Turning Seaweed into Power: How Sargassum Could Fuel the Future From environmental menace to renewable resource. The Caribbean explores the biofuel potential of pelagic Sargassum. Biogas: Valuable Reserve Energy

“Dear Readers and Esteemed Members,
First of all, we would like to warmly invite you to the Bio-Energy Pavilion in Hall no. 8 at REI Expo 2025, happening on the 30th, 31st Oct and 1st Nov 2025 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Join global stakeholders, including a German delegation, to explore innovations, policy, and investment in bio-energy. Do not miss this key opportunity to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of sustainable energy.
The Indian Biogas Association, and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), have conducted a stakeholder consultation meeting on the Roadmap for the Renewable Energy Skilling Ecosystem. This initiative aims to strengthen job creation and skill development within the bio-energy sector in India. It will boost the sector’s growth create valuable employment opportunities for the youth across the country.
This vibrant edition of Biogas Magazine, where we dive deep into the innovations, challenges, and breakthroughs shaping the biogas sector today. As the world seeks sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, biogas emerges as a valuable reserve energy source. Its potential spans not only rural economies but also urban energy needs, offering cleaner fuel options and contributing to the conversation, both in India and globally.
ising solution in bio-extrusion technology. This approach transforms problematic crop residue into a rich feedstock for biogas production, reducing both pollution and waste. Alongside this, India's push toward CBG grid injection is revolutionizing how clean energy is distributed and consumed. These efforts mark a crucial step in building a decentralized energy infrastructure powered by renewable gases and rooted in circular economy principles.
Beyond land-based feedstocks, exciting developments are underway in turning marine biomass like sargassum seaweed into a new source of energy. This opens up vast potential for coastal economies and demonstrates biogas’s versatility. Strengthening CBG adoption in India involves a dual approach: accelerating technological innovations and fostering enabling policies. From infra-
Globally, the biomethane momentum continues to grow, with policies across Europe, Asia, and North America encouraging cleaner, sustainable energy systems. Exploring these international frameworks reveals that compressed
edition captures the dynamic forces at play from grassroots innovations to national and global policies, making biogas not just a fuel, but a movement shaping our sustainable future.
Happy Digesting.
