The choral setting is the Coronation Mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791). If you need to, please sit down at any point in the service, even if the instruction is to stand. It is more important for you to be comfortable and safe. Communion will be offered in both kinds – bread and wine. You are welcome to receive only the bread of communion if you prefer. We will be pleased to help you if you wish to receive a gluten-free wafer. Please speak with one of the stewards at the main door before the start of the service. Please be aware that today’s service is being livestreamed to YouTube and will be available online for two weeks. If you do not want to appear on the livestream please speak to one of the stewards who will direct you to seats not covered by the cameras. Please check that you have switched off your mobile phone. Lavatories, including disabled facilities, are available towards the back of church. The hearing loop has now been replaced. If you use a hearing aid, please turn it to the T position. The Greeting The Lord be with you and also with you. We remain standing.
Prayers of Penitence God so loved the world that he gave his only son Jesus Christ to save us from our sins, to be our advocate in heaven, and to bring us to eternal life. Let us confess our sins in penitence and faith, firmly resolved to keep God’s commandments and to live in love and peace with all. Silence Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we have sinned against you and against our neighbour in thought and word and deed, through negligence, through weakness, through our own deliberate fault. Grace to you and peace from God our Father. 3
In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel 6that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. 7 This you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow-servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8and he has made known to us your love in the Spirit. 4

The Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. We kneel or sit.

Giving and Receiving Peace Christ is our peace. He has reconciled us to God in one body by the cross. We meet in his name and share his peace. The peace of the Lord be always with you and also with you. We offer one another a sign of peace, and offer our gifts to God. 8

Great Thanksgiving Prayer
It is indeed right, it is our duty and our joy, at all times and in all places to give you thanks and praise, holy Father, heavenly King, almighty and eternal God, through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. For he is your living Word; through him you have created all things from the beginning, and formed us in your own image. Through him you have freed us from the slavery of sin, giving him to be born of a woman and to die upon the cross; you raised him from the dead and exalted him to your right hand on high. Accept our praises, heavenly Father, through your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ, and as we follow his example and obey his command, grant that by the power of your Holy Spirit these gifts of bread and wine may be to us his body and his blood; who, in the same night that he was betrayed, took bread and gave you thanks; he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me. Today is the Choir’s last Sunday as it breaks for the summer and over the coming weeks we will welcome various visiting choirs to our services. Next week on Sunday the music in our services will be led by the Choir of St Martin’s Brighouse. MONDAY FELLOWSHIP meets this week at 2.00pm in the de Lacy Centre. The gettogether is an opportunity to catch up with others, share tea/coffee and cake, pray together and sing some of our favourite hymns. This month the talk entitled ‘Reflections on my six years at Bradford Cathedral’ will be given by Canon Paul Maybury. Do come along if you can – new members are always welcome. Hear from the Reverend Anne Russell, CoChair of the Sudan Link Working Group, recently returned from visiting Khartoum, Port Sudan and Wad Medani and from the Reverend Ludia Shokai, the first Sudanese woman to be ordained in the Church of England, now starting as curate in Bradford in the Anglican Diocese of Leeds. As the war continues we pray for peace and an end to this terrible destruction of human life. So many people around the world depend on the wheat and olive oil grown in Ukraine, so we pray for a ceasefire to allow safe passage of ships and export of food from Odessa. 11 July this year is the 27th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. The Serbian army overran a UN designated safe haven. Boys and men were taken prisoner and more than 9000 were killed. The Photographic Exhibition by our Photographer in Residence, Kate Abbey, entitled ‘As we journey together: an exploration of Faith in Bradford’ is still on display in the nave. It’s a new type of exhibition for us so please do have a look – there are some amazing photographs and details are also on the screen at the West End. On Thursday 14 July the Cathedrals Cycle Relay is back, and we have a team heading out to York Minster.
