HOW TO MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER (AND CLEANER) WHEN WORKING WITH SOLID SURFACE MATERIALS

The TS55R can be adapted to give a perfect cut by using the correct blade for the correct material. For example, for a plastic based material the laminate blade is perfect. This has the correct tooth bevels to provide an entry cut for each tooth so the material is ‘scraped’ rather than directly cut. As the TS55R has variable speed, slow the speed of the blade to 3-4 and let the saw and blade do the work – the result is a cut that requires little re-work so less labour time is used = cash in the bank!!

... cont Wondering how to hold the rail in position without using screw clamps? The answer to this is simple and is based on suction. Rather than move a lump of heavy solid surface to fix the guide rail in position, it is easier to not to have to move the material and fix from above with the Gecko suction pads fitted to the rail. The result is a guide rail that can be freely positioned in seconds and less lifting, again this saves time and effort all the way through the job.

Solid surface when cut generates a huge amount of fine dust that needs to be extracted away from the work area but more importantly away from the air that is being breathed for the benefit of all in the vicinity. The TS55R connected to an extractor will remove the waste simply and easily. The saw can be fitted with an ABSA fence and this increases the extraction rate and provides an easy way to work healthier. The extraction should be through an M class unit which comes with a 27mm hose. This will give great results but can be further enhanced when a 36mm hose is used. As a bigger volume of air is pulled through the 36mm hose, the extraction of the solid surface waste is excellent. Attaching the hoses is simple - all you do is push the hose on so the days of tape or add on sleeves is over when this system is used. Another benefit to this extraction system is that the extractors and hoses prevent you getting a static shock. Solid surface is notorious for producing static so you can work without the hairs on your arms sticking up!!
