We’ve brought together a master mixologist and exceptional South African musicians to collaborate with Bain’s Whisky. The result? Cocktails Remastered – a unique range of mixes that hit all the right notes for experimenting at home with Bain’s.

COCKTAILS REMASTERED

CREATE A BAIN’S COCKTAIL SYMPHONY AT HOME...

KWETSA JAVA

Drawing on the aspirational lyrics of Anginalo Uvalo by X-wise ft Mariechan & MusiholiQ, this cocktail is success personified.

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 50g Coffee Beans

• 25ml Vanilla & Passionfruit Syrup

• 20ml Lemon Juice

• Top up with Stoney Ginger Beer

Add everything except ginger beer into a coffee plunger, plunge vigorously for 30 seconds, then strain into a highball glass. Top up with ginger beer. Garnish with mint sprig and coffee dust on the rim.

THE PATA PATA SWIRL

Inspired by Bain’s latest experiment with Msaki and Sun-El Musician, Pata Pata Saguquka, this cocktail is steeped in history and tradition.

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 15ml Honey Water

• Top up with Grapefruit Soda (equal parts Grapefruit Juice and Soda Water)

Fill a goblet with ice, add all ingredients and stir. Garnish with a thyme sprig and half a slice of grapefruit.

AMATROPICANA

The smooth Amapiano sounds of La Maluka by Blaqnick & Masterblaq inspired this refreshingly sweet and spicy Bain’s cocktail.

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 30ml Pineapple & Cumin

Seed Syrup

• 25ml Lemon Juice

• 3-4 Dashes of Celery Bitters

• Top up with Soda Water

Add all ingredients into a shaker, shake and pour into a highball glass. Add ice, then top up with soda water. Garnish with a fresh pineapple slice and celery leaf.

THE SWEET BASSLINE

Inspired by X-wise ft Ze2 & MusiholiQ’s track ‘Leyo Feeling’, this figgy drink with hints of litchi and citrus could be your cocktail of choice this summer.

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 2 Bar Spoons Fig Jam

• 20ml Litchi Syrup

• 25ml Lemon Juice

Add all ingredients into a shaker, shake and double strain into a whisky tumbler, garnish with half a slice of preserved fig on a skewer.

COCKTAIL CLASSICS

PUT A BAIN’S SPIN ON THE CLASSICS...

MANHATTAN

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 25ml Sweet Vermouth

• 2 to 3 Dashes Aromatic Bitters

• Maraschino Cherry

Add the Bain’s Whisky, sweet vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass with ice. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with skewered maraschino cherry.

WHISKY SOUR

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 20ml Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

• 20ml Sugar Syrup

• Maraschino Cherry or Lemon Peel

Add all ingredients (except the cherry/lemon peel) into a shaker, shake and strain into a tumbler. Add ice and garnish with your cherry or lemon peel.

GODFATHER

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 25ml Sweet Liquer

• Strip of Orange Peel

Add the Bain’s Whisky and amaretto into a mixing glass. Add a handful of ice and stir until glass feels very cold. Strain into a tumbler, add ice and garnish with orange peel.

OLD FASHIONED

• 50ml Bain’s Whisky

• 2 Dashes Angostura bitters

• 10ml Sugar Syrup

• Strip of Orange Peel

Add the Bain’s Whisky, sugar syrup and Angostura bitters into a mixing glass and stir. Strain into a tumbler with one large ice cube or a few smaller ones. Garnish with an orange peel.

For the ultimate effervescent and easy-drinking mixer, Bain’s Whisky goes perfectly with Appletiser, ginger beer or soda water. Simply serve over ice, garnish with lemon and enjoy.
