Working Together 2 Working Together: Unions and Management Teamwork and cohesion are two of the building blocks when it comes to business. Both are also significant factors in the relationship between labor unions and management. Since the 1800’s, labor unions and management haven’t always seen eye-to-eye when it comes to contract negotiations, terminations, and union rules. Over the course of this paper I will address the role of management, the role of the union, and discuss strategies that both may implement in order to create an environment and culture that breeds teamwork, performance, and trust. Before we look at strategies, let’s visit the roles of both management and unions.
