Naked by Luigi Pirandello
Director Suzy Catliff
A young woman hounded beyond endurance, a media creating a persona with little relation to reality, a person’s privacy invaded. Sound familiar?
Recently discharged from hospital after a failed suicide attempt, a young woman is offered shelter by a well-known writer. Whilst in hospital, the young woman tells a journalist the story of her life.
However when the journalist appears followed by her faithless lover and her former employer, all contesting her version of events, the truth becomes ever more elusive. A tragical farce or simply a tragedy?
Pirandello wrote ‘Naked’ in 1922.
