Il materiale che comunemente chiamiamo “carbonio” è in realtà un composito di fibre di carbonio e resina epossidica. La resina fa da collante fra le fibre e le protegge dalle aggressioni chimiche, meccaniche e climatiche, ma svolge anche un’importante funzione strutturale. Un carbonio di alta qualità serve a poco se la resina non possiede proprietà meccaniche altrettanto elevate, tali da ridurre al minimo il rischio di rotture. Per ottenere questo risultato siamo intervenuti sul composito inserendo nella resina epossidica nanoparticelle di Ossido di Zinco (ZnO). Si tratta di corpuscoli infinitesimali di forma sferica e di bassissima densità. Il loro effetto è sorprendente: aumentano la compattezza del composito, migliorando sensibilmente la resistenza all’urto della struttura.

What we commonly refer to as “carbon” is actually a composite of fibers and epoxy resin. The resin’s function is to join and bond the fibers, as well as protect the overall structure from external forces. In order to avoid potential points of weakness that could result from micro-gaps in a composite layup, we’ve implemented an ultra low density nanoparticle Zinc Oxide (“ZnO”) resin. This results in a stronger composite with higher resistance to impact while enabling us to reduce the weight of our frames due to its superior structural integrity. What this means out on the road is improved durability and amazingly responsive handling - the hallmark of our frames.

Our unique rear triangle concept has been influenced in part by advanced motorcycle design. We have created a seamless, integrated monocoque unit that unifies seat and chainstays,as well as all-carbon dropouts, for more immediate power transfer and superb handling.

Wilier Triestina still insisted on a design that allowed for fine-tuning of rear wheel position and therefore of the cogset’s orientation in relation to the rear derailleur. This enables optimal wheel alignment, aerodynamic positioning and smooth shifting. Thanks to our innovative solution providing 6mm of adjustability, wheel base and distance from tire to the rear of our truncated seat tube airfoil are customizable.

This enables both aerodynamic and bike handling optimizations, as well as making wheel changes fast and simple.

The Razor Edge Design overlaps top and down tube at at the head tube to form a single, integrated and reinforced unit. Combined with the unique lines of the specially structured fork, we’ve optimized lateral stiffness and front end stability for quick accelerations as well as smooth, precise handling speed.

Nessuna giunzione, niente colla né viti: i forcellini posteriori costituiscono un corpo unico con la parte inferiore del carro. Anche il punto d’incontro, tradizionalmente in alluminio, è parte del monoblocco in carbonio. In questo settore lo spessore dei tubi è stato potenziato per aumentarne la resistenza, pur contenendo il peso. Contemporaneamente, l’angolo è stato ammorbidito per dissipare le vibrazioni trasmesse dal suolo.

Seamless construction that does away with joints, glues and bolts. The dropouts are part of the unified rear triangle and an essential component of the carbon monocoque frame mold. As part of the continuous seat and chainstays, the angles of this area of the frame structure have been relaxed to dissipate road vibrations and improve comfort as well as handling.

Rigidità, comfort e resistenza sono le tre componenti che fanno di un telaio monoscocca un grande telaio. Ma è necessario trovare un equilibrio perfetto fra questi fattori, che in caso contrario andrebbero uno a scapito dell’altro. Nel telaio di Cento1 Superleggera, fibre di carbonio con differenti specificità vengono combinate sapientemente sino a raggiungere un equilibrio virtuoso. Le zone più sollecitate sono realizzate in fibre MR60H (con modulo elastico pari a 60 tonnellate per millimetro quadrato), mentre in altri punti vengono utilizzate fibre T800H (30 tonnellate per millimetro quadrato) e T700SC (24 tonnellate per millimetro quadrato). L’uso della fibra MR60H presenta l’enorme vantaggio di raggiungere la rigidità desiderata usando molto meno materiale rispetto ad un modulo più basso, a tutto vantaggio della leggerezza del telaio.

To build a great monocoque carbon frame, we look for the perfect balance of stiffness, comfort and responsiveness at the lightest possible weight. Carbon fiber is an ideal material for bicycle frames because of its qualities of elasticity, capacity to withstand stresses, and its strength-to-weight ratio. The higher the modulus, the stiffer the composite. On the other end of the spectrum, the lower the modulus, the more elastic it will be. In the construction of the Cento1 Superleggera, we implemented MR60H for stiffness in the critical stress areas where lateral stiffness equates to greater efficiency. Then we used T800H and T700SC, with more elastic characteristics, to ensure comfort and sure-footed handling. Each was used as minimally as possible once our demanding strength and durability standards were met, ensuring the lightest weight frame possible.

La tradizionale tecnica di fabbricazione di un telaio monoscocca in carbonio è quella del cosiddetto “sacchetto sotto pressione”. Questo metodo ha un inconveniente: non consente di ottenere una ripartizione uniforme dell’aria all’interno dell’involucro. Ne derivano spessori di carbonio non omogenei, difetti nella superficie interna e, in definitiva, una diminuzione delle proprietà meccaniche, che si traduce in una limitata resistenza della struttura nel tempo. Con Cento1 Superleggera abbiamo perfezionato la tecnica costruttiva LIT (Large Inflatable Tube): le fibre di carbonio preimpregnate vengono compattate in modo più uniforme contro le pareti dello stampo, eliminando gli accumuli di resina, rendendo lisce le superfici interne e assolutamente regolari gli spessori. I vantaggi dal punto di vista meccanico sono evidenti: questo processo migliora la resistenza della struttura alle sollecitazioni dinamiche, mantenendo inalterate nel tempo la sua reattività e la sua rigidità.

We’ve also leveraged LIT (Large Inflation Tube) technology in the making of the Cento1 Superleggera. Our prepreg carbons benefit from even higher and more uniform compaction through the use of industrial, high pressure bladders. The bladders expand from within the frame’s tubing, pushing against the inner walls of the tubes as the frame mould exerts opposing pressure from the outside. The combined compactionforces result in a precision, lower-void construction and consistent wall thickness of the tubes throughout the frame’s construction. More traditional carbon manufacturing processes fail to optimally compact a composite, resulting in varied wall thicknesses, or voids (undesirable resin deposits), along a frame’s tubing that compromise structural integrity. That could translate into reduced longevity and strength. So the advantages of the Cento1 SL’s construction are obvious: increased capacity to handle stresses, optimal torsional stiffness, and unparalleled responsiveness.

La ricerca di una maggiore stabilità di guida ha focalizzato e concentrato gli studi sull’ area dello sterzo. È questa una delle maggiori novità proposte da Cento1SR. Un nuovo posizionamento del tubo obliquo e del tubo orizzontale rispetto al tubo di sterzo aumenta virtualmente l’ altezza di quest’ ultimo. L’aumento virtuale che si genera, paragonato alla medesima taglia di Cento1, incrementa la rigidità torsionale del 14% .

Nella configurazione ribassata, il tubo obliquo che si integra perfettamente con la testa della forcella genera un profilo aerodinamico capace di ridurre la resistenza all’aria. Il foro d’ingresso della bussola per il freno così nascosto dal tubo obliquo, si mantiene pulito e ben protetto. Il nuovo design aerodinamico che ne risulta dona allo sterzo un notevole rigore estetico, caratterizzato da linee semplici ed armoniose.

Gli steli della forcella seguono le medesime caratteristiche aerodinamiche adoperate sul modello TwinBlade. I foderi della forcella penetrano l’aria con una forma affusolata mentre il retro segue con un profilo squadrato tecnicamente chiamato a “coda tronca”. La combinazione di queste due soluzioni di forma aumenta l’efficienza della forcella, ottenendo un miglior compromesso tra aerodinamica, peso e rigidità, rispetto allo stesso profilo con coda continua.

The handling of a Wilier bike is one of its most treasured attributes. We continually search for ways to further improve the solid feel at the front end, which has led to some of the most significant of the Cento1 SR’s enhancements. We found that a new way of positioning the down tube and top tube with respect to the head tube creates a virtual increase of the head tube’s height, which makes it 14% stiffer in terms of torsional rigidity. The top tube approaches the head tube at a downward angle while the down tube is angled upwards as it joins the head tube and the Integrated Fork. This junction is traditionally like the point of a triangle, but this new angle and positioning makes it more like a square, which is stiffer. The back of the fork’s brake hole is tucked into the down tube, keeping it clean and protected from the elements. The Integrated Fork design also creates an aerodynamic profile that reduces drag. Drawing from research implemented in development of our Twin Blade, the Cento1 SR’s fork legs are designed for optimal stability and aerodynamics. Like the proven Kamm truncated tail concept implemented in our time trial models, both the Cento1 SR’s integrated seatmast and fork legs benefit from this structural innovation, thereby attaining a perfect balance of lightweight, aerodynamics and steerability.

BB386EVO è il nuovo sistema integrato per il movimento centrale firmato Wilier Triestina - FSA. Il box del movimento centrale è più lungo (86,5 mm) e presenta un diametro maggiorato (46 mm) per ospitare una guarnitura in carbonio con un perno da 30 millimetri, particolarmente rigida e leggera. BB386EVO aumenta notevolmente rigidità del telaio e riduce al minimo la dispersione di forza nella pedalata.

The BB386EVO system takes the oversized bottom bracket design concept, which was successfully introduced by Wilier Triestina in the Cento1 model and subsequent variations, to its next evolution. To obtain an unprecedented stiffness at a crucial point of the frame, we have devised an innovative system that can perfectly incorporate an ultra-stiff crank into an ultra-stiff frame. The traditional BB30 system proved inadequate because it requires a frame with a 68 mm box, which is too narrow to deliver the degree of stiffness that we wanted. With this in mind, we developed the new standard BB386EVO in collaboration with FSA, which pairs a carbon crank with a longer 30 mm spindle and a wider 86.5 mm bottom bracket box.

Zero.7 segna l’avvento di una tecnologia esclusiva di Wilier Triestina: S.E.I. Film (Special Elastic Infiltrated). L’inserimento tra gli strati del carbonio di un materiale “viscoelastico” di cui non è possibile rivelare la composizione, ne accresce la capacità di assorbire le vibrazioni e la resilienza, cioè la resistenza all’impatto. Questo nuovo materiale è stato già ampiamente sperimentato nei settori aeronautici ed automobilistici ad alte prestazioni. Per la prima volta trova ora applicazione nella costruzione di biciclette.

Zero.7 marks the implementation of an exclusive new Wilier Triestina technology: S.E.I. Film (Special Elastic Infiltrated). The injection of a proprietary viscoelastic film between layers of carbon increases vibration absorption and impact resistance, therefore making the frame safer and more comfortable. This new material has already been widely tested in the aeronautical and automotive industries with excellent results.

It is now being applied in the construction of bicycles for the first time.

Nel reggisella integrato il diametro interno del tubo è di 31,6 mm, adattabile quindi anche ad un supporto tradizionale. Nella parte inferiore il tubo aumenta progressivamente di diametro per conferire rigidità al telaio. Assieme al movimento centrale integrato, consente un risparmio di peso pari a 120 grammi In addition to our Wilier Frame Testing procedures implemented during production, Wilier Triestina has chosen to have its products undergo the most rigorous testing in the bike industry in order to conform with the latest safety standards established by the European Community. Only products that have been exhaustively tested at CSI’s internationally renowned quality control center by accomplished engineers, physicists and chemists are awarded CSI certification “UNI EN 14781.”

Una delle peculiarità di questo telaio è lo sterzo a diametri differenziati. La parte superiore misura 1”1/8, mentre la base è da 1”1/4. L’EVOLUZIONE DELLA SPECIE THE EVOLUTION OF SPECIES Un telaio che pesa meno di 800 grammi, un materiale inedito che esalta le virtù del carbonio, un movimento centrale super-rigido che non ammette dispersioni di forza. Zero.7 è la bicicletta più leggera mai realizzata da Wilier Triestina ed è nata con un obiettivo preciso: fissare nuovi standard nella concezione delle più sofisticate biciclette da corsa. Una delle novità sviluppate con Zero.7 è BB386EVO, il sistema integrato per il movimento centrale che Wilier Triestina ha messo a punto con la collaborazione di FSA. Il box del movimento centrale presenta una lunghezza e un diametro maggiori rispetto agli standard tradizionali, con risultati stupefacenti in termini di rigidità. Per rendere il telaio più sicuro e confortevole abbiamo inserito un materiale dalla formulazione segreta (S.E.I. Film) fra gli strati di carbonio.

Questo ritrovato ci ha consentito di compiere un notevole passo avanti nell’assorbimento delle vibrazioni e nella resistenza all’impatto.

Un’altra peculiarità di Zero.7 è lo sterzo a diametri differenziati: 1”1/8 all’estremità superiore, 1”1/4 in quella inferiore. Questa particolare soluzione produce un bilanciamento ottimale fra la rigidità e la manovrabilità della bicicletta. La novità della stagione 2014 è il sistema 2-in-1 che permette di allestire nello stesso telaio, sia gruppi meccanici che elettronici.

A frame that weighs less than 800 grams, a novel material that enhances carbon’s virtues, a super-stiff bottom bracket that will not stand for any power loss. Zero.7 is the lightest bike that Wilier Triestina has ever built and it was created with one goal in mind: to set new designing standards for the most sophisticated racing bikes. BB386EVO, the new integrated bottom bracket developed by Wilier Triestina with FSA, is one of the Zero.7’s latest innovations. The bottom bracket box is wider and boasts a greater diameter than conventional standards to yield an astonishing stiffness. A secret material (S.E.I. Film) has been injected between the carbon fibre layers to supply a safer frame and a more comfortable ride. This new solution has allowed us to make a huge leap forward and to provide greater vibration absorption and impact resistance. Zero.7 offers another distinctive feature: a differentiated diameter steering tube. with its top measuring 1”1/8 and its base 1”1/4. This unique solution yields the finest balance of stiffness and manoeuvrability. The 2-in-1 system that allows to set both mechanical and electronic group sets into the same frame is the 2014 season’s latest innovation.

L’abbiamo chiamato S.E.I. Film: Special Elastic Integrated. E’ un esclusivo materiale “viscoelastico” che abbiamo inserito fra gli strati di carbonio del telaio per aumentare l’assorbimento delle vibrazioni e la resistenza all’impatto. La rigidità ha il vantaggio di contrastare la dissipazione della forza muscolare: per questo in Zero.7 utilizziamo fibre ad altissimo modulo come il T60. Ma la rigidità non va d’accordo con il comfort. Con S.E.I. Film siamo riusciti a mantenere inalterato il rendimento del telaio (la velocità sviluppata con una data energia), riducendo l’effetto delle vibrazioni trasmesse dal suolo. Tutto ciò grazie alle straordinarie proprietà di questo ritrovato, già impiegato con risultati sorprendenti nelle racchette dei più forti tennisti al mondo. S.E.I. Film vuol dire anche meno peso, in quanto rende necessaria una minore quantità di carbonio dal modulo elastico.

We’re calling it S.E.I. (Special Elastic Integrated) Film, an exclusive viscoelastic material we insert between the Zero.7’s carbon layers to improve vibration dampening properties while making the frame more impact resistant. In order to maximize efficiency through lateral stiffness, we utilize high modulus T60 carbon. At the same time, our frames must provide comfort to prevent vibration-induced fatigue. Wilier’s proprietary S.E.I. Film implementation has enabled us to preserve stiffness and efficiency while dampening vibration. The use of viscoelastic film in carbon composites is already a proven technology in racket sports at the highest level, as well as in the aeronautical and automotive industries. The Zero.7 is evidence, once again, that a bike can be super-lightweight, laterally stiff and responsive, while providing all-day comfort to help riders of all levels perform at their very best.

Il sistema BB386EVO porta alla sua massima evoluzione il concetto costruttivo del movimento centrale oversize, introdotto con successo da Wilier Triestina nel modello Cento1 e nelle successive varianti. Per ottenere una rigidità senza precedenti in un punto cruciale del telaio abbiamo pensato ad un sistema innovativo, in grado di incorporare perfettamente una guarnitura rigida in un telaio rigido. Il tradizionale BB30 risultava inadeguato in quanto richiede nel telaio una scocca da 68 mm, troppo ridotta per esprimere il livello di rigidità da noi ricercato. Partendo da questo presupposto, in collaborazione con FSA abbiamo messo a punto il nuovo standard BB386EVO, che utilizza una guarnitura in carbonio con perno più lungo e una circonferenza maggiore nell’alloggiamento del movimento centrale.

The BB386EVO system takes the oversized bottom bracket design concept, which was successfully introduced by Wilier Triestina in the Cento1 model and subsequent variations, to its next evolution. To obtain an unprecedented stiffness at a crucial point of the frame, we have devised an innovative system that can perfectly incorporate an ultra-stiff crank into an ultra-stiff frame.

The traditional BB30 system proved inadequate because it requires a frame with a 68 mm box, which is too narrow to deliver the degree of stiffness that we wanted. With this in mind, we developed the new standard BB386EVO in collaboration with FSA, which pairs a carbon crank with a longer 30 mm spindle and a wider 86.5 mm bottom bracket box.

INTEGRATED FORK + VIRTUAL HEAD TUBE La ricerca di una maggiore stabilità di guida ha focalizzato e concentrato gli studi sull’ area dello sterzo. È questa una delle maggiori novità proposte da Cento1SR. Un nuovo posizionamento del tubo obliquo e del tubo orizzontale rispetto al tubo di sterzo aumenta virtualmente l’ altezza di quest’ ultimo. L’aumento virtuale che si genera, paragonato alla medesima taglia di Cento1, incrementa la rigidità torsionale del 14%. Nella nuova configurazione ribassata, il tubo obliquo che si integra perfettamente con la testa della forcella genera un profilo aerodinamico capace di ridurre la resistenza all’aria. Il foro d’ingresso della bussola per il freno così nascosto dal tubo obliquo, si mantiene pulito e ben protetto. Il nuovo design aerodinamico che ne risulta dona allo sterzo un notevole rigore estetico, caratterizzato da linee semplici ed armoniose. Gli steli della forcella seguono le medesime caratteristiche aerodinamiche adoperate sul modello TwinBlade. I foderi della forcella penetrano l’aria con una forma affusolata mentre il retro segue con un profilo squadrato tecnicamente chiamato a “coda tronca”. La combinazione di queste due soluzioni di forma aumenta l’efficienza della forcella, ottenendo un miglior compromesso tra aerodinamica, peso e rigidità, rispetto allo stesso profilo con coda continua.

In order to supply a greater steering stability, we focused and converged our research on the steering area. This is one of the most significant new features offered by Cento1SR. We found that by repositioning the down tube and the top tube with respect to the head tube, the head tube’s height virtually increases. Compared with a Cento1 of the same size, it supplies a 14% stiffer torsional rigidity. With this new lowered configuration, the down tube seamlessly integrates with the head of the fork and generates an aerodynamic profile that reduces drag. The fork’s brake entry hole is hidden by the down tube which keeps it clean and well protected. This new aerodynamic design, characterized by simple and harmonious lines, bestows remarkable aesthetic rigor to the front end. The fork’s legs boast the same aerodynamic features of the TwinBlade model. The fork legs cut into the wind with a tapered shape while the rear follows with a square profile, technically defined as a “truncated tail”. Compared with the same kind of profile and with a continuous tail design, the fork’s efficiency is increased by combining these newly shaped structures thereby yielding the best compromise between aerodynamics, weight and stiffness.

INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE Un’ulteriore evoluzione sul sistema di trasmissione comandi è l’introduzione dei cavi all’interno del telaio. L’INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE (IAP) è uno speciale dispositivo di fissaggio e regolazione dei cavi comandi. La perfetta integrazione dell’IAP nel telaio, rende Cento1SR visivamente molto pulito e privo di elementi esposti alla resistenza dell’aria. Facilmente riposizionabile per la compatibilità con gruppi elettronici, l’INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE permette di integrare i cavi all’interno del telaio e di reindirizzarli verso la scatola movimento. Combinato con la speciale piastrina passa cavi, posta sotto la scatola movimento, l’IAP mantiene i cavi ben distanziati dalle superfici interne del tubo obliquo. Avere un cavo che non rispetta questa posizione rischia di causare fastidiosi rumori e perdite di efficienza nella cambiata. Grazie agli appositi registri interposti tra l’IAP e le guaine, il gruppo meccanico è sempre registrabile, anche durante l’utilizzo. L’ergonomica interfaccia e il suo facile raggiungimento permettono al ciclista di trovare rapidamente la giusta regolazione di cambiata.

The cable system has been further enhanced by routing the cables inside the tube’s frame. Our INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE (IAP) is a special device which allows to fasten and adjust cables. IAP seamlessly integrates with the frame, thereby bestowing Cento1SR a very clean look where no elements are exposed to air resistance. Easily interchangeable to be compatible with different electronic group sets, the INTEGRATED PLATE ADJUSTER allows to route cables inside the tube’s frame and to redirect them towards the bottom bracket. Combined with the special cable gland plate located under the bottom bracket, IAP keeps cables neatly spaced from the down tube’s inside surface. Noise and shifting efficiency loss can occur when a cable does not maintain its position. Thanks to the special registers placed between IAP and cable housings, the mechanical group set can be adjusted at any time, even while riding. The within reach ergonomic interface allows a rider to quickly set the appropriate shifting adjustment.

3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE (3D ICRP) I percorsi che seguono le guaine e i cavi all’interno del telaio sono stati anch’essi oggetto di attentissimi studi. La progettazione e l’analisi hanno puntato a garantire la miglior scorrevolezza possibile ai cavi di trasmissione comandi. Il risultato? Un nuovo concetto applicato, esclusivo per il telaio Cento1 SR. Si tratta di una nuova tipologia di piastrina passa cavi integrata sotto la scatola movimento. Una piastrina standard normalmente indirizza i due cavi di comando - cambio e deragliatore - con uguali angolature. La 3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE ha una sede studiata appositamente per garantire un raggio di curvatura ottimizzato per i diversi funzionamenti di ciascun cavo. Nel caso del cambio far si che il cavo rimanga sospeso all’interno del fodero posteriore orizzontale. Nel deragliatore invece, far si che il cavo raggiunga il punto di fissaggio al deragliatore senza forzarne il naturale raggio di curvatura. Come per l’IAP, anche il 3D ICRP viene perfettamente integrato con il telaio. La forma compatta ed incassata nel telaio genera una superficie continua dal punto di vista aerodinamico, migliorando la penetrazione dell’aria rispetto ai modelli con piastrina tradizionale. Un altro punto a favore sull’aerodinamicità di Cento1 SR. We have also examined very carefully how to route cables and cable housings inside the frame. We were aiming for the smoothest cable operations when we designed and analyzed this system. The result? A new concept employed only for the Cento1 SR frame. It consists of a new type of cable routing plate that has been incorporated below the bottom bracket. A standard plate normally directs the two cables – front and rear derailleurs - with equal angling. The 3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE location has been especially designed to ensure an optimized arch for each of the two cables different operations. We made sure that the rear derailleur cable is kept suspended inside the chain stays, while ensuring that the front derailleur cable reaches the spot where it connect with the derailleur without any constrain that would change its natural arch. 3D ICRP seamlessly integrates with the frame as does IAP. Its compact shape flushly fits into the frame yielding a continuous aerodynamic surface for an enhanced air penetration compared to other conventional plate models. Another aerodynamic benefit offered by Cento1 SR.

The rear stays are formed by two monocoque structural elements. The rear triangle’s top and down tubes become a single unit, without any joining elements, thereby offering considerable benefits in terms of bike’s responsiveness.

ASYMMETRIC REARSTAYS

Riteniamo che una bicicletta indirizzata ai professionisti debba dare il meglio in ogni suo aspetto: il tubo sella integrato permette al telaio di raggiungere questo punto di massimo: un apice di equilibrio tra prestazioni meccaniche, peso e confort. Il nuovo reggisella integrato di Cento1 SR migliora anche sotto il punto di vista dell’aerodinamica grazie allo speciale profilo a “coda tronca”.

We believe that a bicycle targeted to professionals should offer the best performances from every standpoint. An integrated seatpost allows the frame to achieve these peak performances, by supplying an ideal balance of mechanical operations, weight and comfort. Cento1 SR’s new integrated seatpost also offers improved aerodynamics thanks to the special truncated tail design.

INTEGRATED DROPOUT Il carro continua a rimanere asimmetrico, marchio di fabbrica che contraddistingue Cento1. Il braccio destro è abbassato per favorire il passaggio della catena e per contrastarne la coppia generata. Il braccio sinistro invece resiste all’allungamento contestuale derivato dalla compressione sul braccio destro. I foderi posteriori, piuttosto sottili, garantiscono un ulteriore confort e ammorbidiscono le sollecitazioni verticali senza dissipare la forza muscolare.

Nessuna giunzione, niente colla né viti: i forcellini posteriori costituiscono un corpo unico con la parte inferiore del carro. Anche il punto d’incontro, tradizionalmente in alluminio, è parte del monoblocco in carbonio. Tutto questo è sinonimo di leggerezza e rigidità.

No joints, glue or screws: the dropouts are integrated with the rear stays to form a single unit. Also the joining section, usually built in aluminium, is part of the carbon monocoque unit. All of this means a greater lightweight and stiffness.

Il forcellino evolve e implementa il suo nome. Nasce il FORCELLINO 3D. Non più una semplice e piatta piastrina di fissaggio per il cambio. Ora il forcellino si sviluppa su una terza dimensione e diventa anche fermo guaina. Questa terza dimensione acquisita rende il forcellino particolarmente rigido rispetto alle piastrine di fissaggio tradizionali. Grazie alla sua generosa dimensione siamo riusciti a creare due fori (uno più grande per il meccanico e uno più piccolo per il cavo elettrico) per il passaggio delle guaine o cavi senza comprometterne la rigidità. Così facendo lo stesso forcellino può essere adoperato indistintamente con gruppi meccanici che elettronici. Nel caso del gruppo meccanico, il cavo comando del cambio, trovandosi in una posizione più vicina al punto di fissaggio, permette di utilizzare una guaina di raccordo più corta, facendo seguire a quest’ultima una curva naturale. Tutto questo migliora l’efficienza e la scorrevolezza della cambiata. Oltre al migliorato percorso in uscita, la posizione del fermoguaina, al di sopra del bloccaggio ruota, permette al cavo di mantenersi perfettamente sospeso all’interno del fodero e, come per il tratto nel tubo obliquo, la lontananza dalle superfici interne del telaio elimina eventuali rumori.Anche nel caso del gruppo elettronico, il punto di uscita del cavo è arretrato e posto al di sopra del bloccaggio della ruota. Si facilitano e si velocizzano così le operazioni di rimozione e fissaggio della ruota posteriore.

The dropout evolves and implements its name. The 3D DROPOUT is born. It is not a mere rear derailleur mounting plate anymore. The dropout now extends over a third dimension and serves also as a cable stop. This newly acquired third dimension leads to an especially stiff dropout compared to conventional fastening plates. Thanks to its generous size, we were able to create two holes (a larger one for the mechanic group set cable and a smaller one for the power cable) to route cable housings or cables without compromising dropout’s stiffness. In this manner, the dropout may be used both for mechanical and electronic group sets.

For mechanical group set, it allows to use a shorter cable housing sleeve and to have shifter cable follow its natural curve since the rear derailleur cable is located closer to the fastening point. This improves shifting efficiency and smoothness. The exit routing is not the only improvement. The cable stop has been positioned above the drive-side chainstay thereby maintaining the cable flawlessly suspended within the stay and, as for the internal cable routing through the down tube, at a distance from the frame’s inner surface to assure that there is no noise during movement. The wiring exit point of the electronic group set has also been optimized as it is setback and above the drive-side dropout. This feature facilitates and expedites rear wheel removal and fastening operations.

Nuovo sistema di trasmissione idraulica su freno a disco. Cento1SR si impreziosisce così di questa nuovissima tecnologia, disponibile ora su grande scala anche per le bici da strada. Non un semplice adattamento dal modello Cento1SR ma una vera e propria reinterpretazione del telaio in chiave freno a disco. Una forcella completamente ridisegnata, un carro posteriore rinnovato e predisposto all’alloggio del nuovo sistema frenante.

A new disc brake hydraulic drive system. Cento1SR is enhanced by this latest technology, which is now available also for road bikes on a large scale. This is not a mere adaptation of the Cento1SR model: this new frame is a reinterpretation made to suit the disc brake setting. REAR STAYS La forcella integrata si contraddistingue per avere una simmetria non tradizionale tra i suoi foderi. Non è più solo esclusiva del carro posteriore, ma ora anche la forcella anteriore diventa asimmetrica, caratteristica ben conosciuta in Cento1. I foderi sono stati disegnati con due stili diversi. Il fodero destro segue la forma aerodinamica a coda tronca che troviamo su Cento1SR. Il fodero sinistro invece è totalmente diverso. Più massiccio del destro comunque con un profilo aerodinamico, si inclina leggermente verso l’interno per contrapporsi alle forze generate al momento della frenata. Una forcella così assimetrica permette dunque di riequilibrare le forze generate dalla frenata mantendendo invariata la sensazione di equilibrio dato da un sistema frenante tradizionale.

The integrated fork is characterized by the non-traditional symmetry of the fork legs’ design. It is no longer a rear triangle’s prerogative, the well known feature of the Cento1 also extends to the fork which is now asymmetric. The legs feature two different design styles. The right fork leg takes on the truncated tail aerodynamic shape found on Cento1SR. The left fork leg is instead totally different. Heftier than the right one, and preserving a streamlined profile, it slopes slightly inward to counteract the forces that are produced when braking. Such an asymmetric fork allows to balance the forces produced by braking while preserving the sense of stability supplied by a conventional braking system.

Mentre il triangolo principale non è cambiato rispetto alla versione SR tradizionale (è stato solo aggiunto un foro per il passaggio del cavo idraulico) il carro posteriore è stato completamente rinnovato. Con una larghezza di 135mm ed il post mount alloggiato all’interno del fodero, il carro posteriore mostra la sua stretta parentela con 101XN, rimandendo comunque asimmetrico. Il cavo idraulico posteriore corre all’interno del telaio prima e nel fodero sinistro poi, uscendo in prossimità del fodero post verticale.

While the main triangle has not changed compared to the SR’s traditional version (we have only added a hole to route hydraulic cable), the rear triangle is fully renovated. With a 135mm width and the post mount housed within the stay, the rear triangle is still asymmetric and closely resembling the 101XN. The rear hydraulic cable runs initially inside the frame, then into the left stay, to exit further down near the seatstay.

torsionale del 14% rispetto a Cento1, grazie al nuovo posizionamento dei tubi obliquo ed orizzontale rispetto al tubo di sterzo ) abbiamo creato 2 piccoli canali sotto la testa forcella, seguendo il concetto del TwinFork nel TwinBlade. Questi due piccoli canali aiutano il controllo dei flussi d’aria, permettendo allo stesso tempo di avere una migliore rigidità. Il tubo obliquo nel suo nuovo posizionamento ribassato, si integra perfettamente con la testa della forcella generando un ulteriore profilo aerodinamico, capace di ridurre ancor più la resistenza all’aria. Il foro d’ingresso della bussola per il freno rimane così nascosto dal tubo obliquo, mantenendosi pulito e ben protetto.

The fork is the first part of the frame to hit wind resistance. This is where we began in our revolution of the Cento1. We posed a relatively simple question, which required an incredibly sophisticated answer. How do we replicate the aerodynamic efficiency of the TwinBlade’s fork, but in a conventional fork? Using the rigidity already developed in the Cento1SR’s integrated fork shape (a 14% increase in torsional rigidity in comparison with

Cento1, thanks to the repositioning of the down and horizontal tubes in relation to the head tube), we have now created 2 small channels below the fork’s crown, in line with the TwinFork concept in the TwinBlade. These two small channels aid airflow, while enabling increased rigidity. The down tube, in its new lowered position, integrates seamlessly with the fork crown while generating another air foil which is capable of reducing wind resistance even more. The fork’s brake entry hole is hidden by the down tube, which keeps it clean and well protected.

ASYMMETRIC REAR

AERO SEATPOST Grazie al massiccio movimento centrale BB386EVO abbiamo potuto disegnare dei foderi posteriori generosi e, come da lunga tradizione Wilier Triestina, asimmetrici. Concetto simbolo di Cento1, i posteriori orizzontali asimmetrici migliorano il rendimento della pedalata contrastando la coppia generata dalla catena.

Thanks to the massive BB386EVO bottom bracket shell, we have designed generous rear seatstays and, in keeping with the long-held Wilier Triestina tradition, they are asymmetric. Concept symbol of the Cento1, the asymmetric rear stays improve pedalling efficiency against the torque generated by the chain.

IUn progetto Wilier Triestina ed una produzione Ritchey, in carbonio monoscocca.L’abbiamo disegnato per integrarsi perfettamente con la sofisticata aerodinamica del telaio. Il meccanismo di bloccaggio è combinato. Semplice ed intelligente allo stesso tempo, restando aero e incredibilmente sicuro. Si tratta di due sistemi di fissaggio che lavorano assieme contemporaneamente. La prima parte, interna , blocca il reggisella sul telaio. La seconda, una fascetta, blocca il solo reggisella impedendo a quest’ultimo di slittare all’ interno del tubo sella.

A Wilier Triestina design and Ritchey production, in carbon monocoque. We’ve designed it to integrate seamlessly with the sophisticated aerodynamics of the frame. The locking mechanism is combined. Simple yet intelligent at the same time, the aero seatpost remains incredibly secure. There are two fastening systems, which work together simultaneously. The first internal part locks the saddle to the frame. The second, a clamp, locks the saddle in place by preventing it from slipping into the seat tube.

AERO REAR STAYS Con lo sviluppo del TwinBlade abbiamo imparato che se i foderi posteriori obliqui sono tenuti il più basso possibile l’aerodinamica del telaio migliora. Così abbiamo fatto anche con Cento1AIR, spingendo i foderi il più in basso possibile, rientrando dentro le norme UCI.Il freno posteriore è perfettamente coperto dai foderi. Come molte altre parti del telaio, anche i foderi verticali sono stati disegnati secondo la teoria di Kamm. Un taglio netto, che permette una “pinna” virtuale dal punto di vista aerodinamico, ma che permette di restare leggeri e all’interno delle regole UCI. Rispetto ad altre soluzioni, il freno posteriore si installa al telaio normalmente, con una normale chiave a brugola, senza nessun rinvio o terza parte in metallo.

In developing the TwinBlade we have learned that if the rear oblique seatstays are kept as low as possible, the aerodynamics of the frame are improved. This is what we have done also with the Cento1AIR, moving the stays as low as possible, within UCI standards. The rear brake is entirely covered by the stays. As with many other frame parts, the vertical stays have also been designed according to the Kamm theory.

A clean cut, creating a virtual “fin” from an aerodynamic point of view, but which still allows them to remain light and within UCI rules. Compared to other solutions, the rear brake installs to the frame in a standard way, with a normal socket wrench, without requiring additional parts.

33 3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE I percorsi che seguono le guaine e i cavi all’interno del telaio sono stati anch’essi oggetto di attentissimi studi. La progettazione e l’analisi hanno puntato a garantire la miglior scorrevolezza possibile ai cavi di trasmissione comandi. Si tratta di una nuova tipologia di piastrina passa cavi integrata sotto la scatola movimento. Una piastrina standard normalmente indirizza i due cavi di comando - cambio e deragliatore - con uguali angolature. La 3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE ha una sede studiata appositamente per garantire un raggio di curvatura ottimizzato per i diversi funzionamenti di ciascun cavo. Nel caso del cambio far sì che il cavo rimanga sospeso all’interno del fodero posteriore orizzontale. Nel deragliatore invece, permettere al cavo di raggiungere il punto di fissaggio al deragliatore senza forzarne il naturale raggio di curvatura. La forma compatta ed incassata nel telaio genera una superficie continua dal punto di vista aerodinamico, migliorando la penetrazione dell’aria rispetto ai modelli con piastrina tradizionale. Un altro punto a favore sull’aerodinamicità di Cento1AIR. We have also very carefully examined how to route cables and cable housing inside the frame. We were aiming for the smoothest cable operation when we designed and analyzed this system. It consists of a new type of cable routing plate that has been incorporated below the bottom bracket. A standard plate normally directs the two cables – front and rear derailleurs - with equal angling. The 3D INTEGRATED CABLE ROUTING PLATE location has been especially designed to ensure an optimized arch for each of the two cables’ different operations. We made sure that the rear derailleur cable is kept suspended inside the chain stays, while ensuring that the front derailleur cable reaches the spot where it connects with the derailleur without any constraint that would change its natural arch. 3D ICRP seamlessly integrates with the frame like IAP. Its compact shape flushly fits into the frame yielding a continuous aerodynamic surface for enhanced air flow compared to other conventional plate models. Yet another aerodynamic benefit offered by Cento1AIR.

INTEGRATED CABLES Un’ulteriore evoluzione sul sistema di trasmissione comandi è l’introduzione dei cavi all’interno del telaio. L’INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE è uno speciale dispositivo di fissaggio e regolazione dei cavi comandi. La perfetta integrazione dell’IAP nel telaio, rende Cento1AIR visivamente molto pulito e privo di elementi esposti alla resistenza dell’aria. Facilmente riposizionabile per la compatibilità con gruppi elettronici, l’INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE permette di integrare i cavi all’interno del telaio e di reindirizzarli verso la scatola movimento. Combinato con la speciale piastrina passa cavi, posta sotto la scatola movimento, l’IAP mantiene i cavi ben distanziati dalle superfici interne del tubo obliquo.

Avere un cavo che non rispetta questa posizione rischia di causare fastidiosi rumori e perdite di efficienza nella cambiata. Grazie agli appositi registri interposti tra l’IAP e le guaine, il gruppo meccanico è sempre registrabile, anche durante l’utilizzo. L’ergonomica interfaccia e il suo facile raggiungimento permettono al ciclista di trovare rapidamente la giusta regolazione di cambiata.

Our cable system has been further enhanced by routing the cables inside the frames’s tubes. Our INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE (IAP) is a special device which allows for the fastening and adjusting of cables.

IAP seamlessly integrates with the frame, thereby bestowing Cento1SR with a very clean look where no elements are exposed to air resistance. Easily interchangeable to be compatible with different electronic group sets, the INTEGRATED ADJUSTER PLATE allows one to route cables inside the tubes and to redirect them towards the bottom bracket. Combined with the special cable guide plate located under the bottom bracket, IAP keeps cables neatly spaced from the down tube’s inside surface. Noise and shifting efficiency loss can occur when a cable does not maintain its position. Thanks to the special barrel adusters placed between IAP and the cable housing, the mechanical group set can be adjusted at any time, even while riding. The within-reach ergonomic interface allows a rider to quickly set the appropriate shifting adjustment.

Il forcellino non più una semplice e piatta piastrina di fissaggio per il cambio. Ora il forcellino si sviluppa su una terza dimensione e diventa anche fermo guaina. Questa terza dimensione acquisita rende il forcellino particolarmente rigido rispetto alle piastrine di fissaggio tradizionali. Grazie alla sua generosa dimensione siamo riusciti a creare due fori (uno più grande per il meccanico e uno più piccolo per il cavo elettrico) per il passaggio delle guaine o cavi senza comprometterne la rigidità. Così facendo lo stesso forcellino può essere adoperato indistintamente con gruppi meccanici che elettronici. Nel caso del gruppo meccanico, il cavo comando del cambio, trovandosi in una posizione più vicina al punto di fissaggio, permette di utilizzare una guaina di raccordo più corta, facendo seguire a quest’ultima una curva naturale. Tutto questo migliora l’efficienza e la scorrevolezza della cambiata. Oltre al migliorato percorso in uscita, la posizione del fermoguaina, al di sopra del bloccaggio ruota, permette al cavo di mantenersi perfettamente sospeso all’interno del fodero e, come per il tratto nel tubo obliquo, la lontananza dalle superfici interne del telaio elimina eventuali rumori. Anche nel caso del gruppo elettronico, il punto di uscita del cavo è arretrato e posto al di sopra del bloccaggio della ruota. Si facilitano e si velocizzano così le operazioni di rimozione e fissaggio della ruota posteriore.

The dropout evolves and implements its name. The 3D DROPOUT is born. It is not a mere rear derailleur mounting plate anymore. The dropout now extends over a third dimension and serves also as a cable stop. This newly acquired third dimension leads to an especially stiff dropout compared to conventional fastening plates. Thanks to its generous size, we were able to create two holes (a larger one for the mechanic group set cable and a smaller one for the electronic cable) to route cable housing or cables without compromising the dropout’s stiffness. In this manner, the dropout may be used both for mechanical and electronic group sets. For the mechanical group set, it allows one to use a shorter cable housing sleeve and to have the shifter cable follow its natural curve since the rear derailleur cable is located closer to the fastening point. This improves shifting efficiency and smoothness. The exit routing is not the only improvement. The cable stop has been positioned above the drive-side chainstay, thereby keeping the cable flawlessly suspended within the stay. The internal cable routing through the down tube is kept at a distance from the frame’s inner surface to assure that there is no friction during shifting. The wiring exit point of the electronic group set has also been optimized as it is setback and above the drive-side dropout. This feature facilitates and expedites rear wheel removal and installation.

PERFETTO EQUILIBRIO Se la dinastia Cento1 è riservata agli sportivi d’avanguardia, Zero.9 incontra l’esigenza del ciclista abituato ad una bicicletta da corsa in carbonio con uno stile classico: telaio dal design tradizionale, tubi arrotondati, cavi esterni, reggisella non integrato, colori sobri. Non per questo Zero.9 è sinonimo di bici non tecnologica.

Anzi. Abbiamo creato una bicicletta adoperando lo stesso tipo di carbonio usato sul Cento1, sfruttando contemporaneamente tutte le altre tecnonolgie disponibili su Zero.7: movimento centrale BB386 a larghezza maggiorata, tubo sterzo a diametri differenziati con 1”1/8 all’estremità superiore e 1”1/4 in quella inferiore.

Abbiamo aggiunto qualche decina di grammi al peso di Zero.7 fino a raggiungere l’equilibrio tra rigidità e peso emblema di Zero.9: un telaio in fibra di carbonio monoscocca dal peso inferiore ai 990 grammi.

If the Cento1 dynasty is reserved for cutting-edge racing, the Zero.9 meets the requirements of those riders that are used to a classic carbon racing bike style: traditionally shaped frame, round tubes, external cable routing, non-integrated seatpost, more demure colours. This does not mean that Zero.9 is not high tech.

Quite the contrary. We created a bicycle that uses Cento1’s carbon composites and exploits all of the Zero.7’s technologies: BB386 bottom bracket with an increased width and a differentiated diameter steering tube that measures 1 “1/8 at the top and 1” 1/4 at the base. We have added a few more grams to the Zero.7’s weight until we achieved the blend of stiffness and weight that distinguishes the Zero.9: a carbon fibre monocoque frame weighing less than 990 grams.

All of the GranTurismo experience flows in its soul. Other than for the most extreme racers, this is the single most beloved frameset of all. In its second life, GTR inherits Granturismo’s carbon fiber composite and acquires a renewed tapered head tube. Internal cable routing has been revolutionized making assembling the frame easier. Thanks to the Smooth Rear Design system, it continues to boast the same comfort where vertical vibrations are dampened without dissipating muscle power. Torsional stiffness and stability continue to be assured by the Razor Edge Design: the profiles that branch out from the seat tube and bottom bracket join near the headset. The edging that runs along the full extent of the fork makes the front end remarkably stable and receptive when pedalling out of the saddle.

Its new elegant finishes are the result of Wilier Triestina’s research and care for technical and aesthetic details.

GTS è una speciale versione di GTR in cui la geometria con sterzo rialzato ed angoli riveduti permettono al ciclista di non affaticare il fisico nelle medie e lunghe distanze. In GTS troviamo comunque tutte le caratteristiche costruttive adoperate in GTR, partendo dal collaudatissimo carro posteriore che si avvale del rear smooth design. Le sollecitazioni verticali vengono assorbite, senza disperdere un solo watt di potenza. Il razor edge design invece dà ulteriore sicurezza a chi si trova a pedalare su GTS. Lavorare con i professionisti ci ha fornito il know-how per rivoluzionare concetti costruttivi che sembravano incrollabili. E per fondarne di inediti. Una nuova sfida è lanciata.

When your competitor is the clock, building a bike takes on an additional scientific dimension. Drag coefficients, laminar vs turbulent airflow, aerodynamic shape optimization, yaw angles, combined bike-rider footprints and composites technology are only some of the aspects we address. Then there are countless hours we spend in the wind tunnel to test hypotheses and prototypes before final validation by our professional riders. Prima di TwinBlade il vento era un avversario da battere, ora è un nostro alleato. Questo telaio si fonda su un principio nuovo: controllare i flussi d’aria e recuperare l’energia normalmente dissipata con la deformazione e gli attriti. I foderi del carro e della forcella sono a distanza tale da annullare l’interferenza con le turbolenze generate dalle ruote. I freni Aerobrake posteriori sono collocati al di sotto dei foderi orizzontali, nascosti all’azione dell’aria da un cockpit in carbonio. TwinBlade utilizza anche un sistema innovativo di regolazione della lunghezza del carro, che ha il vantaggio di mantenere sempre invariata la distanza fra cambio e cassetta pignoni. Il dispositivo di bloccaggio del reggisella è integrato nel telaio e assolutamente neutro dal punto di vista aerodinamico. Anche l’esposizione esterna dei cavi di cambio e freni è stata ridotta al minimo. Inoltre, per migliorare la regolazione del deragliatore ci siamo avvalsi di un attacco in grado di allineare perfettamente qualsiasi deragliatore in funzione della guarnitura montata. Ma il vero asso nella manica di TwinBlade è l’avantreno: la speciale forcella Twin Fork, in corso di brevetto, offre il più alto rapporto mai ottenuto fra rigidità e aerodinamica, con un vantaggio enorme nelle partenze e nei rilanci. E’ dotata di due stabilizzatori di flusso che riducono le perturbazioni aerodinamiche. In aggiunta alla straordinaria rigidità conferita all’avantreno, si ottiene un incredibile recupero di energia dissipata durante l’azione atletica.

A NEW WAY TO TAME THE WIND Our approach to aerodynamic design consists of seeing wind and airflow as allies. Our TwinBlade respects the nature of airflow and seeks to manage it at every opportunity in order to maximize efficiency by diminishing air turbulence and resistance. Chainstays, seatstays and fork legs have a wider profile in order to distance them from turbulent air generated by spinning wheels. Our Aerobrake design likewise widens the structural profile of calipers to remove them from the path of rotational air turbulence. The rear Aerobrake is positioned below chainstays and housed within a carbon shell to hide it entirely from the flow of air. The rear dropout system enables precise positioning of the rear wheel via four adjustment bolts to establish ideal wheelbase and alignment of cogset in relation to the rear derailleur, including during wheel changes. The TwinBlade also boasts an integrated seatpost binder assembly housed within the top tube. This expansion assembly securely anchors the airfoil seatpost within the aero seat tube while preserving seamless aerodynamics. Internal routing also minimizes exposure of brake and cable housing. Our orbital front derailleur adjustment bolt ensures proper positioning of the front derailleur. These features facilitate optimal orientation in relation to chainrings across all prominent drivetrain systems for easier setup and optimal shifting performance. The most visually dramatic aspect of the TwinBlade is its front end, which features another Wilier Triestina exclusive destined to change the way aero bikes are designed: the Twin Fork. This component of the TwinBlade provides a new level of stability in the front end, as well as setting the standard in airflow management. The fork legs act as flow stabilizers to minimize turbulence, while their integration with handlebars diminishes structural deformation and flex.

Il modello Blade utilizza la stessa scocca di TwinBlade, dal quale si differenzia per l’uso di una forcella di tipo tradizionale e di un carbonio di differente composizione.

L’alloggiamento dei cavi dei freni e del cambio scorre all’interno del telaio, con un ottimo risultato aerodinamico. Il freno anteriore è di tipo tradizionale, mentre il posteriore mutua la soluzione di TwinBlade con il “V” brake a scomparsa. ASYMMETRIC REARSTAYS Nel posteriore asimmetrico troviamo la maggiore somiglianza con il Cento1 SR da strada. Ribadiamo le importanti ragioni che ci inducono a scegliere questa soluzione costruttiva sul carro posteriore. Anche qui il braccio destro è modellato per favorire il passaggio della catena e per contrastarne la coppia impressa. La parte sinistra segue invece un proprio disegno speciale per due ragioni: resistere all’allungamento contestuale derivato dalla compressione della catena sul braccio destro e dar spazio all’alloggiamento per il post mount, integrato all’interno del fodero stesso.

The greatest similarity with the Cento1 road bike lays in its asymmetric rearstays. We reiterate the important reasons that lead us to opt for this rear designing solution. The drive-side chainstay has been moulded to ease chain passage and to counteract chain torque also in this bike. The left side instead follows its own special design for two reasons: to oppose the contextual elongation resulting from the compression of the drive-side chainstay and to provide room for the post mount lodging which is integrated into the stay.

Una soluzione che permette l’ingresso dei cavi all’interno del telaio, indirizzandoli con un’angolatura ottimale verso la scatola movimento centrale. Tutto questo tiene distanziato i cavi dalle pareti interne del telaio, evitando fastidiosi rumori nei momenti di maggiore sollecitazione. Questa speciale placchetta predispone 101XN per un futuro gruppo elettronico.

As for the Cento1SR and the Cento1AIR, 101XN’s cables are routed into the frame thanks to our special integrated cable gland plate. A solution that allows to run cables inside the frame and to direct them towards the bottom bracket with optimal angling. All this keeps cables away from the frame’s inner walls preventing annoying noise in harsh conditions. This special plate will enable the installation of the electronic group set into the 101XN.

Un restyling per la bici che omaggia il paese di Casa Wilier: Rossano Veneto. Il design è stato rivisto alleggerendo il tubo obliquo, sostanziali modifiche anche al cambio, non più inserito nel mozzo, ma di tipo classico. Cambio posteriore a 10 velocità, guarnitura tripla sul davanti. Si conferma invece la validità del sistema di frenatura idraulico a disco.

The Rossano - named after the town which is home to our worldwide headquarters, Rossano Veneto - merited a makeover. This new frame design is similar to the 2012 version, with the exception of a lighter weight down tube for 2013. A significant change is the implementation of a rear derailleur, instead of an internal hub.

Last season’s finishes have been renewed. The weekend bike that pays homage to the town of Treviso, is now offered with an elegant matte black finish as well as with red and white accents: pure Wilier Triestina style.
