GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

Each year, one exceptional Club member is selected to be our Youth of the Year, serving as an ambassador for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest youth as well as a voice for all our young people Over the decades, these individuals have exemplified the Boys & Girls Club mission and are proof to the impact Clubs make in transforming and saving kids’ lives.

Our Marlborough Clubhouse's young men ' s program, Man Cave, ran a food drive for people in need in our community They donated the food to the United Way Community Cupboard.

Part of Man Cave member's responsibility is to come up with a community project they can work on throughout the year. They figured it is a need to so many and wanted to do their part

Man Cave, formerly the Passport to Manhood program, encourages boys ages 8 to 14 to develop and mature into young men. The program represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior.

Man Cave members meet on Thursdays at 4pm in the Marlborough Clubhouse.

Our 2022 Youth of the Year, Victoria Mier, received a $1,000 scholarship from our Clubs for her exemplary work and for being the ideal Club member and role model. She is an alumni of the Hudson Clubhouse

Victoria is currently attending Curry College and is expected to graduate in 2026. She is still connected to the Club and works the front desk when she is home during college breaks.

Working with youth today means a brighter future for everyone. When you volunteer at one of our Clubs, you can make a difference in the lives of our youth and give back to your community Within the first few minutes of walking into a Club, you know you ’ re in a special place. Filled with the sounds and energy of spirited children and friendly, caring professionals, the Club is a fun and hopeful environment Whether you help with homework, play a gym game, or assist with an art project, you’ll have the opportunity to build healthy relationships with young people eager for adult guidance, and have a positive impact on their lives. In turn, you will find that spending time with these young people has a positive impact on you as well.

Parents Section

Community partnerships are a tremendous asset to our Clubs. This past month the Marlborough Clubhouse members met with Jim Piecewicz, from Workers Credit Union on January 10th. Jim spoke to teens about money management. They had conversations about how to save money, how to create a budget, credit scores and more!

NEWPOLICY

The Marlborough Clubhouse implemented the Teen Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy. The teens are responsible for their own devices and are to understand, respect and follow the rules while in the club associated with social media and phone use. Teen members were sent a contract explaining the rules for both members and parents to sign.

HAPPY HOURS EVENTS

Bahama Day was such a great success! Our Happy Hours Preschool celebrated with "pretend" boogie boarding, yummy fruit smoothies, fun water activities, lei making, learning all about tropical fruits and animals and so much more!

Look out for more information on Gingerbread House Week coming up the week of January 23rd. Kids will be making an oversized gingerbread house!

Also in March, Happy Hours will hold their annual I Love Tea Day.
