Five Reasons Why Future Skills are Vital for Kids Today

It’s not easy to prepare a child for the world that doesn’t yet exist. However, that’s essentially what we need to do today. If we take a step back and look at the bigger picture we realise that the twenty first century skills required to survive in this digital age is not something we train our children in. The education during our times might have been good for an age where technology did not play such a major role in our everyday life but today technology is everywhere, disrupting the status quo.

The modern learner is tech savvy, complex and energetic and he is growing up in a world where technology is shaping his everyday life. The career opportunities for him have not even been invented for him and yet we need to prepare him for the future world. Here are a few reasons technology skillsets are essential for Kids in school today. Supported by Global Researches No matter which career a child chooses, whatever his chosen role it will inevitably require some tech skills. According to a 2017 Brookings report number of jobs requiring high and medium tech capabilities are on the rise than those where people only need low-level tech skills. Also, a European Commission investigation came to the same conclusions. The report suggested that digital skills are an important factor in the performance of the current worker. Problem Solving Skills We have already established that children require tech skills to succeed in their future jobs, however, the advantages of these skills can be seen long before they enter the workforce. Future skills help them improve their problem-solving, communication and critical thinking skills.
