Dear prospective student,
Evaluation of Education
Voucher Education
Congratulations with your admission to the bachelor of Medicine! Groningen has a lot to offer that will make you enjoy your student life. However, your education is the main reason for you to come here. Since this is so important, you need it to be of good quality. In this brochure, the Medical Faculty Association (M.F.V.) Panacea wants to illustrate ways in which you can become actively involved in improving the quality of the G2020 curriculum in which you will participate the coming three years. We would like to encourage you to take part in the evaluation of the education at our faculty. This can be done through various consultative bodies and committees which strive to improve the quality of your education. Do you still have any questions that are unanswered after reading this brochure? Please come by the board’s office.
The Year Representation The Year Representation (YR) is the committee of the M.F.V. Panacea which focuses on evaluating the educational program and organizes educational activities and After Exam Drinks. The YR represents the whole year and is therefore extremely important. The YR is in direct contact with the educational institute (OWI), in order to improve the curriculum. If you want to get in touch with professionals, guard the quality of your education and become a member of an active committee then the YR suits you perfectly! Good to know: you can easily earn your ECs when you are part of the YR.
In G2020 it is possible to join the Voucher Education. G2020 students have the opportunity to develop their own education by means of vouchers. With your voucher, ‘the sky is the limit’ when it comes to your education. You can use your voucher to obtain practical skills which would otherwise only be offered during your internships or as extra support in subjects you find hard or perhaps very interesting.
We wish you the best of luck, The Board of the M.F.V. Panacea

How does it work? The YR consists of 10 individuals divided in 4 subcommittees: SemCee, CommuniCee, ExamCee and PR-Cee. The SemCee and CommuniCee evaluate the basic program and the community-specific program. They have regular meetings with the semesterteams and the LC-teams to discuss problems. The ExamCee critically evaluates the exams and optimizes the elimination of exam questions. The PR-Cee takes care of promotion, the year-sweater, patient gifts and educational activities. The YR has weekly meetings in which they update their fellow YR-members on what their subcommittee is occupied with and of course to have a drink and socialize with each other. The YR also plays an important role in the organization of the ‘Teacher of the Year election’. No YR for you? If you do not have the ambition to join the YR, but you do have an opinion about the educational program, you are always welcome to address your YR. They will use your comments when making the semester report.
Voucher Education is an initiative set up by students. With help of those students, the M.F.V. Panacea and the OWI have created a committee, consisting of ten student members and a representative of the Institute for Medical Education: the Voucher committee. How does Voucher Education work? Students in G2020 will receive one voucher per semester. They can trade these vouchers for contact hours with professors about any educational idea they can think of. The type (for example a practical or a seminar) and duration of the activity can be discussed with the professor you invited to supervise your activity. Participants to any activity are also able to make suggestions on the activity’s content, time and date. Besides students, professors are also offered the opportunity to create voucher activities for students to subscribe to. There is an online platform (voucher.med.rug.nl) where professors and students can collaborate on activities together. This way, they can realize the vouchers together in the best way possible. The platform will be the site to create your own voucher activity or to subscribe to activities that already exist The sky is the limit! If you have any questions or suggestions concerning Voucher Education, feel free to contact the committee via voucher@panacea.nl.
