Here’s to our Community What does it mean to be a community. Community Noun- 1. a group of people living together and practicing common ownership. On the morning of the 11th of November the Berringula Peninsula rallied together to demonstrate just what it means to be a community. Bethangas own Sinead, Lance, Brook and Bree lost their home and all their loved possessions to a sudden and quick spreading fire. Starting in their laundry wall from an unknown electrical fault the flames where quick to get hold of the building. The children of Bethanga Primary where doing their annual remembrance parade when it was spotted. Quick actions by the teachers and parents lead to a fast response by the CFA and established that the home was empty and all were safe. While evacuating the children, Bethanga Primary's loved principle , Rachel was instantaneous in organising a meeting at the Bethanga hotel, hosted by Kate, in effort to coordinate the community in their voluntary efforts. The turnout, ideas and direct actions from our locals would have made anyone's heart swell. Donations of clothes, books and food quickly came pouring in and go -fund -me page administered by Meagan, smashed its suggested goals in mere hours.

Bethanga Primary School Art Show opening night MTFAB raffled one of their awesome fire pits. Mark from Grouse Grass offered his services, Renne set up the food train and Jenny looked into emergency care.
