Letter from the Designers While we of course have certain persuasions when it comes to design, we believe that each project and each client is unique and that the role of the Interior Designer is to help clients realize their dream home based on what you reveal to us. To figure that out we like to spend time with our clients talking and figuring out who they are, what their passions are and what they want from their house. You don’t have to tell us exactly what you want, just show us what you like and we can figure out the rest.

Once we’ve gotten to the root of who you are, stylistically speaking, we will help guide you to choices that we think will reflect that style and enhance the kind of life you want to live. Your home is your springboard for the day and your landing pad at night. It should work to fit your needs.

The pieces of the puzzle we like to consider are how the space flows from room to room and within each room, melding together existing pieces with new, giving new life to old furniture, focal points, do we need to create intimate spaces within a larger space, layering colors and patterns and textures.

Whether those patterns are modern or Asian or colored purple is guided by your preference.

When you walk in the front door of your house, you should feel at peace and comforted, but mostly you should feel at home. You might think, “This house is so fabulous, I can’t believe I live here!” But you should never think, “Do I really live here?”

What Can Bevan & Co Do For You? Now that you’ve figured out your style, been inspired and chosen a designer, what can you expect? At Bevan & Co. after we’ve gotten you to divulge your inner interior design style and before we embark on the business of design, we piece together some options for you. You might tell us you love things about this room, but want blues, reds and yellows:

We turn that into a presentation. We can do an electronic version like this:

(but we prefer showing you the real thing in person, if we can.)

We sketch furniture layouts on site (hypothetically):

Then turn those into rendered floor plans based on the design boards and your preferred layout (we thought you might like this one):

If you ask us, nothing beats feeling and seeing the real thing in person, so we’ll probably send you some packages of samples and take you shopping to see pieces of furniture we’ve pre-selected for you. Depending on your level of comfort and your endurance for shopping, we can keep the selections to a minimum or show you everything under the sun. Then it’s back to business and decisionmaking.

And from all of that, if you just can’t envision the room all put together, we might resort to a 3-D rendering. (This one we borrowed from another project of ours).

But that’s only if you’re very patient and promise to frame it when we’re through.

And then it’s paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. And waiting. But we won’t bore you with that just yet, because now is the fun part when you get to dream about what your future home might be.
