After missing a year due to the pandemic and months of vigilant planning, the 31 st Annual Billtown Blues Festival kicked off on Friday, June 11 th without a problem to the relief of all of those who worked so hard to put it in motion. Friday set the stage for what was to come for the rest of the weekend. Fans of all ages came prepared and eager for three days full music and true comradeship. Throughout the past 31 years, the Billtown Blues Association presented some of the best and diverse blues acts in the world and this year the tradition continued. The weekend kicked off with the long-awaited Auditions. A first for the event by taking place on the festival stage and with a panel of judges. Opening the auditions were the Noaker/Combs Duo out of Lewisburg followed by Selinsgrove’s Jason P Yoder rounding out the solo/duo competition. The band competition started off with The Cadillac Cats from Williamsport, next up from Mansfield was The Kevin Hyatt Band, and closing the auditions from Selinsgrove was Becky Blue and The Brand New Revue.
