In addition to athletics, Luke is actively involved in schoolrelated volunteer work, which he values nearly as much as his academics. He has a strong interest in both Business and Psychology, having taken advanced coursework in each. He’s considering both fields as potential career paths.

This past summer, Luke took the initiative to enroll in a college-level Communications course to further broaden his academic experience.

As he heads into his senior year at Penncrest, Luke is excited for what lies ahead. He’s especially looking forward to continuing his academic journey in college and hopes to play lacrosse at the collegiate level.

This issue continues our monthly mission of Bringing People Together, which may be most noticed by the question you may have already asked: Do I know this family on the cover of this September issue? Perhaps. And who knows? In the coming months, our Resident Feature cover story may be about you or the local resident or family you nominate.

Bandarama’s 55TH ANNIVERSARY

M

arple Newtown High School’s annual Bandarama is an exciting high school marching band competition where talent, music and precision take center stage!

On Saturday, October 4, join the Tiger Marching Band for an unforgettable evening when a dozen local schools showcase their incredible field shows, complete with powerful performances, intricate formations and spirited energy.

This year marks the Marple Newtown High School Marching Band’s 55th Bandarama. A tradition since 1970, the school’s marching band began in 1942 and rose to competitive prominence by the 1960s. Under the leadership of energetic director Larry McGriff, by 1969, the band achieved notable success, including back-to-back wins at the Virginia Beach Band Festival. Mr. McGriff built on an already strong program, pushing it to new heights. However, greater success brought increased costs—more students, instruments, uniforms and travel expenses. In response, Mr. McGriff, along with Treasurer John R. Longacre, parent leaders Robert Rust and Warren Given, and other dedicated parents, devised a fundraising plan: to host an annual home field band competition.

Bandarama’s tradition has continued since 1970, first for many years under Larry McGriff’s direction and then his successors, Bearj Jehanian, Mike Massimo, and now Jake Olimpi.

Thousands of student musicians have enjoyed the experience and have been fully supported by thousands of school officials, parents, patrons, and music fans.

A successful Bandarama would not be possible without the parents who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure its success. Angela Dobbins is a Marple Newtown Tiger Band alumnus and now a parent. For the past several years, she and her husband Steve have been part of the Marple Parent Band Association. “Bandarama has always been really special. Back when I was a student, my parents were heavily involved,” she recalled. “It’s been meaningful to carry on the tradition. Not only is it a proud moment to see how hard the students have worked, but it’s also fun getting to know the other parents and to work together on a common goal.”

Bandarama would also not be possible without the help of many local businesses that donate food and other items.

“It’s a great trade for both of us,” she explained. “We are able to provide delicious food to other school staff in our hospitality tent and sell items to spectators. In return, our local businesses receive lots of advertising, which includes our Bandarama ad book.” Angela also said that over the years, Marple has been known for its fantastic hospitality.

“We’ve always had a reputation for being great hosts, and we offer the food to the other bands’ staff free of charge,” she added. “That is certainly due to the generosity of our local businesses.”

This event, named “Bandarama” by Mr. Longacre, debuted on October 3, 1970. It invited top area high school bands to compete, while raising money through ticket and concession sales, and cutting travel costs. The first Bandarama was a success, featuring several local schools, with Archbishop Wood High School emerging as the winner. As is tradition, the host of the competition does not compete. “That adds to the fun of Bandarama,” explained Marple Newtown Marching Band Director Dr. Jake Olimpi. “We get to perform on our home field without the pressure of the competition.”

Since it debuted 55 years ago, Bandarama has evolved alongside the changing landscape of both popular and marching band culture. The event has transformed from a showcase of regimented marching and precise geometric formations into a dynamic spectacle of athleticism and creativity. Today’s performances feature fluid, constantly moving sets that tell a story through choreography, dance and visual props, adding theatricality to the musical experience.

The musical repertoire has also expanded dramatically, moving beyond traditional marches and ballads to embrace a wide array of instrumentation — including keyboards, synths,

vibraphones, bass guitars and even vocals— and musical selections that cross time periods, cultures and genres, from Stravinsky to Soundgarden. Dr. Olimpi understands the significant changes firsthand as he was a member of the Tiger band back when he was a student in 2007. “It’s definitely a fully different activity now,” he explained. “We now have custom uniforms, and the electronics make up so much of the show. We draw a lot of inspiration from drum corps groups.”

Through all these changes, one thing has remained constant: the passion, dedication and pride of the student performers, which continue to honor and build upon the legacy begun more than half a century ago.

The Tiger Marching Band is excited to perform this year’s field show, “Hunting Wabbits.” They’ll also compete in six competitions this fall through USBands. Each band is judged based on a comprehensive system that evaluates various aspects of a band's performance, including music performance, visual performance and overall effect.

ewtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors is proud to introduce you to The Donohue Family: Kevin, Jaclyn, James, Lincoln and Juliette. This very active family of five knows the true meaning of family and makes the most out of every meaningful moment.

Jaclyn spent most of her childhood in Broomall, where she lived with her parents and four older siblings. “I have a bit of a Brady Bunch story,” she explained. “Both of my parents were married previously and each had two children before I came along.”

Jaclyn added that she feels very fortunate that they are all incredibly close and literally close by, all living in Delaware County.

Jaclyn attended St. Pius X Grade School and Cardinal O’Hara High School, where she was a member of the cheer squad and the student council. When she wasn’t busy with school activities, Jaclyn was dancing. “I grew up dancing at Touch of Class Dance Studio, where I was involved in competitive dance,” she said. “That meant lots of long hours in the studio and lots of traveling to regional and national competitions.”

After high school, Jaclyn went to the Art Institute of Philadelphia to earn her degree in Fashion Marketing. That led her to the QVC group, a television channel based in West Chester, where she still works today. “I was fortunate to start my career at QVC as an intern in 2010 in merchandising buying,” she said.

“Since then, I have taken many different opportunities within the company: buying merchandise for all different categories like jewelry, accessories, handbags and footwear.”

Her career has afforded her many amazing opportunities. She became a Knowledge Share Mentor, where she spent four months in Beijing, China and managed QVC’s Global Brands Portfolio, partnering with their international markets. Jaclyn was involved in some special initiatives/start-up projects based in New York, and most recently, she oversees the Live Strategy for Social Platforms for QVC and the Home Shopping Network (HSN).

“Livestream shopping is still so new in the US and hasn’t even scratched the surface. I love being at the forefront of building something amazing and setting new records and doing it with a legacy retailer such as QVC that has always been the leader in video commerce,” Jaclyn explained. Her role involves analyzing the results to ensure they are making data-driven decisions, monitoring talent and creators, and also keeping a tight pulse on the product and life cycles of products.

Kevin is originally from Drexel Hill, where he lived with his parents and three brothers. He attended St. Dorothy’s for grade school and graduated from Devon Preparatory School, where he played soccer, basketball, baseball, and ran track. Kevin continued his education at the University of South Carolina, earning his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Naval Science, and then attended the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy.

“I spent two years working in the Delaware County Sheriff's Department and briefly with the Darby Borough Police Department before being hired at Upper Darby Township Police Department, where I have been a Patrolman for almost 14 years,” Kevin said. “I enjoy protecting and serving the residents of Upper Darby and keeping them safe.” Kevin did add that every day comes with its own challenges, and that you never know what you are walking into. “I’ve faced many high-risk situations, which have really given me a different perspective on life and how to live it to the fullest!”

to learn more about the real estate industry and something he can do outside of his full-time job. “I enjoy being a part of the home-buying process and assisting in one of the biggest decisions my clients will make.”

Speaking of big decisions, we’re pretty certain that Kevin would agree that attending his fellow police officer’s wedding back in 2014 was not only a significant one, but also one of his best. “That’s where I met Jaclyn, who just so happened to be the groom’s sister,” Kevin laughed. They hit it off right away and had their first official date at the Oakmont Pub in Havertown.

The happy couple dated for a few years before buying their first home in Broomall. “I would jokingly say, who needs a ring when you can lock him in with a 30-year mortgage?”

Jaclyn said. “Luckily, I ended up getting the ring just a short time after.” Kevin had planned a surprise proposal at Stone & Key Wine Cellar while they were making a batch of wine with some friends. After he popped the question and she said yes, Kevin surprised Jaclyn by organizing a celebration with family and friends at the Oakmont Pub, where it all began.

The wedding planning got underway, and the date was set for May 25, 2018. Jaclyn and Kevin exchanged vows at St. Dorothy’s Church, followed by a fun-filled reception with 325 guests at the Waterworks in Philadelphia. “We had a big wedding that involved a lot of planning! Kevin and I knew after that, we wanted to spend our honeymoon relaxing, so an

all-inclusive resort in Barbados was the perfect way to spend our first two weeks as husband and wife.”

Life moved quickly from there, when one year later, they welcomed their first son, James, who is now an active and imaginative 5-year-old. James is excited to begin kindergarten this month, along with playing fall ball at Newtown Edgmont Little League and flag football for Rose Tree. “James loves baseball and has recently gotten into playing golf, tennis and pickleball,” Kevin said. Jaclyn added that although James is an old soul and wise beyond his years, he’ll tell you that when he grows up, he will be playing Major League Baseball and driving a Lamborghini. continued on page 10

special is that the house was accommodating enough for Jaclyn’s mom to move in with them. The neighborhood is filled with families and neighbors who are kind, fun and generous.

They especially love the annual bonfire, trick-or-treating, the neighborhood holiday dinner and the Easter egg hunt.

The memories that Kevin, Jaclyn and the kids are making are incredibly special, and not long after they moved in, they had the opportunity to make an unexpected, but significant connection with the previous owners of the property.

Next up is three-year-old Lincoln, who aspires to be a police officer and a daddy someday. Although Lincoln is too young for organized sports, he enjoys participating in the Healthy Kids Running Series and can often be found flipping and jumping on anything and everything. “Lincoln may be our textbook middle child, but no matter what, you can always expect him to tell you how much he loves you in the sweetest voice,” Jaclyn said warmly.

Last, but certainly not least, is one-year-old Juliette. She’s recently hit her stride, and Jaclyn said she thinks she will take after her mommy and be a dancer. “Juliette loves to dance, clap and smile,” she said. “She is the happiest baby and the perfect balance to our two wild boys!” Kevin is indeed smitten with his little girl, with the most beautiful blue eyes and a smile that is contagious.

Family time is spent staying active in the neighborhood, at the ballpark to root for the Phillies and long beach days at the Jersey Shore. They are active parishioners at St. Dorothy’s Church and also members at White Manor Country Club, where Kevin enjoys golfing, and the rest of the family enjoys all the fun events, as well as the pool. Jaclyn continues to fuel her love of dance, becoming a certified barre instructor and Kevin stays active by competing in triathlons and local running events.

Somewhere between working full-time jobs, growing their family and staying active, Kevin and Jaclyn made the move from Broomall to Edgmont. “We moved to Okehocking Hills in July of 2021,” Jaclyn recalled. “We first stumbled upon this neighborhood back in 2019, and fell in love with it.” At that time, Kevin and Jaclyn weren’t in the market to move, but two years later, when the housing market was healthy, they decided to put their house up for sale after completing some renovations. “We planned to move in with Kevin’s parents until we found something, but to our surprise, a house popped onto the market, and when we saw that it was in the neighborhood we loved, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity.”

A few weeks later, the Donohues became Edgmont’s newest residents. They describe their home and their neighborhood as exactly what they always wished for. Making it even more 10

“We have a pond in our backyard with seven koi fish. The house had a pond when we purchased it, which was something entirely new for us, so we had to learn how to take care of and maintain it,” Jaclyn explained. “After the first year, the pond developed a large hole in it. Not wanting to get rid of the fish, we decided to have someone redo the entire pond.” This is where the story takes a turn. Kevin said that while attending his eighth-grade school reunion, an old classmate told him that she knew the original owners of the house, the Lancaster Family.

His classmate made the connection, spoke to Jaclyn and offered to initiate an introduction. “I told her I had found something that belonged to the Lancasters in the backyard near the pond: three garden stones that were buried underneath the mulch. Each stone had a painted fish with one saying: “Dad’s Greatest Catch,” and the other two had their children’s names on them, Ashley and Eddie,” she said. “I wanted to return them to Mr. Lancaster (Ed), whom we had learned had lost both his wife and his son Eddie.”

Soon enough, Kevin and Jaclyn were connected, and they hosted Ed and his daughter, Ashley, over the Christmas holiday, where they reminisced about the house. “Ed told us that the pond was a gift from his son Eddie, which made us happy that we decided to have the pond restored,” Kevin said. “We returned the garden stones to him, and he was beyond grateful.” Ed went home and immediately found a special spot to display the stones and sent Kevin and Jaclyn a picture. “The pond is beautiful and peaceful and now even more special that we know its story,” Jaclyn said.

all is full of fun festivals! Just because vacations are over and the kids are back to school doesn’t mean the celebrations have to end. Fall is the perfect time to gather as a community, enjoy the crisp air and share in each other’s hospitality.

This month, we are proud to spotlight A Taste of Greece Food Festival, taking place from September 25th through 28th at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. This annual event transforms the church grounds into a lively celebration of Hellenic culture. From homemade Greek food and pastries to live music and dancing, the celebration, held under the big tent and inside the church hall, has something for everyone.

The parishioners of St. George’s invite you to bring your family and friends to experience four days of Greek culture and hospitality. Be sure to come hungry because there will be plenty of food to eat. Guests can try authentic dishes like pastitsio, a decadent pasta layered with seasoned ground beef and béchamel sauce, roasted lamb shank and hand-carved gyros.

After your meal, enjoy a Greek coffee or a glass of ouzo paired with delicious loukoumades (fried Greek honey puffs). You can also browse and sample the assortment of handmade pastries such as baklava (layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry and filled with chopped nuts) dripping with honey and kourabiedes (traditional Greek almond butter biscuits, packed with the aromas of roasted almonds, fresh butter and rosewater), coated in powdered sugar.

The fun doesn’t end with dessert, though. Greek dancing to live music will entertain you every evening. Folk dancers wearing traditional costumes will perform cultural dances like the syrtaki and kalamatianos. Live music will fill the air, and attendees are encouraged to link arms and join in the dancing. There will be plenty to keep the kids entertained as well. Free crafts, face painting and games will be featured in the designated children’s area.

A Taste of Greece is St. George’s most cherished event of the year, and it allows the parishioners to bring our community together. Visitors can chat with church members as they share stories and traditions passed down for generations. Attending the festival allows our friends and neighbors to experience the vibrant sights, sounds and flavors of Greece right in our hometown.

Overview of the New Tax Law

n July 4, President Trump signed into law the 800-page “One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).” It makes permanent certain expiring provisions of prior tax law, eliminates certain existing tax breaks and creates new ones.

Following is a list of a few of the changes. As my mother used to say, “The devil is in the details!”

• Makes permanent 100% bonus depreciation for the cost of qualified assets, for property acquired after January 19, 2025

INDIVIDUALS • Makes permanent the TCJA’s individual tax rates of 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%

• Increases the Sec. 179 expensing limit to $2.5 million and the expensing phaseout threshold to $4 million for 2025, with annual inflation adjustments going forward. Increases the cap on the business interest deduction beginning in 2025 by excluding depreciation, amortization and depletion from the calculation of adjusted taxable income. Makes permanent the excess business loss limit

• Nearly doubles the standard deduction • For 2025-2028, creates an additional deduction of up to $6,000 for taxpayers age 65 or older, with incomebased phaseouts • For 2025-2028, creates a new deduction of up to $25,000 for tip income in certain industries, with income-based phaseouts • For 2025-2028, creates a new deduction of up to $12,500 for single filers or $25,000 for joint filers for qualified overtime pay, with income-based phaseouts • For 2025-2028, creates a new deduction of up to $10,000 for qualified passenger vehicle loan interest on the purchase of certain American-made vehicles, with income-based phaseouts

• Creates a 100% deduction for the cost of “qualified production property” for qualified property placed in service after July 4, 2025, and before 2031

• Permanently allows the immediate deduction of domestic research and experimentation expenses (retroactive to 2022 for eligible small businesses) not used to claim the research credit • Eliminates clean energy tax incentives, generally after 2025, including the alternative fuel vehicle refueling property credit and the Sec. 179D deduction for energy-efficient commercial buildings (both after June 30, 2026) - but the qualified commercial clean vehicle credit ends Sept. 30, 2025 E

• Increases the limit on the deduction for state and local taxes (the SALT cap) to $40,000 beginning in 2025, with an income based reduction and a 1% increase each year through 2029, after which the $10,000 limit will return • Creates a permanent charitable contribution deduction for nonitemizers of up to $1,000 for single filers and $2,000 for joint filers, beginning in 2026 • Permanently increases the child tax credit to $2,200, beginning in 2025, with annual inflation adjustments going forward • Expands the allowable expenses that can be paid with a tax-free Section 529 plan distributions, beginning with distributions made after July 4, 2025

BUSINESSES • Makes permanent and expands the 20% Sec. 199A qualified business income (QBI) deduction for owners of pass-through entities and sole proprietorships

ust like riding a bike is an expression most of us are familiar with. For many people, getting on a bike even after many years is second nature and should be easy to do.

But for some, biking can be overwhelming or intimidating and may not be physically possible. Electric bikes (or e-bikes) open up cycling to a broader range of people, including those with physical limitations or beginners building confidence on two wheels. The Murder of Lew Pinkerton On November 7, 1913, Samuel Lewis “Lew” Pinkerton, age 26, overseer of Brick House Farm and tax collector for Edgmont Township, disappeared. That morning, he had shot two rabbits for dinner, visited Media for medicine for the cattle, dropped off the rabbits at his Mendenhall boarding house, paid farm hands their wages from a wad of bills he pulled out of his pocket, and delivered the livestock medicine to William Thorpe on a nearby farm. He then chatted with neighbors about his recent election as tax collector before proceeding toward home at dusk, and was never seen alive again.

With no sign of him, neighbors launched a manhunt across nearby woods for weeks. His father later remarked, “The boy did not have a bad habit… I think he has been waylaid and murdered for his money.”

wife and the prospect of Pinkerton’s money—Pinkerton was carrying a wad of bills—proposed killing him. In a box stall in the barn, Pennington struck the victim with a blackjack; as they struggled, Pinkerton called to March for help, and March, rather than helping, then joined in the attack, kicking him viciously until he stopped moving. Later that night, they buried his body in a shallow grave on the Wilcox Farm in Chester Heights.

Both men were tried separately for first-degree murder. March's trial began in March 1914. A legal surprise emerged when March’s first, still-married wife testified to their marriage, eliminating spousal immunity for his common-law wife, who then delivered her damning testimony.

March was convicted on April 3, 1914, and Pennington several months later. Following appeals, they were both executed in the new electric chair at Rockview State Prison on February 21, 1916, a grim first for Pennsylvania, as it was reported that Pennington was the first man of Quaker blood to suffer the death penalty for murder.

Meanwhile, guilt stirred at Brick House Farm. Two recent hires—George March, 31 and Roland Pennington, 19, lived on the property. On November 7th, March’s common-law wife and her 16-year-old daughter Mildred saw the two farm hands enter the barn at about 5 p.m., followed by screams.

March briefly returned home for a lantern, claimed the noises were from “a passerby,” and subsequently both men returned, washing at the water pump, and sat for dinner. The women noticed blood spots on their clothes. After dinner, the men claimed they were running errands in Gradyville, left the farm in a horse-drawn cart, and didn’t return until after midnight.

Later, March confided some details of the murder to his wife, who informed her father—and then the authorities. When confronted, Pennington offered a confession, explaining that March, motivated by jealousy of Pinkerton’s attention to his 16

Deer-Resistant Native Plants

ur home landscapes truly add a significant amount to the value of our properties, and when it’s time to refresh those plantings, environmental benefits should be considered.

At this time of the year, the fall planting season provides an ideal opportunity to renew or add to the more permanent elements of the plantings around our homes. These days, more and more folks are considering the benefits of incorporating native shrubs and trees when possible.

For those of us who’ve decided to go native, a major obstacle can be the overabundance of deer in our suburban neighborhoods. There are a variety of different solutions for native plant protection, and these include repellents as well as physical barriers that include netting, fencing and tree guards. Tree guards can be particularly effective, since the primary damage to new trees is often “Buck Rub,” which can be prevented by this type of barrier.

Another approach for dealing with deer is to choose deerresistant plants. These have a variety of characteristics that make them unpalatable, and therefore, they are very seldom bothered.

By their nature, many native plants are preferred by deer, but certain ones can usually be depended on to be resistant. Since this article is focusing on woody plants, the shrub category features some excellent choices for consideration.

For locations that need year-round evergreen foliage, the possibilities include American Holly, Florida Anise, Fetterbush/ DogHobble, Mexican Mock Orange and Carolina Jessamine.

Shrubs without foliage during winter, but featuring showy flowers and/or berries include Carolina Allspice, Bayberry, Bottlebrush Buckeye, Potentilla, Fragrant Sumac, Elderberry, Spicebush and St. John’s Wort.

Many of these shrubs may not be the easiest to find at a chain store, but local, independent nurseries and garden centers will be the best source to shop for them. In addition, the knowledgeable staff at these local stores will provide the answers for you to be successful. E

BROOMALL NEWTOWN BASEBALL: The Road to the Babe Ruth World Series Ted Raftovich is BN’s head coach, who is not only proud of his players but in awe of our community. “I have coached many of these boys since they were six years old,” Ted explained. “They not only worked hard on the field to get this far, but they also worked equally as hard to raise the money we needed to make the trip to Jamestown.”

The support from the community was overwhelming, with many of our local businesses, friends and neighbors stepping up to contribute gift cards, raffle items and sponsorship dollars.

Broomall Newtown 13U team after their victory in the Regionals

our Newtown Edgmont Friends & Neighbors would like to congratulate the players, coaches, families and friends of the Broomall Newtown Babe Ruth 13U team on their trip to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, NY.

Their journey began with exciting and dominating performances during the Pennsylvania State Championship tournament in July. Played on their home field, Broomall Newtown (BN) dominated with an impressive 15-0 win over Ridley in the title game. This victory marked BN’s 14th state title as a program, and seventh at the 13U level.

The team then headed to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Old Bridge, NJ. The Regionals were marked with a 13-0 win over Atlantic Shore, NJ, a 24-1 win over Mifflin County, PA and a 4-1 win over Sayre Woods, South NJ. Our BN team then set their sights on their final opponent in the Regionals: Greater Voorhees Athletic Association. In the first game, BN’s Cole Patterson ripped a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to lift BN to an 11-10 win.

The excitement continued in their second game that saw our BN team fall behind in both the second and then third innings before RBIs from Ryan Raftovich and Danny Quinn followed by a double by Cole Patterson tied the score at 3-3. James Hogan scored the go-ahead run in the fifth inning, then turned around to pitch four shutout innings to end the game with a 4-3 win and punch a ticket to Jamestown.

Word back home spread quickly and the team was met with a Marple and Newtown Township fire and police escort down West Chester Pike when they returned home that Friday night.

The victory that sent BN to the Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown last month was the program’s seventh trip to the big stage. The 13U and 15U teams both brought home titles in 2014.

Prepare Your Roof for Winter Now

oon the leaves will be changing, and that beautiful tapestry of color will be gone before we know it, but beware.

Many of those colorful leaves that change and fall will end up on our homes’ roofs and in the gutters. Next, the snow will fall and create an even more beautiful scene, but again, beware of nature's wrath under all that beauty.

Here are some things you can look into in order to prepare your home and roof for the winter deep freeze: • Take a look at your roof or have it professionally inspected for missing shingles, flashings, vents/stack penetrations, siding transitions and chimney wash deterioration.

• Make sure that your gutters and downspouts are clean and free of all debris/leaves.

• Check to make sure there’s no roof damage from pests – birds, insects or squirrels and other rodents.

• Make sure the gutters are properly pitched to the downspouts to ensure that they carry the water away from the house.

• Check your interior ceilings for any damage due to leaks.

Water stains on the ceiling are a good indication of roof leaks.

• Eliminate any tree branches that hang over your roof to avoid wind and snow damage from them.

• Have your siding/stucco inspected for missing pieces, flashings, rotted trim work or cracking.

• Make a plan ahead of time to remove snow from your roof.

Snow and ice build up on your roof could cause ice dams which can damage your roof and lead to costly repairs.

• Have your roof replaced if it shows major signs of damage, staining, buckling or other obvious signs.

The winters in our area can be long and brutally cold, so protecting your roof is the first line of defense in protecting your most valued asset, your home. The roofing season in the past many years has extended well into December but as always the weather is unpredictable. Don’t wait until it's too late, make sure your home is “Roof Proof” before winter arrives. E

The group also promotes unified sports events with students from the Life Skills classes, performs service projects for veterans goups and elderly facilities, works with the Caring for Friends Organization, which makes meals for food-insecure groups in and around the Chester area and takes part in the Hoops for Hope, faculty vs. student basketball game, that raises money for the Eagles Autism Foundation.
