"Thank you for a fun summer! The kids had a blast at your camp program. It was a peace of mind knowing they were in good hands and they had so many entertaining stories to share."
Scarlett C., Parent SUN'S SOUT, UN'S OUT, FUN'S FOUT! UN'S OUT!
One of the donors who made camp possible this summer was Cary Corkin. Cary had been serving as our Board Chair since 2021 and was incredibly passionate about the Club, its mission, and the youth. On August 8, 2022, Cary suddenly passed away after a perfect morning at home with his wife and dog. The loss of Cary is a profound loss not only for our organization but also for the entire community. Cary’s kindness and charisma were something that will be forever missed. Cary’s obituary can be found here: https://www.telegram.com/obituaries/pneo0275790. Please join us in keeping Cary’s wife, Nancy, and his entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
A Letter from the CEO It is another season of transition here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest! We are wrapping up our summer camp and preparing for the back to school season. This summer more than 325 youth walked through our doors, every day, across our three Clubhouses. Each member participated in high quality educational programs to minimize summer learning loss, opportunities to redevelop the social emotional skills that had been lost during the pandemic, and the chance to experience the world outside of the Club! After two years of on site fun only, field trips returned and our youth experienced local beaches and state parks, museums, and much more Because of you our donors along with a number of corporate and foundation partners, the Clubs were able to provide more than $175,000 in financial assistance to local families.

Our Summer Program had 12 CIT's between all three Clubs! CIT's, short for Counselors In Training, applied to our summer program and got accepted by the Director. This program is specifically designed for teens that are looking to gain skills that will benefit them for future job opportunities. They learned about leadership, conflict resolution, child development, and group dynamics. They also got taught the important aspects of team building, work ethic, policies and procedures, safety, and leadership all while gaining a positive experience through increasing responsibility over the summer. DID YOU KNOW?

Due to the pandemic, our summer program did not consist of field trips for the past two years. This year they were put back on the schedule. It is safe to say that ALL members were thrilled to be able to travel to beaches, museums, trampoline places and so much more!
25 Alumni working at our Summer Program! The work is not done when you age out of our programs! Once members are done they become alumni. Our alumni share a passion for supporting the next generation of Club kids and we are so fortunate to have had 25 returning alumni working for us this summer throughout all of our Clubs!
