Providing hope
by bhfound
The longevity and success is not only credited to researchers and clinicians but to thousands of patients whose participation helps to improve the health of our region now and into the future.
The Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre, made possible by a $2.5 million donation from the Costa family to the Barwon Health Foundation, means industry leaders will be able to conduct further investigations that can help fight or cure some of our most urgent health issues.

Research suggests clinical trial participants experience better clinical outcomes as a result of the expert monitoring and treatment they receive.
Adrian Costa

Located in Little Ryrie Street, the Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre exists to house and support existing clinical trials activity across the organisation and enable further expansion. Trials that are currently seeking volunteer participation include:
• A study that investigates how well a new combination therapy, taken once weekly, controls blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
• A clinical trial to prevent urinary tract infections in women.
• A world-first study that compares different types of diets to help with weight loss & improve overall health for shift workers.
• A trial of an investigational medication which may reduce the risk of cardiovascular events, like heart attack and stroke, in people at high risk.
• If you would like more information on any of these trials, please visit www.barwonhealthfoundation.org.au where we have linked all relevant information.
