Rest in Peace Please remember our deceased friends and alumni in your prayers. (Word received between 1-15-11 and 5-15-11) Lois Meillier, PP, died Sept. 11, 2010 in Faribault, MN at the age of 82. During her life, Lois worked at various businesses including Western Union Telegraph and Pleasant Manor Nursing home. She was a member of Council of Catholic Women and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. Lois is survived by her husband, David Meillier, BA ’42 and by her children, Mike Meillier, BA ’68, Patrick Meillier, BA ’68, Teresa Meillier, BA ’73, Ann Meillier, BA ’79 and Mary Meillier, BA ’80. Lucy (Van Zuilen) Pansier, BA ’43, passed away Nov. 5, 2010 in Faribault. Lucy and her late husband, Willis, farmed near Faribault. She was 87 years old and is survived by her three children.
Mary Ann (Riegert) Duff, BA ’64 passed away Nov. 9, 2010 in St. Paul. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, James Duff, and by her two children. She was a retired clerical worker.
Marguerite “Peggy” (Studer) Sperl, BA ‘61 passed away Jan. 21, 2011 at the age of 67. A former employee of Control Data, Peggy retired after years of service as a senior programmer/analyst for Minnegasco in Minneapolis. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael Sperl of Richfield and by her siblings including John Studer, BA ’56, Jane (Studer) Lund, BA ‘64, David Studer, BA ’69 and Dan Studer, BA ‘70. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite and Dr. Donald Studer, and by a sister, Donna (Studer) Sandler, BA ‘59. The family asks that memorials honoring Peggy be directed to Bethlehem Academy. Jack Campbell, PGP, passed away Jan. 23, 2011 at the age of 80. He is survived by three children including David Campbell, PP, and by grandchildren, Katie Campbell, BA ’98 and Tim Campbell, BA ’02.
Thomas Novotny, BA ’65 died Jan. 24, 2011 at the age of 64. Tom owned the Webb Gas Station and Midwest Tree Service in Faribault. He is survived by his wife, Judy, by three children and one grandchild. He is also survived by four siblings including Mary Van Ryn, BA ‘57, Robert Novotny, BA ‘58, Jim Novotny, BA ‘62 and Kathy Walsh, BA ’67. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Novotny, BA ’55.
Marjorie Yerhot, PP died Jan. 28, 2011 at the age of 82. A homemaker and mother of six, she and her late husband farmed near Kilkenny. Marjorie is survived by her children: Mary Condon, BA ’66, Michael Yerhot, BA ’67, Joan Patee, BA ’71, Don Yerhot, BA ’72, Timothy Yerhot, BA ’72, and Jane Hanegraaf, BA ’85.
Mary Jane Barrett, age 90 of St. Paul, MN died Feb. 1, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Barrett, who was a former teacher and coach at Bethlehem Academy. Mrs. Barrett is also survived by her seven children. Gary Langevin, formerly of Faribault, died Feb. 4, 2011 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Marlene and four children. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (Langevin) Purdie, BA ’56.
Leona Ackman, PP, passed away Feb.3, 2011 in Faribault at the age of 85. A member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Council of Catholic Women, Leona is survived by her five sons including Louis, Richard, Don, Jim Ackman, BA ’63 and Chuck Ackman. Emmett Keiffer, age 77 of Wylie, Texas died Feb. 3, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Helling) Keiffer, BA ’51, and his three children.
David “Shorty” Paquette, BA ’58, died suddenly Feb. 4, 2011 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 71. David is survived by his three children and also by his siblings including Marlene Pohl, BA ’55, Richard Paquette, BA ’56, Mary Jane Paquette, BA ’60, Arthur Paquette, BA ’65, Carol Paavola, BA ’67, and Kathy Hunt, BA ’71.
Irene O’Brien, PP, passed away Feb. 6, 2011 at the age of 91 in Hastings, MN. Irene worked as a Registetered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner at St. Lucas Hospital and District one Hospital, and also at Faribault State Schools. O’Brien is survived by her children Patricia Chenier, BA ’61 and Edward O’Brien, BA ’65. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, daughter Susanne Beatty, BA ’62 and son Robert. The family prefers Memorial Gifts honoring Irene O’Brien be directed to Bethlehem Academy.
Ralph Malloy, BA ’52, passed away Feb. 14, 2011 at Hastings, MN. He was 76. A champion cribbage player, Malloy was the owner of Malloy and Sons Painting. He is survived by his seven children and also by his sister, Agnes Holmes, BA ’51.
Lorraine (Kern) Caron, PP, passed away Feb. 19, 2011, at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband, Cliff Caron of Faribault, and by her children including LaJune Troolin, BA ’66, Bernard Caron, BA ’68, James Caron, BA ’69 and Steven Caron. James Lockner, age 71 of Faribault died Feb. 19, 2010. He is survived by his brother, Mike Lockner, BA ’67, and by his sistersin-law Mary Kay Lockner, BA ’60 and Joanne Lockner.
Merle Correll, GP, passed away Feb. 19, 2010 in Moorhead at the age of 81. He is survived by his five children including David Correll, P, and by several grandchildren including Maddie Correll, BA ’11 and Samuel Correll, BA ’14.
Fred Coller, GP, passed away Feb. 20, 2011 at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn, and his four daughters including Caryn Coller, F and P. He is also survived by several grandchildren including AnnMarie Backstrom, BA ’14.
James Braun, BA ’68, passed away Feb 25, 2011 at the age of 60. Jim was a longtime employee of Met-Con Construction in Faribault. He is survived by his mother, Candice Braun and his siblings including Janice Mallberg, BA ’66, Annette Stech, BA ’69, Teresa Jackson, BA ’70, Bob Braun, BA ’74, Paul Braun, BA ’77, Peter Braun, BA ‘77 and Laurel Braun, BA ’82.
Elaine (Brown) Lambert, BA ’49, passed away March 1, 2011 at the age of 79. Elaine is survived by her two children, and by her siblings including Leo Brown, BA ’56, Brian Denis Brown, BA ’58 and Kathleen (Brown) Dodds, BA 60. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Theresa Nuetzman, BA ’54.

Rose Winkels, PP, died March 1, 2011 in Northfield, MN at the age of 89. Rose is survived by her husband, Al Winkels and her four children including Father Michael Winkels, BA ’67, Marie Kampbell, BA ’69, Steve Winkels, BA ’71, and Julie Rother.
Gloria Hausen, age 67 of Olathe, Kansas, passed away March 2, 2011. Gloria is survived by her loving husband, David Hausen, BA ’59, and by her four children and twelve grandchildren.
