Making a Difference
“This past week, I was training a new nurse on our Endoret program. Our Endoret program is a specialty procedure where we make individualized eye drops using a patient's plasma to treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions We make the drops by drawing a patient’s blood, spinning it, withdrawing the plasma, cooking it, and we are left with Plasma Rich Growth Factor Stem Cells. The patients use these drops in their eyes to heal the surface of the eye and regenerate lost cells. We started with a pilot project in our London Clinic and have expanded to several Clinics across Canada
week, we were talking with a repeat patient, and she shared her story She LOVES the eye drops. She has a hard time driving and has bumps on the surface of her eye causing discomfort and pain. She told us that at her last optometrist appointment, her prescription had improved by 3 points!!!! The bumps on her eyes are going down and the drops have been life changing for her I was so impressed that the drops have made such a difference in her life They certainly are designed to help heal the eye but when she told us her prescription improved, I thought I had to share!”

After an increase in price, a doctor started sending his patients elsewhere. Well, clinic lead Meghan provided such excellent care and developed such a good rapport with these patients that they chose to absorb the extra cost and requested they go back to Coverdale!

This patient had upcoming travel plans, so it was crucial they keep their appointment, but there were unforeseen circumstances regarding their medication delivery Clinic lead Tammy had even offered to personally drive to Winnipeg (two hours each way) to procure a replacement drug In the end, the medication arrived at the clinic and the
patient was able to receive their necessary medication as ordered. Tammy accommodated the patient by extending her working hours to honor their appointment.

“I was in the Clinic for a tour and during that time, Georgette Marsh had a patient come through who she introduced me to as her manager The patient immediately said ‘Oh GOOD! Now I can tell someone about how amazing you are!’
The patient continued to tell me about how good of a job Georgette does with her injections She says she lives quite a distance from the clinic but chooses to come to this clinic because Georgette is here. This patient has tried multiple other clinics and said she felt as though she was a number there.
When she comes here, she describes Georgette as warm with excellent bedside manner She wanted to ensure I knew that she wasn't just 'saying this', but that it was coming from her heart ”
