It is not necessary for Uke to repeat, that he/she has noticed Aka’s purpose! Tori is liable for the adequate distance all the time. Tori shall only use kiai during the last attack (mae geri). Tori steps forward with the attack three times, performing jodan oi tsuki, chudan oi tsuki and mae geri chudan + kiai. During defense – Uke steps back with the right foot into zenkutsu dachi age uke, after that he steps back again soto ude uke, and steps back once again performing gedan barai + gyaku tsuki chudan + kiai. During the last attack Uke can avoid the kick by stepping aside (tai sabaki) as well! At the end: Tori always steps back (with a single step) and Uke steps forward (with a single step), thus both competitors end in the starting position.
After this, Shiro comes next as attacker! In case of drawn game, it shall be repeated – from reverse stance! Aspects of judgement are in accordance with the Ippon Shobu competition rules.
