As 2024 draws to a close, the Billbergia team is reflecting on another successful year.
Together with our partners and stakeholders, we have delivered numerous industry-leading commercial and residential developments - each with cutting-edge sustainability features and striking architecture, bolstered by our significant investments in community infrastructure.
Increasingly, Billbergia’s focus has been on alleviating Sydney’s housing crisis, with our transport-oriented and mixed-tenure developments also addressing affordability and boosting housing for key workers.
Our commitment to excellence has been recognised and celebrated across the industry, with our projects taking out numerous awards across design, development and construction.
These achievements are made possible by our strong relationships with project partners and consultants, along with our loyal and dedicated staff and in-house teams, who worked tirelessly across the entire year.
Our Managing Director and Co-founder, John Kinsella AM, was recognised at the Urban Taskforce Awards as Property Person of the Year 2024 for his decades of visionary leadership.
He has made an outstanding contribution to the industry over the past 36 years as a driving force behind the transformation of entire Sydney suburbs - particularly Rhodes and Wentworth Point.
“John Kinsella and his team have been at the forefront of utilising innovative solutions to create high-density mixed-use precincts that are great places to live, work and play. As an integrated property development group, Billbergia’s footprint of quality can be seen across Greater Sydney and beyond,”
said Urban Taskforce Founding Director and Hon. Secretary Treasurer, David Tanevski.
88 Walker, our cutting-edge mixed-use development in North Sydney, received an outstanding 12 awards in 2024. 12 state, national and international awards in 2024, across architecture, lighting, sustainable design, development, and construction. It has been recognised for its excellence in design, development, and construction.
Designed by high-profile architects fitzpatrick + partners, 88 Walker has revitalised North Sydney and is its tallest building, comprising a 252-room hotel and 24 levels of premium boutique office space.
Most recently, it took out awards from the Master Builders Association (MBA) NSW including Outstanding Construction Award 2024 and the highly-coveted Master Builders Australia’s 2024 National Construction Master Builder of the Year Award. These achievements wouldn’t be possible without the work of our teams, consultants and project partners.
“These awards celebrate not just the structures and projects but the people behind them – builders, subcontractors, and their teams who go above and beyond to transform communities,” said Master Builders Australia CEO, Denita Wawn.

Construction of Billbergia’s largest mixed-tenure project Arncliffe Central is well underway, in partnership with Homes NSW and Community Housing Providers St George and Evolve Community Housing.
Designed by Architects GroupGSA, the project comprises 806 new apartments, across four buildings of 17-21 storeys. In addition, significant community infrastructure will be delivered including 4,000 square metres of landscaped central park and community plaza, local shops, cafes, child care and a new Community Library to be dedicated to Bayside Council.
Approximately 75% of all apartments will be dedicated to social and affordable housing – a record achievement that far exceeds all government and industry targets.
Lidcombe Rise has also captured the attention of the industry again and been recognised for its development excellence. The mixed-tenure residential project has been delivered under a triparty agreement between the private, public and community housing sectors.
Designed by Plus Architecture and delivered on Government land by Billbergia in partnership with Homes NSW and Evolve Housing, Lidcombe Rise is a transport-oriented development with 41% of the 376 apartments dedicated to affordable and social housing.
Industry recognition of Lidcombe Rise’s achievements to date include:

Peake and Oasis Towers have delivered a combined total of 672 apartments above a mixed-use podium with a 9,000+ sqm $85 million Community Recreation Centre rapidly nearing completion.
The project is the second stage of the Rhodes Central Masterplan design by award-winning architects SJB, effectively creating a new town centre in the heart of Rhodes at the railway station.
Early 2025 will see the new Community Recreation Centre and Child Care Centre handed over to Council, and the completion of streetscape works, with a future pub and office.
Billbergia has recently launched sales campaigns for two new residential developments - Chatswood Grand Residences and Rhodes Bay. Importantly, these projects will deliver 116 apartments dedicated to affordable housing under amendments to the NSW Government’s Housing Sepp (2021).
The $700 million Chatswood Grand Residences marks Billbergia’s first foray on Sydney’s North Shore and heralds a new era of flexibility, bringing the area its first ever live-work and intergenerational apartments.
With striking architecture by multidisciplinary firm PBD Architects, Chatswood Grand Residences will deliver a combined of 332 new homes - 308 apartments plus 24 live-work units across two 36-storey mixed-use residential towers, rising above a two-level podium of retail and commercial space.
The towers feature grand lobbies and a range of premium resort-style amenities including a luxe swimming pool on the podium level, spa, sauna/ steam room, BBQ outdoor area, outdoor gym and an outdoor wellness space for yoga and tai chi.
Designed by renowned architects SJB, Rhodes Bay will deliver a combined total of 337 apartments over six individual buildings ranging in height from nine to 13 storeys.
The development will also comprise eight retail premises totalling 3,275 square metres alongside significant new public space providing greater access to the Parramatta River foreshore. It will provide abundant new public amenity with over 6,000 square metres of public open space.
An additional sales campaign is underway for Arncliffe Central, bringing the total number of homes launched this year to around 1,500.
Thank you to our Billbergia team, consultants and project partners.
The spirit of collaboration is what drives our success, and we look forward to celebrating another stand-out year with you in 2025.
