Barwon Health Foundation is calling on Geelong’s generous building industry to be a part of the single biggest fundraising activity in its proud 21-year history, with all proceeds helping to support the health of our local community.

With land donated by Lara Lakes Estate and help from Hamlan Homes and their suppliers, we are going to build and auction a residential house in Lara with the sole purpose of raising funds for our health service. This exciting campaign will culminate in a family fun day at the auction in the second half of the year.

How It Started

One industry leader that believed in the vision from the very beginning was Lara Lakes Estate.

Immediately upon learning of the Foundation’s desire to host a charity house auction, the project was kick-started by the donation of a block of land from Lara Lakes Estate. Modelled on the national-award winning Grand Lakes Estate, Lara Lakes is located at the top of the Lara West Growth Area, bordering the existing township. The House4Health property is located on O'Halloran’s Rd, neighbouring soon-to-be-built display homes to ensure maximum exposure for the project and marketing opportunities for its supporters. This initial generous contribution got the Barwon Health Foundation one giant step closer to achieving its ultimate dream.

Our Goal

So, what is the dream?

The Barwon Health Foundation’s goal is to get the project’s costs – through discounts and donations of goods and services, as well as major philanthropist support - as close to neutral as possible. The House4Health Building Partner, Hamlan Homes will lead the construction of the spacious four-bedroom, two-living Johanna 257 design - which was selected in consultation with Real Estate Partner, Ray White Lara, to ensure maximum appeal for buyers in the area. With the generous support of local businesses and individuals donating or discounting time, materials and skills, we hope we can tell the future homebuyer on auction day that 100% of the sale price will be donated to the cause.

Last year saw the launch of Project North – our $2.5 million appeal to support healthier futures for residents in the northern suburbs of Geelong.

We were heartened by the support of every single individual, business owner and community group that connected with this cause from the beginning.

We are proud and grateful to witness the collective culture of giving back and the passion Geelong residents have for looking after their own.

In 2023, we hope to harness and grow that momentum to achieve lifeenhancing results.

Our ambitious goal is that by the end of the year we have met the fundraising target and delivered a new, expanded home for the public dental service currently operating from Corio Community Health.

The impacts of this will be significant and wide-reaching.
