Editorial “You don’t change the world to travel, you travel to change the world.” Dedrick D. L. Pitter Resolutions. Sau acele schimbări pe care vroiai demult să le faci. Probabil că și tu te-ai uitat înapoi în timp și ai încercat să-ți amintești ce ți s-a mai întâmplat interesant în ultima vreme. Și am convingerea că nu țiau apărut în minte noii blugi cumpărați de la mall, nici aniversarea a n luni de când s-a întâmplat evenimentul x, sau cu atât mai puţin seara de film din fiecare joi. Ţi s-au derulat rapid în capul tău momente. Acele clipe care ţi-au proiectat un zâmbet larg pe buze, momentele în care teai decis să mergi undeva, în care ai luat iniţiativa sau ai ales să schimbi ceva în viaţa ta. Şi-n vara ta! Te îndemn să „consumi” mai mult din acele momente frumoase și să renunți la zona ta de confort, ușor monotonă pe alocuri. Te îndemn să-ți materializezi ideile și planurile. Să acționezi, să înveți, să explorezi. Un simplu clic pe „Apply” te desparte de o vara incredibilă. Acel clic care te ajută să te ridici din mulțime și să faci primul pas spre experiență. Poate că nu vei schimba lumea, precum afirmă Pitter mai sus, poate că nimeni n-o să observe, dar un lucru e cert – și anume impactul asupra ta. De ce? Pentru că ajungi probabil singur, într-o gară undeva în Europa, debusolat și cu 10 bătăi în plus pe minut, dar te descurci. Pentru că-ți va fi teamă, dar ai să reușești. Pentru că înveți să te adaptezi și să tolerezi. Şi pentru că experienţa asta o să-ți arate cât de puternic ești. Faci parte dintr-un amalgam cultural unde fiecare vine cu „his/her own baggage” și spre surprinderea ta totul se îmbină perfect! În acel moment vei realiza că vă leagă noutatea. Noutatea și farmecul locurilor în care ajungi, a oamenilor atât de diferiți pe care îi cunoști, a universității la care studiezi cât și a petrecerilor, evident! Iar acel moment, în care începe să-ți placă noutatea și să o cauți cu orice prilej, acel moment va fi unul dintre cele care se derulează în capul tău când nu poți să adormi.

BEST – Board of European Students of Technology - este o organizaţie apolitică şi non-profit, având ca scop satisfacerea nevoilor studenţilor din Universitatea Tehnică pe partea de informare, educaţie şi cultură. In momentul de faţă, BEST este prezent in 89 de universități din 30 de țări ale Europei. Peste 3000 de studenți fac parte din BEST, organizând evenimente pentru studenți atât pe plan local cât și pe plan internațional. Grupul Local BEST Cluj-Napoca este format din studenți din cadrul Universității Tehnice din Cluj-Napoca, un grup de tineri entuziaști, motivați să învețe ce înseamnă munca în echipă, managementul unui proiect, dezvoltarea unor abilități care ne vor fi folositoare în perioada post-universitară.

Oportunitățile de studiu pentru studenți sunt multiple și variate: de la Arhitectură până la Ingineria şi protecţia mediului în Industrie. Faptul că această universitate e recunoscută pe plan naţional şi internaţional se datorează nu numai faptului că procesul educativ este unul de calitate ci și multitudinii de activități în domeniul cercetării, precum și sutelor de legături cu universități similare din întreaga lume. Cele peste 650 de cadre didactice de elită, o bibliotecă de peste 3 000 de mp dotată corespunzător, posibilitatea de cazare în căminele renovate din Observator definesc Universitatea Tehnică din Cluj-Napoca și asigură cele mai bune condiții de desfășurare a procesului de educație.

k e e W g in in a r T BEST Dragi studenţi, după cum sunteţi deja obişnuiţi, BEST Cluj-Napoca vine în întâmpinarea voastră cu o ofertă pe care nu o puteţi refuza! Este vorba de a 7-a ediţie de traininguri destinate studenţilor, intitulată BEST Training Week (BTW). BEST Training Week este un eveniment care are ca scop dezvoltarea studenţilor atât pe plan academic, cât şi pe plan personal. Anul acesta BTW va avea loc în perioada 29 Martie - 1 Aprilie, în Universitatea Tehnică Cluj-Napoca, pentru a fi cât mai aproape de voi studenţii. În aceste 4 zile ale evenimentului, studenţii vor avea ocazia să dobândească noi aptitudini participând la traininguri susţinute de unii dintre cei mai buni formatori din Cluj-Napoca! Trainingurile vor fi clasificate în două mari categorii: • Soft skills, unde studentul poate să-şi îmbunătaţească capacitaţile de comunicare, de gândire şi de planificare a activităţilor. • Tehnnice, unde studenţii vor avea ocazia să înveţe noi programe, tehnici de management şi marketing sau tehnici de negociere. Astfel, ajuns la a XVIII ediţie, JobShop® 2012 vine în ajutorul studenţilor cu o gamă variată de joburi şi internshipuri de la peste 30 de companii. În plus, pe parcursul evenimentului, studenţii vor avea şansa de a lua parte la traininguri şi workshopuri gratuite organizate pe teme de larg interes.

Tu ce faci vara asta? BEST îți pune la dispoziţie o listă cu 47 de cursuri, competiţii și evenimente de recreere. Tot ce trebuie să faci e să îţi alegi o tema interesantă şi oraşul în care vroiai demult să ajungi şi să le scrii o scrisoare de motivaţie colegilor noştri din oraşul respectiv. Spune-le cât de mult îţi doreşti să participi la cursul lor, să îi vizitezi şi să te distrezi alături de ei! Unul dintre numeroasele avantaje ale cursurilor este că sunt GRATUITE. Cum să îți faci s crisoarea de motivare Pentru orice curs la care te decizi să aplici, trebuie să ştii că este necesară o scrisoare de motivaţie, în funcţie de care Grupurile Locale BEST din toată Europa îşi vor selecta participanţii. Criteriile de selecţie variază de la un grup la altul, dar scrisoarea de motivaţie are cu siguranţă cea mai mare pondere în alegerea participanţilor. Nu există o reţetă perfectă, datorită multitudinii de criterii, dar cu siguranţă organizatorii vor vrea să ştie: • Cine eşti? Care îţi sunt studiile, pasiunile, care sunt cunoştinţele tale în domeniul cursului şi cum îţi place să te distrezi. Prezentarea ta nu trebuie să fie lungă, dar să cuprindă informaţii relevante despre preocupările tale, şi despre cum ai putea contribui tu la formarea unui grup de participanţi diversificat şi receptiv. De asemenea, nu uita că persoanele care selectează participanţii sunt studenţi ca şi tine. Convinge-i că eşti destul de interesant şi amuzant încât să vrea să te cunoască. O mică doză de ciudăţenie și de mister nu strică! • De ce ai ales cursul acesta? Citeşte cu atenţie descrierea cursului şi ai grijă, în cazul în care aplici la mai multe cursuri să nu le încurci. Grupurile BEST vor fi curioase să audă motivarea ta şi de multe ori aceasta cântăreşte cel mai mult în decizia lor. Scrie motive specifice! Aşa vor şti că scrisoarea ta nu e una standard cu care aplici la toate cursurile şi interesul tău e real! • De ce ai ales oraşul/ţara aceasta? Vrei sau nu, cei care vor face selecţia, întotdeauna se vor simţi puţin gâdilaţi în orgoliu dacă le dai şi un motiv legat de ţara lor pentru care vrei să mergi acolo! Nu insista însă prea mult căci există riscul să dai impresia că mergi acolo ca turist şi cursurile cad pe locul doi. Dacă la aceste informaţii adaugi şi puţină originalitate în formulare, cu siguranţă că vei avea o şansă în plus. Oricine apreciază simţul umorului şi creativitatea aşa că nu ezita să le foloseşti ori de câte ori ai ocazia. Acum nu mai rămâne decât să aplici! Fă-ţi curaj, apucă-te de scris şi îţi poţi petrece vara într-un mod inedit. Alege ca vara asta să înveți, să călătorești, să te distrezi și să legi prietenii pe viață!
