The Lullaby Digital Arts, Digital Painting on Board W:100 H:120 cm 2023 Sofiia Kozeniuk

The world was quiet. She continued to gaze up at the stars, watching as her thoughts drifted in and out. She knew that life would continue to present challenges, but she also knew that love and acceptance were the keys to moving forward. As she sat there in the darkness, she realized that sometimes it was the simple things, like the stars above, that brought the most clarity and peace. Silence enveloped the singing of crickets, nocturnal inhabitants, it fed the clarity of the stars. The first drops of dew shone, sparkling in the moonlight with their silence. Staying with the pain one-on-one, there is a risk of finding out what love is. Sometimes it's the simple things, like the stars above your head, that shows the most clarity in the most complex things. You notice love when everything else stops.

Siren Painting, Watercolor on Paper - Cotton W:22.86 H:30.48 cm 2022 Ann Rank

This water siren pierces your soul with her watery green eyes. The colors chosen are used help to create color harmony. The color theory of complimentary colors, for example, using greens, pinks and oranges this is a complimentary color scheme. This was chosen specifically due to the harmonized yet intense emotions that those particular colors invoke. The pinks involke passion, the orange of her hair a vitality and the green of her eyes new beginnings and mystery.

Daylight Painting, Acrylic on Canvas W:60.96 H:121.92 cm 2023 Betty Lin

When we talk about dream worlds and fairytales, people usually think of stories created for kids. However, dream worlds and fantasy stories are an important source of inspiration for my painting as well as my spiritual world even though I am now an adult. It is my observation that people living today are too busy and never slow down. For myself, I find it essential to relax and be by myself in order to preserve a corner of my life that is solely for me and quiet introspection. The imaginary world is a place where all the exquisite things can last forever, like a dragon cave full of treasures. I’m inspired by digital illustrations that depict stories in anime scenes, so I created a series of acrylic paintings that express my own fantasy world. The vibrant colors I have used in my paintings help me to reflect the vivid scenes. In my paintings, I want to invite the audience into my paintings so that they can find temporary escape from their busy everyday lives and relax in the spaces I h...
