Birthright Israel impacts young Jewish adults during the most transformative times in their lives. For many participants, Birthright Israel is a journey of self-discovery that provides clarity and meaning in ways they did not expect.

WHY Now? Our founders created Birthright Israel in 1999 with the goal of sending every young Jewish person on a life-changing journey that would strengthen their bond with Israel and the Jewish community. While we have achieved great success to date, there is much work to be done to reach this monumental goal and ensure Birthright Israel is available for generations to come. Birthright Israel currently sends 45,000+ participants to Israel each year, but that is just a tiny fraction of the estimated 1.6 million Jewish children under the age of 18 who will soon age into the Birthright Israel cohort.
