Each of our herds bring you various genetics that will surely suit your needs, from performance bulls for cows to wonderful calving ease genetics for your heifer pasture. In reading the footnotes I see Dennis and I talk about our cows. We mention “beautiful” udders and “good” feet. I would say we strive hard for this. BULL MANAGEMENT Yarrow Creek Farm & Ranch We now use “LONG RANGE” with a noticeable improvement on gain come fall. We also pre vaccinate and use Quiet Wean nose tags prior to weaning with fantastic results. Bulls were weaned AUG21st,2020 and gradually introduced to a oats/barley ration. We slowly introduce them to a pellet ration from BULLSEYE FEEDS developed specifically for growing, and at all times are provided free choice hay and lots of straw. We are very happy with the development of the bulls on this pellet ration. After the sale, bulls are slowly weaned off of pellets and provided 100% of hay, ready for breeding.

Gurney Land & Livestock has always been a family run farm, but as our kids get older, they are becoming increasingly involved in bull preparation, day-to-day work and now even ownership. We’ve both added some Red Angus to our herds, with the first one for sale this year! Red or Black, heifer bulls or performance herd bulls, we have a great selection for what you are searching for. We always look forward to visiting with you, but his year especially we look forward to seeing and visiting with you. We don’t know what COVID restrictions will be in place on Sale Day, so we encourage you to come to the farm for a safe, “sociallydistanced” tour of the bulls and their mamas. You are welcome any time prior to the sale, so please don’t hesitate to give us a call to set up a time to walk through the bull pen at your convenience, or if you have any questions about sale procedures as the sale gets closer. BULL MANAGEMENT Gurney Land & Livestock All cows are run under commercial conditions, meaning the calves get no special treatment like creep feed and the cows are wintered on pasture. The bulls were weaned on September 13th and are started out on a ration of alfalfa silage and timothy hay. We then include in the ration a pellet ration from Bullseye Feeds for the growth and development of the bulls.

Rickards Red just keeps getting better! We now have some of his females milking and with perfect udders and lots of milk, could not be happier. We searched for a power bull and we found this Red U2 Unanimous son at Wheelers Stock Farm. He is an outcross bull with a black dam sired by the Canadian Show Bull of the year in 2011 DMM Creed 75W. The sire Red U2 Unanimous 113B was one of the high sellers at U2 ranch at $51,000. With the combination of Unanimous and Creed, nothing but power, but the best part is both pedigrees come from awesome cow families; U2 Anexa and Larkaba. After seeing some of the females produced from Harvestor 103C, we thought we could add him into our program to turn up a little performance. 103C is in the top 1% for WW, YW and also Carcass traits. Certificates of Registry: A certificate of registry will be duly transferred to the buyer by the breeder for each bull after complete and full payment has been made. Cattle Inspection & Identification: CCIA tags will be in all bulls. All bulls will be available for inspection prior to the sale. Fertility: All yearlings will be scrotal measured and palpated prior to the sale and all yearling purchases will be semen tested prior to delivery. All bulls will meet or exceed breed standards.
Breeding Guarantee: We guarantee to provide you with a sound breeding bull, capable of passing a breeding soundness evaluation performed by a licensed veterinarian. In the unlikely event of any dispute, the regular terms and conditions that are standard with the Canadian Angus and Canadian Simmental Associations shall apply. Customer satisfaction is paramount to us. Delivery of Bulls: We will offer free delivery within 200 km. of home; after that at cost. Delivery on the yearlings will commence early April unless prior arrangements have been made with the seller. Post Sale Bull Development: We will winter your yearling bull purchases free of charge until April 1, 2020. After that, feed at cost of $3/head/day will be charged. All bulls returning to the consignors’ must be insured. All bulls will be housed at buyers’ risk, the consignors will not be responsible for any type of injury while the bulls are in their care.
Bull Insurance: Ownership risk to the purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s gavel falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from our appointed representative on Sale Day. Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers; neither the sale staff nor the owners assume any responsibility in this manner and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property.
