United Way to benefit from Festa Gervasi! event on Sept. 27 (Canton, OH) Sept. 18, 2015 — On Sunday, Sept. 27, Gervasi Vineyard will hold its fourth annual Festa Gervasi! Grape Harvest Festival. Last year, more than 5,000 enjoyed great food and fun. A portion of the proceeds from festival activities and some specialty vendors will be donated to United Way’s 2015 annual campaign. Last year, the Swaldo family, vineyard owners and longtime United Way donors, added to the festival donation for a total gift of close to $15,000. “This is a great day to enjoy food, music and a variety of family-­‐friendly activities,” said Scott Swaldo, General Manager, Gervasi Vineyard. “In doing so, we are all giving back to the community and supporting an organization that is breaking the cycle of poverty in Stark County.” Italian fare, sponsored by Northern Haserot, will be served in The Villa Grande with a pre-­‐sold Italian Plate for $12 and $6 for children. Italian Plates must be reserved online prior to the event at www.gervasivineyard.com. The Piazza, The Bistro and The Crush House will be open full service and other food options will be available, including a walk-­‐up bar available inside The Pavilion with hot dogs, chips, and barbeque beef sandwiches. Live music will be performed throughout the day by the following: The Boomers, Beach Boyz Entertainment (DJ with Games and Dancing), Scott Paris and The Travelin' Johnsons. A variety of family-­‐friendly events are planned. Some are weather permitting. Those include the following: • 12:00-­‐2:00 p.m. Grape Print Activity with Plain Local Art Teacher Sarah Shumaker • 12:00-­‐3:00 p.m. Caricatures: Get a caricature by Louise Udovich for $11 per face, with portion of proceeds donated to benefit United Way of Greater Stark County • 12:00-­‐5:00 p.m. Yarn Bombing: Interactive Art Project, Come join us in yarn bombing some trees with explosions of color! Fun for all ages! • 1:00-­‐5:00 p.m. Grape Stomping: Visit The Crush House for a chance to stomp grapes! $1 Donation Requested to Participate to Benefit United Way of Greater Stark County • 2:00-­‐4:00 p.m. Face Painting with staff from North Canton’s Bead Boutique • 2:00-­‐4:00 p.m. "Grape Harvest" Relay Race: Teams of 1-­‐3 people will harvest, stomp and serve grape juice! (No grapes are harmed in this activity, purple balloons are substituted) Specialty vendors include Chocolates By Erin (Specialty Chocolate Barks, Grapes and other Goodies), The Main Squeeze (Freshly Squeezed Strawberry and Classic Lemonade), MsCotti Inc (Soft Biscotti and Cookies), Holcombs Classics (Cinnamon Roasted Nuts), The Crooked Kettle Popcorn Co. (Kettle Corn), Deborah Patterson (Slumped Bottles), Bead Boutique (Wine & Fall Themed Jewelry), and Handcrafted Heirlooms (Seasonal handmade décor/gifts).
