The Dino Bar
School: Tecnische Universität Wien
Theme: 3-scale design
Work: pairs
State: presented in January 2024
The aim of this project was to work with three different scales. Each group had to choose a specific form and design a small, medium, and large object; the large one being a café to be implemented in the University´s courtyard. My partner and I chose a shape inspired by a 70’s chair, as we wanted to create a vintage atmospehre, with the color orange as the predominant one.
We took into account the urban aspect of the project and adapted our cafe to the courtyard in which it had to be placed. We kept the existing geometry of the patio on the left side, and created a new urban space on the right side that could work with what was already there.

Social housing in La Palma
School: ETSAM
Theme: social housing
Work: individual
State: presented in May 2023
The goal of this project was to propose alternative housing to all houses that were destroyed by the volcano eruption of La Palma (Spain) in 2021. We were given a plot of land, and we had to design a housing model for 100 families.
As I wanted to have as much free land as possible, I decided to stack the houses in a set of 8 towers, each equipped with common areas on the ground floor and top floor, as well as one home per floor. The stairs and elevator are in a separate tower, connected to the main one through a bridge on each floor.

Ground floor section - common space
Each house had to include a space of 30m2 for an vegetable garden. Since I chose towers, I decided to create vertical green walls attached to the building’s facade.
The design consisted of two rows of squared individual gardens connected to the main structure through metal beams. Two facades were left free to let light into the houses.
The structure is separated from the tower, and each individual square can rotate 360º, which makes it easy for the tennat to plant or collect vegetables.

Sports Town, Manchester
School: ETSAM
Theme: social housing
Work: groups + individual
State: presented in May 2022
For this project, each student had to choose a community and design a living space for them in a given plot of land located in Manchester. The urban design and division of the land was made in groups, so three different communities had to live together in shared public spaces.
My community were athletes. I designed four buildings organized around football camps. One facade faced the street, and the other the camp. The houses were under the bleachers needed to watch the matches.

Ruina habitable, São Paulo
School: ETSAM
Theme: Working in Lina Bo Bardi’s Glass House
Work: individual
State: presented in December 2022
The excercise consisted in designing a small house next to Lina Bo Bardi’s Glass House, in São Paulo. We had to consider the existing house and plot of land, which is a jungle.
The Glass House allows the tenant to experience the jungle through the glass, creating views of the nature that surrounds the house. I wanted to create a different experience, so I designed an habitable ruin, located in the middle of the jungle, that allows the tenant to connect with the jungle in a more direct way.

Territorial Analysis of Olmeda de las Fuentes, Madrid
School: ETSAM
Theme: Territorial analysis
Work: group
State: presented in May 2023
For this class, we had to analyse the town of Olmeda de las Fuentes and its surroundings, located in the south-east of Madrid. Using the software QGIS, my group and I generated a set of maps and studied the ground quialities, flora and fauna, water supply, and urban properties of the town of Olmeda, among other things.

Walden
School: personal project
Theme: dream house
Work: individual
‘Walden’, is a memoir written in the XIX century by Henry David Thoreau. The text contemplates the author’s embrace of a modest lifestyle amidst nature. It serves as both a personal manifesto advocating independence, a social experiment, a journey of spiritual exploration, satire, and to a certain extent, a guide for self-sufficiency.
The idea of a quite life surrounded by nature interested me, and I wondered what I would want to bring with me if I were to live in the woods. This design includes an interior space with a library and an outside terrace to entertain.
