What does it mean to be all in as an account lead?
As a senior account lead, “all in” means removing barriers and challenges for the entire agency team so that they can produce the best work for our clients. Being “all in” for our clients means being a true partner: active listening, problem solving, and ensuring that our work is spot on creatively and strategically. To be “all in” doesn’t mean that I always say yes: a senior account person is not a yes person but a partner that advises both our clients and the agency team.
Beyond your professional life, what passions/ activities/people shape all that you are?
Certainly my family: my husband, my teenage daughter, my father (who is in his 80s), my mother-in-law, and my sister and her family. In short, my family shapes me, keeps me balanced, sometimes challenges me (teenage daughter, anyone??), but always fills me with joy. In the last 6 months, I have committed to a spiritual training group on Tuesday evenings which I am passionate about and also shapes me. Last, my yoga practice twice a week and my indoor rowing studio where I row twice a week are areas of passion for me and keep me balanced.
I wake up every morning optimistic and excited to start the day. I try to bring a level of energy and passion to everything I do and every engagement I have. From that first sip of coffee to that last email sent before I end my day, I really do give it my all.
Beyond your professional life, what passions/activities/ people shape all that you are?
The easy answer would be my wife and son (which I must acknowledge in case she ever sees this). Outside of them, I enjoy watching Ohio State football, Tottenham Hotspurs, and the New York Football Giants. I love to play golf and share a beer with some friends. But my true passion comes from building, fixing, wiring, painting...really anything construction related. I can spend most of my off time in the garage finding something to work on. It’s relaxing and helps take my mind off things while I recharge, mentally.
What does it mean to be all in as an account lead?
Brand Strategy is a fascinating career: each day I explore the inquiries and insights from science, medicine, analytics, business, and creativity to develop actionable client opportunities. The trains of thought usually get started with my morning run or swim and asking myself, “What if we could…?”. By the first espresso I am ready to craft a new idea or refine an existing one.
Music, performance art, and volunteering have significant roles in my life. As I slowly master the ukulele, I find encouragement from so many different types of music, knowing it helps us be more attuned to our well-being, relationships, and communities. Concerned with supporting literacy and wellness, I volunteer with several United Way and Special Olympics programs. Although I have no Mediterranean heritage, I lived and worked in Italy (my first job abroad was teaching English to a professional soccer team), so my daughter and I speak Italian together as much as possible.

Being a Medical lead on the marketing/business side of pharma I think means understanding the delicate balance between when a more rigid, logical, dataheavy approach is called for vs when a more creative, strategic, emotional approach is required. It means understanding the power that can come from creative storytelling that is rooted in a deep scientific insight but has also been imbued and colored by smart creative thinking. Such a medical lead understands not only that they are not mutually exclusive but can also bring to life the synergy between the two.
Beyond your professional life, what passions/activities/people shape all that you are?
Physicality: for 15 years this took the form of vinyasa yoga and running; these days it is more so weight training
Aesthetics: I love a good arts exhibit, botanical gardens, and architecture
Shopping: I’m a great gift giver but unfortunately most of the gifts I find are for me Travel and food also hold a special place in my heart

What does it mean to be all in as a creative lead?
For me, being a creative lead means no compromises. We work together to produce the best creative without exception. Why? Because what we do together will help patients navigate the complex world of healthcare. Creative is the megaphone we have to shout out to the world to make a difference that matters.
Outside of work I am a husband and father. I have two children, Sophia, 14 years old, and Joseph, 12 years old. My wife and I are passionate about our family. Before we had our own two children, we decided to share what it means to be a family with a homeless 5-year-old that was my wife’s kindergarten student at the time. Over the years, his mother was unable to care for him and we took him in and became his foster parents. We helped get him into a private high school and graduate Rutgers University. Today he’s 23 and works in operations at an international shipping and logistics business. To this day, we see him every holiday and are always in touch.

Engagement strategy is like a fine wine. You need to find the right audience that will enjoy it and the right time for it to aerate and come to life. Knowing that I get the exhilarating challenge of staying abreast to an ever-evolving digital world and using those insights to create unique opportunities for our team to succeed provides me with the perfect blend of perfection.
Beyond your professional life, what passions/ activities/people shape all that you are?
When you don’t find me nerding out on digital trends, you will find me hanging out with my friends or family, working on my cooking blog, or traveling the world. Nothing shapes you more than the people you surround yourself with and the adventures you undertake. Both help create the cultural and holistic perspective that I believe helps you not only understand the world around you but breeds creativity needed to make your mark in this world.
