However, the need for greater production capacity and the Pratts’ desire to retire from this part of the business has brought a multiyear plan to fruition: Citizen Cider is opening its own pressing facility in Burlington’s South End. Although the tasting room will stay put on Pine Street, Citizen Cider’s marketing director, Cheray MacFarland, says the cidery team has big plans for the new building. In addition to the new fruit presses, the facility will bring the company’s warehouse space to Burlington. With the powerful new presses, the company is potentially looking to expand beyond apples. “We’re hoping to process all sorts of local fruit at the new facility,� Cheray
