he busy winter season is coming to its end, and the beautiful spring is moving in. Winter weather, stress and the pandemic can really put a strain on not only your mind, health and body, but also on your hair. Winter air can cause your hair to become dry and dull. The new year is the perfect time to renew, revive and refresh, and brighten your hair, mood and look! Here are a few hair care resolutions professional stylists recommend for 2021: Resolution #1 — Protect Your Hair: Make sure to always use a trustworthy heating tool and a heat protectant product. Professional stylists recommend Hot Tools Irons and Joico Ironclad Thermal Protectant.

Resolution #2 — Stay Consistent with a Trim Every 6 Weeks: A consistent schedule for trimming your hair will keep it healthy, happy and well maintained. Waiting too long to have your hair trimmed will cause breakage and split ends. Resolution #3 — Deep Conditioning Treatment: Every 2 weeks, treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment either at home or at the salon. A conditioning treatment goes handin-hand with protecting your hair and promoting the longevity and consistency of hair color. Resolution #4 — Book Appointments in Advance: Now more than ever, every small business needs the community’s support. Show your Stylist some love and schedule a few future appointments. As the pandemic continues, the best salons are able to ease your worries and give you the pampering you deserve by following all CDC and State Board of Cosmetology restrictions and guidelines. Some of those health and safety procedures include clients waiting in their car instead of in the salon’s waiting area; masks mandatory for all salon staff and clients; taking temperatures and washing hands upon arrival; and social distancing between Stylists’ hair stations. What is trending this upcoming season? One of the biggest trends is lived-in color, the perfect natural look. Those face-framing baby lights with a root shadow and a loose wavy style is the picturesque version of lived-in natural-looking color and style. Bridal Season 2021: Not only does spring bring showers, it also brings Bridal season. That may be a little different this year, but one thing remains the same: The bride and her attendants need hair styling and makeup! Wedding season is many Stylists’ favorite time of year because it gives them opportunities to be creative and showcase some unique styling and makeup skills. This spring, the wedding and up-do trend is a low soft tousled bun, a chic pulled-back high pony and, of course, accessories! M
