Position of National Youth Forum, Bulgaria Concerning Warsaw Declaration for Sustainability of Action on Voluntary Activities and Active Citizenship. Based on its Position on Volunteering, adopted on 19.11.2011 by its General Assembly, the National Youth Forum of Bulgaria (NYF) believes that volunteering and active citizenship are key elements of the future development of Europe, providing benefits in education, active participation, economy, solidarity, cooperation, community building, sustainable development and culture. Therefore the National Youth Forum of Bulgaria supports the Warsaw Declaration for Sustainability of Action on Voluntary Activities and Active Citizenship. From Bulgarian perspective we believe that the following should be also considered in the declaration: • Investment in Volunteering is an investment in society’s social cohesion; • Provision of a range of funding opportunities for volunteer-‐involving organizations on European, National and local level; • Establishment of strong connection between web-‐based platforms promoting volunteering and sharing good practices around Europe, administrated by volunteers and voluntary organizations; • Establishment of connection with volunteering organizations and Programmes outside Europe, like United Nations Volunteers and the US Peace Corp in order to achieve volunteering opportunities all over the the World.
