Minutes
February 8, 2025
The monthly chapter meeting of the Beta Xi Sigma chapter was held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. 1st Anti-Basileus Newton was in the seat in Basileus Townsend's absence and meeting minutes were recorded byAnti-Grammateus Brown .
The following Sorors were present:
Soror Pamela Newton, Soror Faith Leach, Soror Brianca Horner, Soror Brianna Edwards, Soror Dominique Laboo, Soror Victoria Brown, Soror
Stephanie Smith-Fowles, Soror Shareen Annan, Soror Minerva Jackson, Soror Fran Swailes, SororAmeesha Burns , SororAngela Freeman, Soror Shannan Clarke
Meeting was called to order at 10:04 a.m.
The Sorority Pledge was completed by all Sorors on mute. Chaplain LaBoo led the chapter in a prayer to begin the meeting.
Madame Parliamentarian Jackson was absent from the meeting, however 1st Anti-Basileus Newton encouraged Sorors to contact Soror Jackson about any Robert Rules of order and any other parliamentary questions.
Madame Sergeant-at-arms Soror Leach reminded the chapter to utilize the raise hand feature to be acknowledged and stay muted throughout the meeting.
MadameAnti-Grammateus Brown reported the chapter correspondence and there was:
● VSU credit union bank statement
● Soror Edwards’holiday card was returned to the post office
● Positive promotions magazine
● U-line office supplies magazine
Madame Grammateus Freeman reported from the credentials report that there were 37 financial Sorors as of February 8 , 2025.
Madame Sergeant-At-Arms reported that there were a total of 11 Sorors on the call, and 1st Anti-Basileus Newton reported that in order to proceed, there needed to be at least 12 Sorors. She encouraged Sorors to post in the GroupMe that the chapter meeting was happening, and for Sorors to login.
A two minute recess was taken, and the meeting will resume at 10:13 a.m. The meeting resumed at 10:13 a.m. with 12 Sorors in attendance.
The meeting agenda was approved as presented and there weren’t any corrections made.
Previous meeting minutes for the month of January were adopted and approved with no corrections.
Updates and correspondence reports
● Soror Horner reported that Alpha Zeta will be hosting an event on February 11th at 7:22 p.m. in Foster Hall in room 320, which is a change due to an event at Virginia State.
● Alpha Zeta is in good financial standing as of January 30, 2025.
● Soror Horner reported that she is attempting to coordinate a training forAlpha Zeta and how to appropriately run their meetings, write meeting minutes, etc.
Unfinished Business
● There wasn’t any unfinished business to review from the previous meeting
New Business
● Soror Anaan reported that the Philos were leading the heart health initiative and she was awaiting a flyer to be created for social media post.

Good of the sisterhood
● Soror Horner reported that Alpha Zeta has been invited to Richard Bland college on February 25, 2025 to present information on Sigma Gamma Rho sorority. They will be strolling as well as receiving a $500 gift. All events are in the 2ndAnti-Basileus report.
● Soror Leach gave a shout out to all the Sorors who were born in February.
● Soror Newton gave a shout out to all four Rhoers who will be graduating in May.
● Soror Jackson asked if William and Mary needed to be contacted beforeAlpha Zeta could participate in the event on February 25th.
● Rhoer MaKayla was presented as employee of the month at her job.
● Soror Swailes asked if she could get an assistant to support the Rhoers due to her busy schedule.
The February chapter meeting will be held virtually on February 8, 2025.
Meeting was adjourned at 10:31 a.m. by 1stAnti-Basileus Newton.
