DESIGN ETHOS
Continual Growth & Empowerment: I continually seek out opportunities for learning and growth. Stepping out of my comfort zone and challenging myself to push further. Learning is a continual process and when its enjoyable, its more likely to be remembered. I enjoy creating designs that have a purpose. Providing a sense of empowerment through learning.
Storytelling: I enjoy being able to tell a story through design. Taking an idea and transforming that idea into a scenario, Then taking that scenario further by integrating an educational or thought provoking factor within the design.
Colour: I have an eye for colour and being able to create harmony or interest with colour. Using this within design, can strengthen a design and evoke an emotional response.

DETAILED ARTEFACT
Each child receives an Activity Book upon entering the Pop-Up Installation, by a Heath Care professional, who provides a brief explanation of the Pop-Up.
Within are activities and information that serve as a reminder of the Pop-Up Installation. This will ensure the experience and learning will continue, long after their on-site experience. It also provides direction on where further help and information can be found, regarding Mental Health & Wellbeing.

Changes in emotions, are normal, but how we react to those changes are our choice. One of the many factors that affect emotions, are seasonal changes. We cannot stop the seasons from changing, but we can learn to recognise and manage those emotions. Create an Educational Pop-Up Instillation, by utilising immersive and interactive design techniques, to help increase public awareness around Heath & Wellbeing issues faced by children today.
Physical Health & Excessive screen time Abuse in both Mental & Physical forms.
Abuse, physical or mental, is related to emotions. Being able to recognise and managing emotions, is a vital aspect within Mental Health. By providing a fun, welcoming and safe environment, with access to medical professionals, children have the opportunity to recognise and work through the challenges they face, early on in their life.
The site chosen to house this Educational Pop-Up Installation, is on ‘Main Street’ within the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

The Australian Open is an internationally viewed event, with its popularity increasing each year.
This also provides opportunities for the Australian Open Festival to partner up with local and international brands. In this instance, AO Festival and Nike have chosen to collaborate and a Pavilion is to be created, highlighting their brand partnerships, collaboration and positioning. Becoming an athlete requires the desire to be one, then followed through by goals to help accomplish this. The journey to becoming an athlete is not always a straight path. It can seem to be a never ending maze.
Taking that visualisation and turning it into a positive, is the purpose behind the Pavilions design. The journey should be enjoyed, as there are many learning and growing moments within it. The maze showcases different steps in setting and achieving a goal, as well as activation areas, where these steps can be realised, learnt from and enjoyed.
The destination is also not the end. A chance for reflection and be refocus for the next journey ahead, is encouraged.

The Influence of an Athlete: Making a difference
The influence of an athlete, spans further than what we may comprehend. The way we act and re-act, does make a difference to those around us. The maze is filled with interactive activities that help demonstrate this. At the end of the maze, and only viable from a viewing platform, are
the words #MOVE. This is a reminder to keep moving forward. It also provides reflection on what has just been accomplished and what was required. The journey was made easier and more enjoyable because of additional, external help and influences.

A future global concern for our Cities, is over population and with that, increased diversity. The focus for my Exhibition is on Diversity and how Melbourne as a growing city has embraced and celebrated its diverse community.
Two of the most common aspects within a city, that unites people, is food and nature. Of these
aspects, migrants have had a large impact on the Australian Culture. The exhibition, takes you on a journey, showing the variety of cultures that have immigrated to Melbourne and what contribution they have made to the city. It also shows how diversity worked together with local communities and continues to do so, through food and nature.

The need for an offline post office is becoming less common in this technological age. However, by changing the way an offline Post Office site is used and viewed, within the community, will help bring purpose, engagement, and a want to visit the local post office
Re-Design of Australia Post Building & Pop-Up Instillation
546 Rathdowne St, Carlton North VIC 3054
The Carlton North Post Office is housed within a heritage building. Currently, the interior is cluttered, uninviting, and does not celebrate the heritage of the building. To create a connection between the
online and offline sites, simple icons, line art and strong, bold colours found on the Australia Post website are brought into the offline store. Using local plants and images of the area within the building, helps reflect the look and feel of Carlton North. Creating a community Garden and cafe, and displaying Seasonal Pop-Up installations, are additional ways to bring community engagement and helps tie the building and it’s heritage to the community it’s associated with.

POSTAL TUBE INSTILLATION MODEL
The design for the postal tube is inspired by weaving. Bringing characteristics from two functions, the postal service and the community, and weaving them together.
Some section over lap and some are cut at different lengths, showing that each piece is unique, but when woven together into one design, something unique and beautiful can be created.
Australia Post has a large community focus and being able to support this through an offline postal site, expands that community engagement and provides an opportunity to celebrate the Heritage Building that the Post Office is housed in.

The brief required the creation of a branding strategy, for a real-life or invented client, that will be able to last for at least 10 years into the future.
This process required the understanding and defining of branding and brandmarks, case
studies and client research. Name generation and brandmark design, with brand rational, extension applications and guidelines.
Reflections and presentations were given at different points of this process.
BRAND BOOK DESIGN
The Fantail is represented in the overall look, having multiple curved layers mimicking the tail of the bird. It gives a sense of movement and the ability to take flight at any moment.
Within the curved areas are geometric shapes, in a variety of sizes, colours and shapes. Each shape is unique, but together make up a beautifully captivating graphic. A community is like this shape. Each individual is unique, however, as people come together, working towards a common goal; that goal can then be realised in a stronger, more unified way. Helping to project a brighter, more exciting future.

RENOVATION OF THE EXISTING UNITEC
HUB CAFE.
Unitec, Mt Albert Campus.
139 Carrington Rd, Mount Albert, Auckland
The inspiration for the design is inspired mainly
by the Oakley Creek walkways, located near the Mt Albert Unitec Campus. Walking through native bush, and the feeling felt, is the atmosphere I want to bring to the cafe. This will be achieved by using native plants cut into wooden partitioning panels and having fresh, healthy and sustainable foods.
HOSPITALITY DESIGN
FURNITURE PIECES
These furniture pieces we modelled after a furniture piece from a local vendor and created in ArchiCAD. Furniture from the ArchiCAD standard library was used and then manipulated to create the desired barstools.

Unitec are transitioning into an Activity Based Working Environment, which encourages
collaboration, but still encourages quiet focus work. The idea behind the design is to embrace the beauty and rich history that surrounds Unitec. Unitec is located near the Oakley Creek, which is a stream, as well as urban Auckland’s only natural waterfall, which crosses through a variety of different communities before draining into the mangroves and then the Waitemata Harbour.
