Michael Levin

Digital Arts, Painting, Graphics

I've been a graphic designer/ne arts artist for the last 25 years. At that time I utilized pencil, airbrush, oil paint, pastel in the creation of my early work With the advent of the computer, I produced as well as instructed at multiple universities. When the tools of digital graphics reached the level of my previous Fine Arts tools I made the switch permanently The purpose of the work is to drop the wall between ne arts and graphic arts to create a blend of the two.

Leigh-Ann Edrich

Illustration, Photography, Painting, Drawing, Digital Arts

Internationally known Fine Artist with a winning streak of publications, exhibitions and awards that started on 12 Jan 23 that has continued into 2024 with 32 new wins in 2024/100 total

A multi-talented artist that creates in every part of her life, Ilia began painting while maintaining a poetic pen pal relationship with a man named Ralph Grimes, who one day she sent a drawing to After he hung up the sketch and he told her of how many admirers praised the work, her condence and purpose as an artist was cemented Inspired by the creativity of her mother and grandfather through gardening, she learned at a mere three years of age and beyond that ‘life is a canvas ’ upon which we create She continued her poetry, yet was urged by Grimes to try her hand at painting

Her path was set Known for her ability to communicate exactly what the viewer wants in her commissioned pieces, she sold her rst wonderful work in 1987, titled ‘Cosi Fan Tuti ’ Her rst check for this validated her increasingly growing ability as an artist Ilia weaves a very spiritual feeling into both her writings and art Schooled by independent teachers, predominately Mr Grimes who held an MFA, she was rooted further in her work by teachings in Classical, Jazz, Big Band and more

Following the lyrical pulse of life, when Ilia paints, creates digital ne art or writes, she listens to music. Inuenced by Mozart, Vivaldi, Loeillet, Telemann, Purcell, Beethoven, Hayden, Bach, utist Jean-Pierre Rampal, and old time jazz, among more, these sounds help breathe life into her poetic, painterly work. Also heavily inuenced by writer, poet, photographer, musician, and lmmaker L Ron Hubbard, whose rational philosophy has guided her life, as well as inventor and artist Leonardo Di Vinci – she dubs her style as Dreamscapes as it has dierent colors and ows-reminiscent of her varying high minded inuences from art and musical composition to philosophy.

Ilia states, that she creates art in order to ‘inspire others to create ’ Indeed, her visions for her life, even beyond the canvass, are bright and noble. She adds, “I help other artists to make a living with their art because I found out that once I inspire others to create it elevates us all up higher-myself included And- at times that person isn’t going to continue unless there is a way or even several ways in which to make a living with their art, so I like to help teach them to do that ”

In addition to art, Ilia has now written a book titled “The Art of Mentoring” to share her successful actions for helping others! But for now, it is Ilia’s art that is worthy of much great attention When asked what clients collecting her work can expect, she concludes, “People can expect quality work that speaks to them. A person with my art can expect to look at it time and again nding new things to admire about it And a person can expect other people, when seeing it, to gravitate to it, look at it, admire and to continue to be drawn to the painting, looking and seeing more about it ” Unclear?

Hardly. Ilia is a rare, grounded woman with a vision, and possessing of a trained skill and condence in that vision, which speaks diligently- from the spirit to each work she creates- and from each work in turn to each client. It is with that understanding that we invite you to enjoy the exploration of this very vibrant and deserving artist

Nancy Jacey Drawing, Painting

Nancy Jacey is a native of Richmond, Virginia and had a love for drawing and illustration from a young age. Nancy is an award-winning published artist. Her work has been featured in American Art Collector (April 2021 issue), To The Point (June 2020 issue) and Northern Virginia Magazine (January 2020 issue ) Other notable publications are Color Magazine, the Richmond Times Dispatch and The Directory of Illustration In her free time, she teaches classes at her own studio, The Jacey Gallery, in Richmond, Virginia Artist Statement: Go big Despite what appears to be the current trend of murkiness and minimalism, I prefer minutia and meticulousness I work in acrylic, oil, and colored pencil Details are important That is why I prefer to create large-scale, photo realistic works that focus on oft-overlooked characteristics With that in mind, my process is admittedly a painstaking one, especially with my preference for Prismacolor pencils Some have critiqued this as a form of over analysis, but in pursuing the precision of specicity, I nd that the best way to emulate the world and capture things in a photo-realistic manner is to not cut corners, but rather to seek out as many minute elements as I can nd My colored pencil works often take hundreds of hours to complete This is because, to me, each portion of a composition no matter how small or seemingly insignicant is just as important as any other part

George Davis Painting

Originally from Texas, George Evan Davis has lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for almost 40 years. He started painting in high school and graduated from college in 1978 with a BA in Art and Psychology After declining acceptance into a graduate program in Art Therapy, he moved to Dallas to pursue his dream of taking the art world by storm However, after living the life of a starving artist he put his dream on hold and over the course of the next 45 years had two successful careers, one as an illustrator and graphic designer, and one as a massage therapist and body worker

Now that he has retired (and no longer starving), he has picked up where he left o and is following his dream of creating art full time

His portfolio consists of portraits/gures, “Moments In Time”, abstracts, and photography In his portraits and gures his goal is to convey the essence of the person or to communicate to the viewer something about who that person is The moment in time images are painted snapshots from his travels, environment, or everyday life. His abstract works run the gamut from brightly colored images that are experiments with dierent techniques, to the random unplanned patterns that happen on the shirt he wears , to images that have a deep meaning and background story.

Working primarily in oils and acrylics he has developed a style that can be described as uid and undened. Sometimes his work is realistic and representative, and other times it’s abstract and the concept determines the process and medium(s). Sometimes he has something very personal or political to say but at other times he paints just for the joy of creating something cool and beautiful

But, whatever the topic or medium, his goal is to create art that spreads a message of love of acceptance of beauty.

Painting, Photography

Another big impact in the focus of my work has been by the diverse cultural background I've been exposed to. I have had the good fortune of growing up between to countries, the U S and Chile: two unlike cultures each unique in people, ideas and overall styles. I've been, and still am exposed to this cultural diversity, so I decided to put myself in the position of being a “sponge” when it comes to all the information that I am perceiving and seeing about culture, systems, people, and places. This trend of thought has had a tremendous impact in my work and has also become a tool in my philosophy of art Throughout the years I have learned to represent this in a visual way All this has helped me develop my own style, as well as process of thinking in which I show other peoples stories, experiences and struggles through visual aesthetics with a provoking concept The works are presented via paintings, drawings and photographs; all part of the work that I have gather through the years The works are all carefully created and all contain technique, style, concept, and a path of learning What I try to show through this works is what I am seeing, feeling and perceiving of the world around me, which are all projected through dierent styles, techniques, and an extensive range of mediums

The drastic change from desert to city uprooted the spaciousness of my once home and instead naturally created clutter This clutter aected me mentally and I am now making an eort to compensate for this, which inevitably took me down a spiritual path. My work reects and strengthens this path, consisting in an attempt to visually represent the process of unication and inner alchemy that I am exploring I'm currently residing in a live/work studio loft in the middle of a busy downtown area, which gives me the opportunity to exercise my resilience and transformative skills of remaining in harmony with the unifying truths of our existence Directly being a part of a seemingly chaotic area while doing my part to emanate a much needed aspect of peace and tranquility within myself and others As an artist, I feel an innate responsibility to share my path with my art to not only help myself and my own journey but to also help others on theirs Hailing from the Los Angeles area, a place where material lust thrives, I often feel inclined to share my spiritual discoveries through my artwork, sowing seeds of fruitful love and growth.

I was born in 1960 at Hsin-chu city. When I studied in high school, artist maestro Mr. Ru Song, Xiao praised me as “a genius ever seen in forty years ” I was admitted in the entrance examination of National Taiwan Academy of Art. But at that time, Taiwan society still deemed a painters’ career as unpromising, so I chose to turn down the opportunity and enlisted myself in military service After I left army, I started my career in advertising industry. Then I was promoted from designer, art director, producer to creative director throughout my career. In 2010, when I was 50, I picked up my paintbrush again and became a self-taught artist Since 2013, my oil paintings were selected for the Art Mirai International Art Exhibition at National Art Center in Tokyo, the annual exhibition of Royal West of England Academy, and the Salon d'Automne in Paris My ceramic works were selected for the Zijin Art Ceramic Award in China and I became a formal member of the Societe du Salon d'Automne I also received recognition by National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts In addition, my “Wu Shan Yun Yu”installation works were showcased at the Florence Biennale 2017 and awarded fth place for videos and won the Lorenzo Ⅱ Magnico Art Prize. My creative dance project was selected for Songshan Cultural and Creative Park New Points on Stage In 2018, my works were selected for the Société des Artistes Indépendants and Société des Artistes Français and exhibited at Le Grand Palais in Paris. In 2019, I won 1st, 3rd, 4th place awards of American Art Awards, the third prize in the installation art of the Florence Biennale, and International Prize BOTTICELLI, Solo exhibition at the Louvre Carrousel Art Shopping and so on I use time as the core, with "New, Beautiful, Appreciative" as a concept, make good use of dierent medias and tools, and constantly challenge myself By participating in large-scale competition at domestic and foreign, breaking the framework of art creation and restrictions and creating the "NBA" art

Drawing, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Assemblage, Button Art, Crafts, Enamel Art, Glass Art, Jewelry

I have been an artist all of my life…it’s all ever wanted to be. As a young child, I amused myself with drawing and constructing things I have fond memories of my father’s cluttered workshop where treasure could be found in old coee tins and glass jars. As a grade schooler I was called upon to illustrate bulletin boards and class projects, and sometimes to make things which my teachers spirited away for themselves

My parents encouraged my talents and sent me to the small local art museum for children’s classes where I was able to experiment with dierent media When I grew older, I took a bus on Saturdays to travel to a larger museum school, and when we moved to another state, I became involved with junior college art programs while still in high school

I attended college with an academic scholarship, but I majored in art To support myself, I began making and selling jewelry which altered my artistic direction from decorative to functional I learned multiple metal working techniques from various venues and instructors, including casting with Toza Radakovich, and I was fortunate to be able to sell nearly everything I made.

A chance encounter with a vibrantly colored enamel tile altered my direction once again, and I decided to create art with hot glass enamel fused to metal after meeting my rst mentor, Inna Babich, who worked primarily on copper forms. Inna introduced me to my second mentor, Lilli Evelyn Hill, who taught me the art of cloisonné enameling, which appealed to my jewelry making skills I worked (played) with both Inna and Lilli for many very enjoyable years.

A move to my current location in the early 90s brought many changes to my creative career, but not as many as the challenge of raising a child with severe Autism Zak has always been, and still is, our number one priority, so my art production is completely secondary to meeting his daily needs. Regardless of this challenge, I managed to make, sell and teach my art/craft in various venues from fairs to galleries to guilds, and although I no longer participate in those past venues, I continue to seek new opportunities online such as Biafarin and Etsy.

Everything interests me! Making art from odd recyclables infused and embellished with enamels, metals, glass, ber, clay, and whatever is a current experiment I’m enjoying From sculptural “frames” for exotic jewelry pieces so they can be enjoyed o the body as well as on it....to fanciful mirrors for self admiration....and all sorts of adornments in between, I keep myself entertained

Roger Williamson Painting

Roger Williamson is a visual artist residing and creating in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Born in Loughborough, England, in 1947 and growing up in Coventry, he was inspired from an early age by the French Symbolist painters of late nineteenth-century France. These artistic inuences, along with his own esoteric upbringing and practical experiences of magic, mythology, and dream control form the matrix upon which his paintings are an extension.

Williamson's works belong to a "theater" of life; building upon classical myths and ancient themes they invite viewers into spheres of consciousness characterized by ethereal portraits and kaleidoscopic color palettes His practice seeks to re-enliven mystery while revitalizing the senses through questioning reality

Aspiring to reintroduce mystery back into human existence through creativity while encouraging artistic audiences towards "living eulgent lives invigorated from secretions of our subconscious"

Donna Twyford Painting

Growing up as the granddaughter of a self-taught artist, I was surrounded by creativity. My maternal grandparents lived just a few houses down from us and I spent the afternoons with them while my parents worked. Every afternoon for me was lled with time at the piano, needlework, cooking and baking, and very occasionally mixing paint for my grandmother and her painting friend I was never “taught” to paint by my grandmother – she was far too impatient. Now, as a grandmother myself, I certainly understand her.

I have a fashion merchandising degree from Ouachita Baptist University and have always had an “eye” for good design and pleasing elements though I have not been formally trained After school, I raised a family, did some part-time bookwork for my dad’s businesses and then owned my own business for almost a decade Just before my 50th birthday in 2013, I made a bucket list of things I wanted to accomplish – knit a pair of socks (done – never to do again), make a successful soué (iy results on this one), and learn to paint in watercolor My grandmother, Bonnie, mostly painted in oil and pastels, but I sat on the steps of her converted den space and stared at three of her lovely watercolor paintings almost every day Those were the ones that charmed me most and inspired me to give watercolor a try.

Finally having an empty nest and the time, I asked the local high school art teacher for a watercolor lesson and was hooked from the rst moment For the last eight years I have painted almost daily I joined Mid-Southern Watercolorists in 2016 in order to take advantage of the incredible artist workshops they oer. I ve been able to sit side by side and study under those I believe to be some of the world’s foremost watercolorists

Often asked if watercolor is the most dicult medium, my response is that I nd it wonderfully versatile and one I feel I’ve barely begun to discover. Being able to surrender to what is happening on the paper, to be the guide and not the manipulator is the biggest challenge for my obsessive, compulsive self! I love detail -you know that if you ’ ve ever had a conversation with me – and struggle with removing unnecessary elements. Realism is a serious turno for many artists and critics, but for me it’s more about examining every crucial part; of seeing small things most glance over and ignore. Maybe those things are relevant, maybe not, but they are by nature of their existence part of the story I’m still exploring techniques and trying to gure out just who I am as a watercolor artist but my goal through my art is to tell a story, to invite you in, to pique your curiosity, to allow the viewer to be part of the conversation

In July of 2021, I became a partner at Art Group Gallery in Little Rock It’s through that alliance that I have nally begun to see myself as an emerging artist and to have more condence in my abilities. Competitive by nature, I continue entering juried shows Rejection is not easy and admittedly, it sets me back when I feel I have submitted a good work, however, the pressure to present my best is what keeps me focused and determined to create quality works over quantity I try to approach all of my paintings, even commissions, as though they are potential entries for competition subject to a juror’s scrutiny

I’m currently working on a large body of works entitled, “Things Remembered” for upcoming solo shows at South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado, Arkansas in the fall of 2024 and The Dixie in Huntingdon, Tennessee in the winter of 2025 The paintings will include places we ’ ve visited, people we ’ ve encountered and lovely “things” I ve photographed

I started my serious art journey late in life. Before that I focused on raising a family, never seeming to have enough the time for my art I still recall the very day ve years ago that I woke up and said I will begin putting all my energy into improving my watercolor techniques. My goal was to be accepted as an accomplished artist by the

National Watercolor Society. I worked for ve years with that in mind. In that time I came up with work I felt proud of My dream became a reality when I was accepted into the 103rd NWS International Open Exhibition on my 76th birthday! Not only that, I earned my NWS signature status

My worked is very detailed and precise I am particularly drawn to painting glass along with things that are rusty I work on small areas at a time within the larger areas of the painting Each area is like working on small abstract painting I nd working on the painting upside down is very helpful

My work is done in my studio I usually take hundreds of photos for one still life painting My painting are somewhat large, 18x24 in. Since my painting are very detailed, it can take over a month to complete a painting.

I never wonder why I paint. It has always been who I am. I can do this everyday and everyday is a learning experience What I have learned in life is that I can accomplish things that I thought were impossible for me Any goal can be met. Just take small steps everyday toward that goal.

David Giordan Painting

I’ve been painting for about two decades. But I rst realized I had a passion for drawing before I started school.

I remember my parents buying me a box of 64 Crayola crayons and pads of pristine manila paper all for me. I loved to make big looping scribble doodles and would ll in the shapes with all the colors from the crayon box My parents entered one of my drawings in a contest, and I ended up winning a microscope and a set of encyclopedias I couldn’t believe people would give me stu just for my doodles! I was hooked

I enjoy graphic design, painting and illustration I did this professionally from 1995 to 2019 working for the MSU Alumni Association and University Advancement at Michigan State University

I have exhibited my work in Michigan galleries and at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids I’ve also won awards in the National Watercolor Society Exhibitions as well as a best of show at the Michigan Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition

I’ve been watercolor painting for many years now, and it has become my favorite artistic medium, although historically it was considered by some as a lesser way of working. I love watercolor s vibrancy, its translucent quality and the immediacy that it has It allows me to express myself clearly and quickly

I have always admired Andrew Wyeth and his ability to render a place in a way that captures its story and puts the viewer into that place. Like Wyeth, my style is very representational and somewhat objective. The subjectivity comes from what I choose to render I don’t always show the entirety of what I paint I enjoy showing a detail of the image and allow that to become an abstraction.

I began drawing and painting at around four years old in Battle Creek, Michigan. Even at a young age, I could look at an object or a person and very accurately draw it By the sixth grade, I knew I wanted to make my living as an artist. My passion and drive from that point forward have only increased.

After graduating from the Kendall College of Art and Design, I worked for more than 30 years as a commercial illustrator/designer, and have won several awards in that time

Eight years ago, I started focusing more on the ne art world I have dedicated my focus to the mastering of transparent watercolor Considered by many the most dicult painting medium, the challenge of creating the illusion of texture, light, shadow, and shape with just paint, water, and a brush on paper makes me a happy person I would describe my work as realism without sacricing the crisp brilliance that is only possible with watercolor By applying multiple layers of color on top of each other, my paintings produce a deep yet luminous color that entices the viewer to want to look long and intensely into my paintings My favorite words to hear are, “This cannot be watercolor!”.

I am a Signature Member of the Michigan Watercolor Society (MWCS) and the National Watercolor Society (NWS) With only eight years into my pursuit of mastering watercolor, I am excited to see what I can create working full-time in the world of ne art.

Painting

Growing up, I was blessed to be surrounded by art. My parents both loved sculpture and paintings and we spent many hours at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia I attended Vanderbilt University where I received a BA in art history and I have found that having a knowledge of painting history has served me well in developing my personal painting style

Over the years I have taken many workshops and classes, representing a variety of approaches, but have come to my style mainly through hard work I nd myself returning to the gure as my base, but my approach is the same whether I am painting humans, animals, pots or abstracts I love to draw and as my style continues to evolve, drawing is taking a more prominent place in my paintings I love the expressive nature of mark making My style is intuitive and expressive I use whatever mediums and materials that best present my message in what I hope is a meaningful way I believe art is best when it is emotional and challenges the viewer to complete the story Sometimes the story is simply to entice the viewer to say “Wow” “Benign and Gracious Solitude” was created on 300# watercolor paper using pencil, ArtGraf and acrylic paint A simply drawn gure is one of my favorite beginnings to a painting I try to use edgy compositions to support my story and after placing the gure I begin the journey toward completion, using acrylics, mark-making and occasionally collage This gure suggests a quiet contemplation She isn’t looking for others to be in her space in this moment.

I was born as Andromeda Louise Dougherty in Hollywood, California, to my mother and father who were heavily involved in Scientology At 3 weeks old my mother had to give me over to what Scientology referred to as the Cadet Org. I lived there o and on until I was 4, (only seeing my mother on weekends). When I was 9 we moved to Nederland Colorado, where I developed my love for the mountains At 13 I was taken away from my family again and became a ward of the state. For the next 4 years I bounced around foster homes and mental institutions Art became my escape from my world

Despite my tumultuous adolescence I managed to get my GED and went to college I initially wanted to major in art but I struggled with not feeling that I could truly be myself under the constraints of art classes I decided to go towards pre-med After a brief heroin addiction, I changed course again and got my bachelor's in Anthropology

At 23 I had my daughter; she became my life's best creation For the next 16 years, I focused the entirety of my being, my creative force and my love, into raising her. She was the love of my life. At 16, after a friend committed suicide, and her father threatened to, she took her own life I found her in her bedroom when I went to wake her up from school. There is no way to possibly convey with the words, my devastation. I began painting in order to process my pain and to tell the story of my healing and spiritual transformation

Amanda Lucek

Digital Arts, Painting, Graphics, Photography, Sculpture

A. Lucek combines traditional handicraft processes, cutting-edge digital tools, and innovative materials to create unexpected beauty through experimentation-and-renement

Although the eclectic, Illinois-based artist (b 1983) has a BA in visual arts from Brown University (as well as one in mathematics), subsequent brain damage and memory loss mean that they are a self-taught artist. Only rst starting to make art into a career in 2018, they rapidly climbed from selling fractal art at sci- conventions to receiving commissions from a national bank and a design agency in 2021

More commissions, awards, and inclusion in gallery exhibits followed Lucek once said "It is my belief that, to some degree, all art asks to interact with you Many times, people do not hear the request, however I try to make art that asks a little louder than most " It seems that people are starting to listen

Bill Polkinhorn

I was born and raised in Calexico, California where I own and manages Bill Polkinhorn, Inc. a customs brokerage company founded by my grandfather in 1917 My rst images, taken during my teenage years were black and white. I have come around now, once again, to black and white work. My immediate surroundings – the desert southwest – are worthy subjects – to which I have returned many times over many years – each time –hopefully - with a higher level of consideration and thoughtful restraint. It is my intention to record and to preserve these places in my own imagination, but moreover the exploration of these harsh and desolate, yet stunningly beautiful landscapes oers a glimpse into possibly coming to some understanding of the human condition

Glass Art, Painting, Graphics, Photography, Sculpture

I was born in the Middle East in the early 90’s- brought into a culture lled with controversy, conict, and war. Being raised in such a stress lled environment has shaped me in ways that I am still discovering today As a scared, anxious and depressed teen, I moved to the United States with my parents and siblings, leaving my extended family behind Being raised under the inuence of one culture while learning another produced a deeply rooted identity crisis- one that I still struggle with today. As I grew I became increasingly frustrated with American culture and the systemic sexism, racism and homophobia that permeated every day life in the United States I found comfort and acceptance in disenfranchised communities while developing an appreciation for people and things that society has deemed as undesirable
