I am Jeanette, one of the Managers here at BigBox Huddersfield and I look after both the front of house and the LunchBox teams, making sure that everything runs smoothly and aiming to meet your every need. You can often find me running between the two, sat on reception or ferrying plates in the coffee shop during the busy times.
I’m so incredibly lucky to work with fantastic teams. Our reception team always try to be helpful, welcoming and greet you with a smile. We are happy to help – as is the team in LunchBox, which is our on-site café/bar.
LunchBox has recently updated the menu to include healthy and nutritious meals as well as protein shakes, smoothies and of course some comfort foods too. We try to be balanced in everything we do and offer a choice for everyone. We have also introduced seasonal specials and have some lovely winter warmers, along with a variety of tipples to treat yourself to if you wish.
Our Lunch Box events are really taking off. I have and will continue to work hard on making them great events. The success of the events has been the highlight of my job recently, seeing all of you enjoy yourself really does make me and our team happy!
We have many more ideas and events coming up so keep your eyes peeled!
As the festive season fast approaches and new year on the horizon I wish you all a happy, successful and healthy time ahead!

TOP TIP: Focus on yourself! Stop thinking and worrying about what others around you are doing, what they are lifting or where they are at in their progress. Everyone’s on a different journey. So don’t compare yourself in the gym or out to others around you or that you see on social media. Have healthy habits a structured plan, remember your reason why and be consistent, dial in on you!! Focus on you and your own journey and goals and celebrate your own wins, big or small every step of the way.

TOP TIP: Having a structured workout routine and tailored programs will help you reach your goals! Don’t wing it and hope, invest in a coach who cares about helping you.

TOP TIP: Stay consistent but stay patient - Results don’t happen overnight, so stay patient and consistent. Show up, keep pushing, and trust the process. Remember that fitness is a journey, and even small improvements are still progress.

TOP TIP: My top tip - consistency is key. Motivation can only get you so far it’s consistency which gets you to where you want to be. That session you didn’t skip or that meal plan you stuck to will truly drive you towards your goals. One,two, three bad days can always be turned into 3 good days - don’t let a blip set you back. It’s about being realistic with your goals and then applying them and being consistent with them.

At the October social we had a self care reflection quiz, we offered tips and advice on self care, we had hand massages, and our guest speaker explained about chakras and how they can benefit our health. We also had some lovely baking from our chef John.

The October social was fun & educational. It was great to learn how to massage hands, then have a very good outside speaker, on Chakras. Also, a lovely surprise to be offered treats to eat. BigBox is so much more than a gym it’s a way of life!
I am really happy I chose to attend the Bigbox social event on self-care with you both. I really enjoyed it and found it very useful for my everyday life.

Welcoming another 2 of our fitness instructors onto their PT journey in January as Danny & Danielle start their careers in the personal training sector.
LunchBox is now showing live sports events with the introduction of Sky Sports and TNT Sports being shown live in LunchBox. With this, we will also be increasing the food service time to 7am – 8pm daily so you can get your pre-game food to enjoy with the sporting events.
NEW YEAR PLANS
As we approach the festive period and the joys of the new year, we would like to inform you all of some measures that we are putting in place to make your experience the best it can be here at BigBox.
WAITING LIST
We will be introducing a waiting list from the 1st January for all new members wanting to join the club on our standard full membership. We have introduced this to ensure you get the most from your membership and the club remains user friendly.
What this means is new membership enquires will still be taken. We will however be monitoring spaces becoming available. If a member cancels or decides not to renew it will create a space for a new member to start at the club.
If there are any friends or family members that you would like to introduce to the club before we start our waiting list, please contact our membership team so they can help with their enquiry.
GUEST PASS USAGE
In January, we will be restricting the use of guest passes, so that everyone can continue to enjoy their experience. This will mean that all standard memberships will be allowed to bring guests as normal but only before 4pm each day.
This will be monitored continuously and we will try to remove this restriction as soon as possible, this is being put in place to ensure the club remains user friendly.
There will not be any restrictions on guest passes for PLUS members.
CAR PARK IMPROVEMENTS
We are currently working on a project and will be working tirelessly to have some major improvements to our car park completed to allow more parking and assist with the flow of traffic in the car park.
