BETA Camp 2023

STEM Beyond the Classroom

Our newest program to be introduced this year is Delta Club, a high school engineering club that aims to increase access to quality STEM education and expand our impact throughout the academic year. Hence, increasing STEM outreach efforts for students across the Bahamas. Students will charter chapters at their local schools similar to Interact and Key clubs. Students will also assume positions of leadership within their respective clubs and have a school representative as the club advisor. Delta Club will have the following directives:

• Engage students in STEM-based project activities that will vary month-to-month

• Provide access for local engineering professionals to speak at individual club meetings and regional meetings

• Host STEM competitions to foster and develop 21st century learning skills

• Create an outlet for students to problem-solve, tinker, and invent

• Increase students’ interest and understanding of math and science through real-world applications in engineering and technology

• Provide opportunities for mentorship through BETA members and local engineering/tech community partners

Delta Club is expected to launch in the fall of 2023 (October). There are no limits to chapter sizes and we intend to use a phased implementation to launch chapters across the Bahamas.
