Born in Turkey and grew up in Italy. These two cultures shaped his identity and are constantly present in his life. After graduating from IUAV he took part in architectural workshops at the Biennale of Venice and in Trento (organized by the Acropoli association).

He spent his last year, before starting his master’s degree at the Politecnico of Milan, in internships in Rotterdam and Istanbul.

Perspective View

The design area is located between via Bonardi, via Golgi and the building of the department of Electronics.

In order to integrate the geometry of the existing site, the building has been divided into two volumes with different volumes.

From a programmatic perspective, the building will develop common spaces in the ground floor while lecture and drawing rooms will be organised in the upper floors.

It aimes to be a building environmentally sustainable as regards the energy requirements for heating and cooling the building. Moreover, the acoustic and lighting performance of the designed spaces are thought to be flexibility controlled by architectural and structural solution such as wood panels or also waffle slabs.

Stavoli di Orias a mountain environment in which the project is located. Emerging from the strong landscape, we proposed a single-family house of 90m2, in which two solutions were elaborated: Low-Tech and High-Tech.

An archetipical in situ cast concrete dwelling, in the first case, and the second option comes with UHPC panels and a sliding glass facade.

Construction and structural details were studied in-depth and local building techniques were taken into consideration given the site’s characteristics.

Prato Carnico, a comune in the Province of Udine in Italy, gave us the occasion to read and re-interpretate traditional architecture at high-altitude. The design intent was to rethink the traditional typology of houses in the area in a contemporary mindset.

The search for the classic image of the local stavoli’s, in stone and wood, was achieved by a building with a bold materic appearance, in concrete, which created new contrasts and new dichotomies.

The house opens towards the valley to the south with a glass facade, engaging visually with the landscape, the narrow windows remind the traditional openings and filter the light. Through a modest niche, we wanted to reach a feeling of shelter and protection, pointing out the concept of threshold, to face all the climatic conditions of the Mountain environment.

In front of Herzog & De Meuron’s Feltrinelli in Milan rises the cultural centre in which various functions and users interact with each other and the city. A multitude of uses (temporary residences for refugees, library, offices, spaces for meditation, auditorium, exhibition area, restoration area) make of this project a centre for diversified cultures.

An architecture that takes the city inside itself and gives a surplus value at it.

The design intended to create distinct open-air plaza’s; the circulation and interaction between the different users of the Centre was taken into particular consideration.

My latest academic project at the University of Venice was in the course Urbanism and planning design held by Paola Viganò.

The theme of our larger group (15 people) was to envision a future scenario: The peninsula of Cavallino-Treporti in 2050.

As seen above, the research exposed the fragility of the peninsula against tidal waves and the rise of the water level.

The collective research led us to consider two scenarios, Resiliency and Resistance: How architecture and urban design would react to the rise of the water level that is threatening the existence of the peninsula.

The resilient approach wanted to let the peninsula be floaded by the water, this would lead to redefine its perimeter, while the perspective of resistance would protect it.

Once upon a time in Cavallino

Furthermore, (team of 2 people) we had to propose a design based on our research topic which was Agriculture.

Initially we developed the idea of resiliency: the peninsula would have been gradually floaded by the water and a strong infrastructure would be superimposed to the peninsula. This grid-infrastructure would control the water flow and enable an idroponic agriculture.

Then we pursued a future scenario of Resistance, in which a dike would protect the peninsula against the rise of the level of water and tidal waves in Cavallino.

Through precision agriculture, we would revitalize farming as a response to the decrease of interest for cultivation in the peninsula. With this up to date concept of precision agriculture, the farmer would be replaced by drones and autonomous farm vehicles, new figures such as technicians and operators would be introduced, disused greenhouses would be transformed in laboratories and workspaces.

This innovative method will require substantial energy, which could be granted by new biogas plants.

The dike, fields for farming, greenhouses and biogas plants would be work together and be interconnected by digital infrastructure, to generate what we called a technological hortus conclusus.

Our research led us to study furthermore the work of Constant Nieuwenhuys (New Babylon) and we were inspired by A.Branzi’s Agronica.

Contextual Elevation

As with many elementary schools in dense urban areas, the new Volksschule will be a challenge to create child-friendly spaces for both learning and playing. Another challenge of the project lies in urban planning: a relatively large building volume is planned on a relatively small plot of land.

Our design attempts to adapt as well as possible to the existing urban planning context of the perimeter block development. Within this sensitive context, we seek to create a learning environment that radiates its own unique identity.

Our proposal for the Ganztagsvolksschule consists of a multi-layered learning and play landscape: a school where the indoor and outdoor areas are connected to create a holistic learning environment.

On the southern side of the garden, the building changes with a variety of outdoor learning and play areas, followed by the Multifunctional surfaces, classrooms and creative areas.

For the general well-being, the relation to the outdoor space is very important: not only that for the daylight and fresh air in the interior are important, but also the outdoor spaces to stay and learn. The whole school is a sophisticated modular faรงade that creates a unified image.

The terraces form a continuous landscape, which is in direct connection to many interiors.

From the individual classrooms in the open air you can reach other shared gardens and playgrounds via various stairs.

(From the website) Chiasma#81292 is the second edition of the design and build workshop organized by the university association Acropoli. It has entirely been designed and realized by students and young architects.

The result of the weeklong event is “AgorHUB�, a system of different elements which coexist in the internal yard of ImpactHub Trento, defining an interesting and alienating place where to stay, a true urban oasis designed for social interaction.

My latest work experience in an architecture office was in SO? in Istanbul, I ve been working for 3 months, contrubuting in different projects and commisions, from designing stands in a trade fair for a furniture company to participating in competitions.

The project on which I was focused mostly is The Teleporter, a temporary pavilion designed for the Biennale of Istanbul 2019, which was going to house the artworks of two Turkish contemporary artists. I’ve been active in the modeling phase, feasibility studies, and partially in supervising the construction of the structure made principally out of scaffoldings. Unfortunately, for organizational reasons, the exhibition moved somewhere else and the pavilion had to be disassembled before its completition.
