THE LAST TIME Bishop Guilfoyle handed the Crushers a 56-3 defeat on Saturday, October 24, 2016. The win moved Guilfoyle to 8-0 and raised their winning streak to 24 state games, while McCort dropped to 1-7 on the year. Bishop Guilfoyle received the opening kickoff, and wasted little time getting into the scoring column. The Marauders had a quick 8 play 63 yard drive that resulted in an Evan Chadbourn touchdown run to give them a 7-0 lead. The Crushers answered with a time-consuming drive, but failed to convert on a fourth down attempt. Guilfoyle quickly scored to take a 14-0 lead after one period.

The Crushers began the second quarter with some rhythm on offense. They drove the ball deep into Guilfoyle territory before the offense stalled at the 15 yard line. Shane Steele came on and booted a 32 yard field goal to cut into the lead at 14-3.

SERVICE APPRECIATION NIGHT / YOUTH NIGHT
The two teams traded possessions throughout much of the second period, but it was Guilfoyle that eventually found the end zone on an Aaron Yasuiltas run to take a 21-3 advantage. On the ensuing kickoff, Carnell Andrews had a dazzling 84 yard kickoff return deep into Guilfoyle territory. The Crushers missed a 27 yard field goal attempt with 1:51 remaining in the half, and it gave the Marauders enough time to punch it two more times to make it 35-3 heading into halftime. The Crushers second half started with some impressive running by Anthony Walters, but eventually McCort was forced to punt. Guilfoyle scored on their first play from scrimmage to go ahead 42-3, and it set the running clock in motion. Bishop Guilfoyle added one touchdown in the third and another one on the fourth to set the final at 56-3. The McCort offense was paced by Anthony Walters' 77 rushing yards and 32 receiving yards. Levi Cook led the way with 97 passing yards, while Carnell Andrews chipped in 161 yards on kick returns.
