And it’s been our way since 1933.

Over 79 years of accumulated skill and knowledge are infused into our current range of sports optics products. In fact, you could say optics are in our DNA. From our humble beginnings in 1933 making darkroom enlargers and special photographic lenses, through our popular and easy-to-use dual lens Flexaret cameras in the 1950s, to our present day global enterprise developing precision optical systems for virtually every high tech industry – we do it all on our own.

Our extensive in-house manufacturing and optical finishing capabilities allow us to deliver much more than just a “designed by” product – it allows us to realize our vision. At Meopta we’re proud to be doing the hard work: conceptualizing new optical innovations, perfecting our product features and performance, even recycling the aluminum shavings from our army of CNC machines and sweeping our shop floors.

HISTORICAL DETAIL

Optikotechna was started in Prerov by entrepreneur Alois Benes and physics professor Dr. Alois Mazurek.

Dr. Mazurek developed the first enlarging objective in Czechoslovakia.

Our old school past.

Optikotechna began production of high quality darkroom equipment, including enlargers and lenses that were noted for precision and accuracy.

Millions of amateur photographers got their start using our popular and simple-to-operate Flexaret dual lens cameras – with many still in use today.

Raw materials to finished product From raw glass to billet aluminum we cut, grind, polish, mill, anodize, assemble and finish to precise tolerances.

Our highly skilled team members turn out precision optical and structural components at our Prerov, CZ and Hauppauge, NY manufacturing facilities.

On to the future. Meopta employs over 2800 men and women worldwide and utilizes an army of the most advanced machine tools and optical research equipment.

The human touch. Robots and machines are great for speeding along production but it’s our skilled team members who ensure precision and perfection.

Meopta maintains one of the largest and most complete optical production facilities in the world. Reticles, glass grinding, polishing, advanced coatings are all produced in our state of the art complex.

Our in-house coating development facility allows us to produce the finest optical coatings for our own sports optics products as well as for other premium brands.

At the heart of our massive optics complex are our brilliant optical engineers, hard working optical finishers and dedicated inspectors ensuring your optic performs flawlessly.

Optics production, assembly and inspection is performed in multiple, climate controlled and spotless clean room environments. Our inhouse production guarantees perfection.

Meopta Sports Optics products are guaranteed to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the product.

In the event of malfunction or failure of your Meopta sports optic product, simply contact us at 800-828-8928 for a Return Authorization Number and return instructions. Please be advised that products returned to Meopta U.S.A., Inc. without a proper Return Authorization Number will not be accepted. Upon receipt of your properly returned product and confirmation that the malfunction or failure is a result of a defect covered by this warranty, Meopta shall, within 90 days of receipt and at its option, repair or replace the defective product. Any and all Meopta sports optics products sold outside the USA are not covered in any way under this warranty.

This warranty shall cover only defects arising under normal use. Meopta U.S.A., Inc. assumes no responsibility whatsoever for malfunctions, failures or defects resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, alteration, modification, acts of God or repairs by any entity other than a Meopta Authorized Service Center.
