COLLEGE PREPARATORY

Inspired by the Bereans in Acts 17—who received the Word with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily—we are deeply committed to cultivating students who seek truth, think critically, and live boldly for Christ.
At Berean Christian High School, our students are equipped to walk confidently in their faith, grow into their God-given purpose, and prepare for a future of meaningful influence and impact.
We provide a college preparatory, Bible-centered education designed to develop lifetime followers of Christ. Our mission is clear: to raise up devoted Christians, critical thinkers, and influential leaders who are ready to make a difference in the world for the glory of God.
In Christ,
Nicholas Harris Head of School

In 1967, Walnut Creek Christian Academy (WCCA), originally a middle school, began expanding its program to include high school grades nine and ten. However, by 1968, it became clear the school could not support a fullhighschoolprogramonitsown.
To meet this need, the governing board of WCCA sought the support of its denomination, the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches, and established a new school—Regular Baptist High School. A decade later, in 1978, the school was renamed Berean Christian High School, reflecting a commitment to the biblical model of the Bereans, who “received the message with great eagerness and examined theScriptureseveryday”(Acts17:11).

The culture of Berean Christian builds community through action. Student life is vibrant, filled with extracurricular opportunities such as serving in student leadership, participating in clubs, engaging in ministry activities, and bonding with classmates at events.
We provide numerous avenues for students to become confident in their unique abilities and to celebrate the many special moments that shape their high school experience.

Clubs play a vital role in fostering community and encouraging student growth. Many clubs are student-created, allowing students to pursue their passions and interests, with guidance and support from a dedicated teacher sponsor. This structure empowers students to develop leadership skills and connect with like-minded peers who share their enthusiasm.

These clubs provide a space for students to build confidence, explore new talents, and create lasting friendships—enriching their high school experience.

Our hope is to see students maturing in their faith, thinking both biblically and critically, and living in a way that glorifies God. With this foundation, students are prepared not only for college and career but also for a lifetime of faithful service, leadership, and purposeinGod’sKingdom.

NICHOLAS HARRIS, HEAD OF SCHOOL

At Berean, our ultimate goal is to guide students from a faith that is learned to a faith that is owned. We cultivate discipleship through intentional spiritual formation, integrating biblical truth seamlessly into every aspect of school life— academics, athletics, fine arts, and student activities. Students are not only taught a worldview; they are equipped to think critically and biblically, live for God’s glory, and exemplify Christ’s character through servantleadership.
As Colossians 2:6–7 reminds us: “So then, justasyoureceivedChristJesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Our school verse, Isaiah 40:31, captures the heart of our mission: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” We long for every student to leave Berean confident in the Lord’s faithfulness, relying on His strength to pursue the callingHehasplacedontheirlives.

This Christ-centered approach reflects our core values: being Christ-honoring, Bible-centered, service-oriented, excellence-driven, andfuture-focused.
The name Berean comes from Acts 17:11, where the Bereans were commended for examining the Scriptures daily to see if what they were taught was true. We strive to instill that same diligence in our students—training them to be discerning, to measure every idea against God’s Word, and to love truth for its own sake. We believe the Christian life is not about compartmentalizing faith but about allowing it to permeate every decision, relationship, and opportunity.
Our faith isn’t confined to the classroom—we believe that all truth is God’s truth, and the Bible serves as the foundation for every subject taught. This biblical integration inspiresstudentstorecognizeGod’s hand in every discipline, viewing learning as an act of worship. In every area of study, from science to literature to history, we encourage students to ask how what they are learning reflects God’s character and plan. As Psalm 119:105 reminds us: “Your word is a lamp to my feet andalighttomypath.”
We also challenge students to extend their faith beyond campus— serving in their churches, engaging their communities, and making an impact in the world for Christ. Whether through local outreach, mission trips, or everyday acts of service, our prayer is that they would live as “ambassadors for Christ”(2Corinthians5:20),bringing hope and truth to a world in need. Asredeemedpeople, theyarecalled to be agents of renewal, shining the light of Christ into every space they enter.
Understanding that the drive to create began with the Creator, Berean cultivates creative spaces for students to explore their passions and connect with communities through their abilities. Through the arts, studentsbecomesalttotheworld, expressinglove, beauty, andhope through song, performance, design, or creation.
