LA RE-PERCUSIÓN DE PUPY Y LOS QUE SON SON

César Pedroso renovó el estilo de la Timba cuando decidió fundar su orquesta Pupy y los que Son Son, en 2001. La fusión de diferentes formatos musicales es el sello insigne de esta banda, en la que destacan el violín y la paila típicas de la charanga, el uso de los trombones del jazz band y en donde la trompeta transita por las melodías libres de la improvisación que caracterizan al son. Una combinación que ha permitido que esta agrupación se mantenga entre las favoritas del público cubano. Pupy y los que Son Son lanza este 2021 un nuevo álbum que renueva el sonido típico de la orquesta al otorgarle un lugar principal a la percusión en cada una de las canciones. Bajo el sello de la Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), se lanza Re-percusión un álbum con once singles que se convierte en un must-hear dentro de la escena sonera cubana. La producción musical de este nuevo álbum quedó en manos del propio César “Pupy” Pedroso, de Maykel García y de Roelvis Reyes, quienes se han encargado de las producciones de discos anteriores y han demostrado ser una combinación perfecta cuando de buena música se trata. El disco cuenta con la composición de Gustavo Cabañas, Dayan Carreras, Rodolfo Cárdenas y el mismo Pupy. En esta ocasión, además, se inician como compositores Alcibiades Durruthy y Lázaro L. Borrego, cantantes de la propia agrupación. Como sorpresa especial, Diana Díaz Trujillo se presenta como invitada para interpretar con la flauta el sencillo Solos tú y yo, aportándole una frescura y toque diferente a la canción, justo lo que Pupy y los que Son Son ha querido lograr con esta nueva producción musical. El lanzamiento de este disco se realizó, en un principio, de manera digital gracias a las diferentes plataformas sociales que permiten la distribución de material musical. Sin embargo, la disquera cubana asegura que en cuanto las condiciones sean favorables en el país el álbum podrá lanzarse en vivo y el público tendrá la oportunidad de adquirirlo en las diferentes tiendas EGREM que se encuentran por todo el país. Como añadido, Re-percusión formará parte de la recientemente creada plataforma cubana de descarga llamada Sandunga, propiedad de la Agencia Exportadora Soy Cubano de ARTEX S.A. y desarrollada por el grupo Lombao Estudios. Pupy y los que Son Son llevan 20 años revolucionando la escena musical cubana con sus ritmos soneros. Con esta entrega musical, la agrupación le ofrece a su público un álbum renovador que demuestra una vez más que la famosa agrupación tiene mucho que dar todavía. ¡Re-percusión ya está a tu alcance!

The Re-percussion of Pupy y los que Son Son

César Pedroso renewed the Timba style in 2001 when he founded his orchestra Pupy y los que Son Son. The fusion of different musical formats is the signature seal of this band, which highlights the violin and the paila drums typical of the charanga format, the use of trombones of the jazz band and where the trumpet moves through the free melodies of improvisation that characterize the Cuban Son genre. A combination that has allowed this group to remain among the favorites of the Cuban public. Pupy y los que Son Son releases this 2021 a new album that renews the characteristic sound of the orchestra by giving a leading role to the percussion in each of the songs. Re-percusión is released under the record label Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM), an album with eleven singles that has become a must-hear in the Cuban Son scene. The musical production of this new album was in the hands of César "Pupy" Pedroso himself, Maykel García and Roelvis Reyes, who have been in charge of the production of previous albums and have proven to be a perfect combination when it comes to good music. The album features compositions by Gustavo Cabañas, Dayan Carreras, Rodolfo Cárdenas and Pupy himself. On this occasion, Alcibiades Durruthy and Lázaro L. Borrego, singers of the group, debut as composers. As a special surprise, Diana Díaz Trujillo is invited to perform the single Solos tú y yo on the flute, giving the song a fresh and a different touch, just what Pupy y los que Son Son wanted to achieve with this new musical production. The release of this album was made, at first, digitally thanks to the different social platforms that allow the distribution of musical content. However, the Cuban record label assures that as soon as conditions are favorable in the country, the album will be released live and the public will have the opportunity to purchase it in the different EGREM stores throughout the country. In addition, Re-percusión will be part of the recently created Cuban download platform called Sandunga, owned by the Export Agency Soy Cubano of ARTEX S.A. and developed by the Lombao Estudios group.
