Tracy Clephan, Head of Dietetics, retired from her role at the Trust in January. Tracy has worked 40 years in the NHS, starting in Leicester in 1981. She joined Leeds in 1993 as Head of Dietetics and has been in the role ever since, although with some reorganisations, which has meant she has led a number of different teams and services during her time at the Trust.
Tracy’s team ensured she had a terrific virtual send off where many staff, past and present, joined her to mark this end of an era. Tracy is re-joining the CSU team in a new, part-time role of Education and Training Project Lead. Her team hopes she enjoys the new post and makes the most of her new part-time hours!

Sarah Simpson
Sarah Simpson, Senior Sister at the Seacroft R&S unit retired at the end of January. Many people will know Sarah as she has worked for the Trust for 43 years. Her time included working at the Renal Unit at St James’s, then she opened the Cookridge Dialysis Unit and helped organise its transfer to Beeston when it closed. After that she ran both of the dialysis units at Seacroft Hospital. Sarah has been a key part of the renal haemodialysis team for a very long time. He team said: “We’ll miss her and appreciate her extensive contribution to the care of patients and staff in the renal service and the Trust. We are sure you will want to join us in wishing Sarah a long and very happy retirement.”

Linda Lewis
Linda Lewis retired from her role with the Prosthetic Service in December. Linda has worked for the Trust since 1984 and joined the Prosthetic Service in 2011. Linda was a valued member of the team and her knowledge, experience and leadership will be greatly missed by the whole of the Specialist Rehabilitation Service, who wish her good luck in the future.

Kathryn Coulson
Kathryn Coulson (previously Judson) was appointed in the Trust as a newly qualified Radiographer in 1976 at Leeds General Infirmary. In 1981 Kathy obtained a diploma in Medical Ultrasound and began working as a sonographer at the LGI and Leeds Maternity Hospital. Over the years Kathy has also worked at St James’s and Seacroft hospitals but has been mostly based in the ultrasound department at LGI. Kathy developed a keen interest in paediatric and obstetric ultrasound and has represented the department as obstetric screening co-ordinator as well as in many other roles. Kathy has mentored and trained numerous sonographers and radiologists over her time in the Trust passing on her extensive knowledge and experience in ultrasound. She has also supported sonographer training in the region by contributing to the Yorkshire Ultrasound User Group. Kathy is retiring almost exactly 45 years to the day her employment in the Trust commenced. She has been at the heart of the ultrasound department for so many years and has been a key member of the team. She will be greatly missed. All her colleagues in the Ultrasound Department would like to wish Kathy “Good Luck” in her new adventures and wish her well for the future.
