gallery research On the Twenty Second of March this year my college class went in lesson time to visit the Nottingham Contemporary museum which is not far away from my college. When we went the museum were showing their ‘The word for world is forest’ exhibition, created by the artist Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, in order to raise awareness for the depleting Mata Atlântica which is a tropical rainforest in Brazil which has been battling its own destruction since the 16th century.

This gallery visit could inspire elements of my work because I enjoyed the combination of colours with black and white images layered on top therefore I might consider using this in my music video. Below are pictures from our visit to the varying exhibitions and a descriptive poster explaining each room in detail.

These pictures are from a separate film exhibition which reflect on the social and technological changes that are taking place in modern workplaces.

This imagine is from the ‘Living Thoughts’ exhibition which represents the plant life forms that co-exist amongst each other in the rainforests of Brazil. The glass cases that some of the plants are suspended in were hand made by a glass-maker based in London to recreate the way that smaller, weaker plants in the rainforest attach themselves to larger ones and grow as air plants in order to survive by getting their much needed nutrients from the atmosphere around them.
