Brat Fry for a Good Cause
Oconomowoc, WI
Earlier this fall, BetterLife Members – Oconomowoc, WI, hosted a Brat Fry at the Fox Bros. Piggly Wiggly in Oconomowoc. Members cooked and sold food to raise funds for the ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice “Angel Tree of Remembrance.” All proceeds benefit their Community Care Program, which ensures that no one will be denied compassionate, endof-life care due to a lack of financial resources. Thanks to the hard work of Oconomowoc members and a generous Matching Funds contribution from BetterLife, a total of $1,000 was raised! June Lorenz from ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice participated in Oconomowoc’s November meeting and was presented the donation check.

Family Pizza Party
Madison, WI
BetterLife Members – Madison, WI, recently gathered at Rocky Rococo in Madison for their annual Family Pizza Party. After a delicious meal, members enjoyed the movie Encanto, a raffle, and a silent auction. The group donated a generous portion of the event admission to the Miracle League of Dane County, an organization whose mission is to give children with disabilities the chance to play baseball. Thanks to all who joined for good food, a great turnout, and an incredible impact!
Skate Party and Winter Clothing Drive
WI
With colder days on the way, BetterLife Members –Wausau, WI, made it their mission to collect winter clothing for those in need. On November 9, they hosted an 80s Skate Party and Winter Clothing Drive at Skate City in Wisconsin Rapids. All attendees at this free event were encouraged to bring a winter clothing item to donate. All collected items were then distributed to area shelters. Families and children of all ages participated in this fun night out. While this was the first year of the event, the group is hoping to make it annual.
A Fun-Filled Celebration
WI
On November 3, BetterLife Members – Mosinee, WI, hosted a Christmas Celebration, including a potluck and meeting, at the Mosinee Town Hall. The event was full of activities, including cookie decorating, crafts, bingo with prizes, and a game in which guests guessed the number of candies in jars to win the goodies inside!
The guest of honor, Miss Czech Slovak Wisconsin State Queen Megan Mouche, talked to members about the pageant and her unique talents. A signed Green Bay Packers’ football was generously donated to the group to raffle off for Mosinee High School scholarships.

This time of year, its nice to have something warm and comforting on hand to offer friends and loved ones, especially during holiday gatherings. This cranberry quick bread has the warm flavors of cinnamon and orange with the tartness of fresh cranberries. Not only does it look pretty, it will be a hit as a snack or with any meal on the table.

1 c whole-wheat flour
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp baking powder

Directions: Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly coat a 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Whisk together all dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, canola oil, milk, orange zest, juice, and vanilla. Add the flour mixture to the oil mixture; fold until just combined, about 30 seconds (do not over mix).
