01 / THE MEDINA KAYAKING PROJECT
NEWPORT, ISLE OF WIGHT
This project takes place within the heart of the Isle of Wight, in a town called Newport. My goal was to design a scheme that would attract a younger population back to the island, which had become increasingly dominated by the elderly. This shift toward an elderly community had been increasing pressure on the younger population so as to support them financially and socially.
As well as this, I wanted to help create a societal shift towards a more active lifestyle, due to the sedentary nature of modern-day life, which could be easily accessed by schools around the island.
