HOT FUDGE HAMANTASCHEN

Whether you’re a fan of traditional hamantaschen fillings like raspberry or poppyseed, your taste buds won’t want to miss this hot fudge filling. The filling recipe is composed of heavy cream, dark chocolate, and brown sugar to make it oh so decadent. We promise this is one hamantaschen recipe you must try this year!

INGREDIENTS:

HAMANTASCHEN DOUGH:

• 1 cup of softened butter

• 2 cups sugar

• 1 tsp vanilla

• 3 eggs

• 4 cups of self-rising flour

• ½ tsp salt

HOT FUDGE FILLING:

• 1/2 cups plus 1 tbsp of heavy cream

• 4 ounces dark chocolate

• 5 tbsp of brown sugar

• 2 tbsp butter

• 2 tbsp cocoa powder

• 1/2 cup of Nutella

DIRECTIONS:

HAMANTASCHEN PREPARATION:

• Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

• Beat the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, and then combine the flour and salt.

• Roll the dough out on a well-floured surface or large cutting board. Cut out circles with a round cookie cutter or a round glass.

• Place a dollop of the hot fudge filling in the middle of each circle.

• Pinch the circle into three corners to form a triangle.

• Place on well-greased cookie sheet

• Bake 20-25 minutes

HOT FUDGE FILLING PREPARATION:

• In a sauce pan, add ½ cup plus 1 tbsp of heavy cream and heat to a simmer.

• While this is heating, place 4 ounces of dark chocolate and 5 tbsp of brown sugar in a heat safe bowl.

• Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and sugar.

• Add 2 tbsp of butter and set aside for 5 minutes.

• Stir the chocolate mixture.

• Add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder and mix.

• Finally mix in ½ cup of Nutella.

• Let the mixture cool.
