition. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with sand volleyball and cornhole, making the most of the beautiful weather and energetic atmosphere.
Thanks to food sponsorship by Moore Engineering, and cookies to follow thanks to Gate City Bank, everyone was treated to a delicious meal, adding to the festive vibe of the event. It was a perfect opportunity for YPs to relax, connect with one another, and create lasting summer memories in a laid-back, outdoor setting.
The YP Book Club continues to be a meaningful way for members to connect, reflect, and grow, both personally and professionally. This past year, we explored four thought-provoking books that sparked insightful conversations and encouraged us to challenge our perspectives.
We kicked off with “Trick Mirror” by Jia Tolentino, a collection of sharp essays that led us to reflect on identity, culture, and the pressures of the modern world, an eye-opener for anyone navigating today’s fast-paced professional landscape. From there, we turned to “Radical Respect” by Kim Scott, which gave us practical strategies to build better workplace relationships and foster inclusive environments, critical tools for any emerging leader.
Next, “The Remix” by Lindsey Pollak guided us through the complexities of generational collaboration, helping us better understand how to thrive in multigenerational teams and communicate more effectively across age groups. Finally, we wrapped up the year with “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***” by Mark Manson, a bold and refreshing reminder to focus our energy on what truly matters, both in our careers and in life.
Beyond the lessons in the pages, what makes this group special is the chance to gather with other young professionals, share experiences, and engage in honest dialogue. Whether you’re a bookworm or just curious, the YP Book Club offers a welcoming space to grow and connect.
On the topic of books, some YP members took the opportunity to visit The Novel Exchange. This local bookstore is a book lover’s paradise. The store is located in downtown Bismarck.
The owners of the bookstore talked to YP members about what it was like to start their business and how to keep it going. They talked about their upcoming store expansion and upcoming summer events.
It’s great to support these “Hidden Gems” and boost our wonderful community!
Volunteer Events
Over the past year, Young Professionals had the chance to participate in a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities that made a meaningful impact in the Bismarck-Mandan community. One highlight was assisting the Bismarck Art Galleries Association (BAGA) during the Opening Reception of the 80th Annual Fall Art Show, helping to plate, serve, and clear appetizers, contributing to a warm and welcoming experience for event attendees.
YP members also pitched in at two other beloved local traditions. At Papa’s Pumpkin Patch, volunteers helped prepare the grounds for the fall season, supporting a cherished attraction that brings joy to countless families.
Additionally, YP members gathered at Send-It! Cornhole in Mandan to write heartfelt thank-you notes to donors who supported Brave the Shave on Giving Hearts Day. These events offered meaningful ways for volunteers to give back, strengthen community ties, and have fun while supporting great local causes.
On August 6th, a group of us were welcomed by Coach Dominique and the Bismarck Rattlers to learn how to play lacrosse. We learned about the rich history of lacrosse and then we got to play a game of what they called “Garbage Pail Lacrosse”! Along with lacrosse, members were also able to play some volleyball, cornhole, spikeball, and there was plenty of networking throughout the evening.
For this year’s YP Day, members volunteered at Brave the Shave’s first-ever “Play for a Purpose” Sand Volleyball Tournament at Pioneer Park. The event raised funds for children battling cancer and featured a silent auction alongside competitive, co-ed volleyball. YPs helped with setup, registration, officiating, bracket management, and refreshments. Congratulations to the winning teams, Brave Volleys and Jackalope! It was a fun and impactful weekend, and we look forward to supporting Brave the Shave again.
On April 10th, the YP was also given the opportunity to learn pickleball, hosted by Bismarck Parks and Recreation’s Pickleball expert, Rod. Plenty of fun was had in this exciting test of skill, and was a good reminder that even professionals have to have fun every once in a while!
Celebrating 20 Years of YP!
Over the past 20 years, the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network has evolved from a small gathering of emerging local professionals into a thriving 200+ member community. Since 2005, YP has hosted a diverse mix of social events, civic forums, professional development programs, and volunteer initiatives. The Network pioneered support for Mandan’s economic planning, launched award programs like ‘Top 10 Young Professional Workplaces’ and annual member distinctions, and cultivated strong partnerships with local businesses, earning recognition for both its members and partners. Its 20th-year celebration in 2025 reflects a culture of connection, growth, and positive impact on Bismarck-Mandan’s next generation of leaders.

Favorite Memories:
• Chill ‘n Bowl. Loved seeing what teams would dress up as for the Team Spirit award. One of my absolute favorites was the team that showed up as the Ghosts from Pac-Man with one member dressed up as Pac-Man.
• 24 Hours of Trivia in 2017 where we had a rotating cast of YP members that joined our YP team over the course of 24 straight hours of Trivia. I was the only one bold (well maybe dumb) enough to stay for the entire 24 hours!
• YP intramural volleyball - The focus was definitely on fun and not skillset! Why did you join YP?
I wanted to find a way to get involved in a new community and meet people as I had recently moved from Montana to Bismarck. Luckily there were a few members that I already knew including former YP President Amber Ruzicka who I had served with on Minot State’s student government while in college. Having a couple people I knew helped the transition but since everyone in the YP was eager to network I quickly made lots of new friends! I ended up jumping in with both feet and joined the Professional Development team as a Co-lead within a few months.
What is something that you have learned or gained from being a YP Member?
It’s going to be very cliche/corny but: Teamwork makes the dream work! I was always impressed at how well the YP executive team and team co-leads worked together to keep a constant stream of activities going throughout the year. Why should other young professionals join YP?
It’s got a little something for everyone and that’s what I think makes it great. There are organizations that are only focused on community service, or networking, or social activities but there are very few that encompass all of those (and more). Your experience in YP is ultimately what you make of it. When I was involved we had people that only wanted to attend the social events or play intramural sports but we also had people who were very community service focused. Both of those were welcome within the YP and could participate to their hearts content!

This is a proud moment for me. I had started the Stepping Up program in 2008 based on a personal experience I had when first out of college. This program focuses on young professionals speaking to high school students and telling their personal stories about how they chose their college and major, maybe why they changed their major, maybe they moved out of state for college or a job and then what brought them back to this area, how they choose their career path, what events lead them into the jobs they have today, how has networking benefited career advancement and growth, and why to choose jobs in high school & college that parallel with their career path so after college they have the education AND the experience when applying for jobs. 1000’s of high school students heard our personal stories over the years including this impactful message, “If you choose a job you love, you will never have to work a day in your life!”
YP Member | Amber Ruzicka
Bismarck is not my hometown, so I originally joined to meet new faces; along with the great offerings of professional development. For me, the YPN provided a platform for service, development, and connection. Who doesn’t want that as a young professional! My favorite events were Epic Impact – I was on the planning committee. These events were so impactful and provided great value to the Network. My best advice? Take the leap, networking can be hard but also so rewarding. Take an opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, give back to your community, and meet some great friends along the way!
What are some of your favorite memories of YP?
Volunteer events are always my favorite type of events (roadside clean-up, giving hearts day, volunteering at the Dakota Zoo, blood drives, etc) and learning about the amazing non-profit organizations that exist in the community through the annual partnerships over the years. Plus meeting so many amazing members at the events. What has been your favorite YP event?
It’s a toss-up as I have loved being involved in Epic Impact the last four years as you get to be part of the committee that does the speaker selection. Equally as awesome though is the annual Chill n Bowl event as who doesn’t love a chili cook off, bowling competition, costume contest that raised money for charity! And of course coming in as a three way tie is starting the Trivia for Charity event four years ago that helps raise money for the YP non-profit partner.
Why did you join YP?
My first event was simply to get a friend to stop bugging me about how great YP was, but I quickly learned that she wasn’t lying about the Network. I was looking to meet others my age at a place that wasn’t the bar and YP was just the place to do that with a variety of events.
What is something that you have learned or gained from being a YP member?
Confidence in social situations. I went to the first few events knowing one person and then attended a new member coffee socials where I could meet the board. After that it was up to me to venture into other events and meet new people, but overall the Network is full of friendly and welcoming individuals who are all looking to connect with other young professionals. I’ve made lifelong friends during my time with YP.
Why should other young professionals join YP?
Whether you are looking to grow your professional network, simply socialize, or give back to the community through volunteer opportunities there is something for everyone. You choose how to participate and engage with YP so it’s a great fit for everyone.
YP Member | Kenzie Meide
Favorite Memories?
Creating a new website for YPN, strategic planning sessions, social events, being introduced to my husband at an event (they didn’t know we were married) LOL Favorite Events?
Falling Successfully, Golf Scramble at the Amusement Park, Chill N Bowl, Cinco, Professional Development events
Why did you join?
I joined to meet other people my age as I work with primarily older people. I grew up on the east side of the state and didn’t know anyone when we moved here.
What is something you learned or gained from being at YPN?
I have gained some strong friendships from people I have met in YPN. I am on committees and teams I found it to be a strong professional development experience being on the board. I learned how to manage other people that you aren’t working with directly and how to rally behind an idea for an organization to succeed. Why should others join YPN?
YPN offers a wide variety of events and allows you to network and meet people that you may not normally interact with. You never know what relationships will develop, both personally and professionally! Other advice for those starting out in the Network?
Get involved, you get what you put into it!
...and the next 20 years?
That’s up to all of us!
A
special thanks

On May 5, 2025, the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network celebrated its 20th Anniversary at the annual Cinco event, a milestone marking two decades of fostering professional development, community service, and social networking. With over 100 members and a vibrant community presence, this year’s event highlighted the Network’s growth, achievements, and commitment to shaping the future of Bismarck-Mandan.
Founded on Cinco de Mayo in 2005, the YPN was established by visionary young professionals who recognized the need for greater opportunities in our community. Partnering with the BismarckMandan Chamber EDC, they created a platform to connect career-minded, community-focused individuals. Today, the Network continues to welcome newcomers, support young talent, and collaborate with local organizations to enhance the region’s cultural and professional landscape.
Community Champion Award
In 2025, Bartlett & West received the Community Champion Award for their exemplary support of the YPN. Their active engagement, event sponsorships, and encouragement of employee participation exemplify their dedication to developing the next generation of leaders.
The YPN remains committed to welcoming newcomers to our community. At Cinco, Janel Schmitz, First Lady of Bismarck, shared insights about the Bismarck-Mandan Welcome Initiative, highlighting opportunities to connect and engage new residents.
As we celebrate 20 years of impact, the YPN looks forward to its 21st year with renewed energy. Under the leadership of the new Executive Team and Leadership Board, we will continue to provide opportunities for professional growth, community involvement, and meaningful connections. Thank you to our members, partners, and supporters for making the YP Network a cornerstone of BismarckMandan’s young professional community.

Each year, the YPN selects a non-profit to partner with. That non-profit is announced at the annual Cinco celebrations. This upcoming 2025-2026 year, YPN is excited to work with the North Dakota Asian-American Arts and Cultural Initiative!
The North Dakota Asian-American Arts and Cultural Initiative (NDAAACI), founded in 2022 by local leaders Crista McCandless and Joan Klein, is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to amplifying Asian-American voices across North Dakota. As a 501(c)(3) organization based in Bismarck-Mandan, NDAAACI aims to promote diverse Asian cultural traditions, including visual arts, music, dance, culinary arts, storytelling, and hands-on crafts, through exhibitions, community discussions, youth programs, and public showcases. Their signature events, like the annual Cultural Expo, “Know My Culture” talks, youth story-craft sessions at the library, and cultural game nights, offer immersive experiences that celebrate the richness of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage.
We are thrilled to welcome NDAAACI as our new nonprofit partner and look forward to rolling up our sleeves at their upcoming events. Our members are eager to serve as volunteer ambassadors, whether helping with event setup, assisting in interactive workshops, or promoting their Cultural Expo and youth series. Beyond on-site support, we’re committed to exploring additional ways to assist NDAAACI in amplifying their mission, engaging diverse communities, and fostering cultural exchange. Together, we aim to uplift Asian-American artistry and build a more inclusive cultural landscape across North Dakota.

The continued success of the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network is deeply rooted in the strong relationships we’ve built throughout the community. This past year, the YP Partner Program thrived, welcoming 20 dedicated partners across all levels, from Bronze to Platinum. Our partnerships included both financial contributions and generous in-kind support, all helping us drive our mission forward.
Our goal is to establish long-term, mutually rewarding partnerships. Participating organizations receive a range of valuable benefits, including brand visibility at events, promotion on our website and in this annual publication, complimentary memberships for employees, and the chance to host exclusive YP-sponsored events.
Notably, we’ve seen a growing level of engagement from our partners. More companies are actively encouraging their young professionals to get involved, whether that means attending educational sessions like Lunch&Learns or networking at some social gatherings after hours. This increased involvement strengthens both our Network and the broader Bismarck-Mandan community.
We’re excited to continue expanding our partnership program and forging new connections that bring lasting value to all involved.
