Every production space or storage room with more than 200 m² requires two exits

For multistory industrial buildings with a floor area of more than 1,600 m², a minimum of two physical rescue routes must be present in each story, preferably opposite each other

From every point within a production space or storage room, at least one exit to the exterior, a compulsory stairwell, another fire compartment, or a firefighting section must be reachable: − within a maximum distance of 35 m for rooms with an average clear ceiling height of up to 5 m – within a maximum distance of 50 m for rooms with an average clear ceiling height of 10 m or more

Rescue routes for industrial buildings

Includes: Main aisles in production spaces and storage rooms; exits from these spaces to the exterior; compulsory stairs and corridors

At least one main aisle must be within 15 m of any point within every space
